So Jow Forumsentlemen, if there's an Ungoogled Chromium, why is there not a version of Firefox with its telemetry bs removed?
I mean, sure, there's Waterfox, but that shit's outdated af, it stayed behind in v56.
Why isn't there an Unmozillad Firefox?

because you disable firefox's telemetry with a config flag
install waterfox
fpbp
inb4
>it's too difficult reeeeeeee
Basilisk removed all telemetry from code base, but it's a hard fork from v52. As for post-quantum ffx it can be said there aren't many wants to touch a complex code which was made more complex by rust.
or Ice Cat if you hate the new FF.
But Waterfox is based on FF56
Any guide?
RTFM
Is there a specific list of the flags that I need to disable somewhere?
>I mean, sure, there's Waterfox, but that shit's outdated af, it stayed behind in v56.
I want reddit to fuck off
Icecat is not avoiding new firefox, it's just taking a while to update. The next version will be based on ff60.
It's called waterfox
Icecat or fennec fdroid on android
Too bad. I was hoping it would stick to the classic.
Firefox based browsers are shit:
Palemoon - does not open many web sites properly
Icecat - does not open many web sites properly
Light-Fire-Fox - does not open many web sites properly
IceCat
Trash scamware
And that's a good thing. The new Firefox is infinitely better.
>Icecat - does not open many web sites properly
That's because they have an addon to block proprietary js. Just disable that.
JESUS
FUCK
>I don't want telemetry
disable it
>but how do you know it's actually disabled
read the source
>implying that you're actually getting the true source when installing it
compile it yourself
>I don't trust the entity behind the software
you don't have to. open source is trustless. read the source
>the botnet is probably hidden somewhere deep in the source code
if there is no evidence of a certain thing, it is then rationally assumed to not exist.
read the source and point it out.
>I can't read the source
no fucking shit
OH, AND BTW
>but firefox is probably sending data "in the background"
then sniff the traffic and post the proof, faggot
Just make sure you do it with software on an operating system which source code you have audited on hardware running libre firmware which source code you have audited to make sure they're not in a conspiracy with Mozilla to hide their malicious connections from the user.
>open firefox
>go to this URL
about:preferences#privacy
>disable it
>done
Altough I would suggest not to do it because it's non-personal datathat's being sent to Mozilla to improve Firefox. We all want it to be improved over time, do we? (not /s)
Still on Firefox 52 ESR. Have they unfucked the latest versions yet? Is it riceable?
That doesn't answer my question at all.
because unlike chrom you can disable ff tel with text file in your profile dir
no need for recompiling
user.js
>anecdotal evidence
Stop being elitist. Just because someone is less autistic than you who knows everything about a web browser and configs that disables its telemetry doesn't mean they're a reddit user. Fuck off
>about:preferences#privacy
reminder to remove studies from exceptions under rights
nigger stop complaining
>Look mom, I posted it again!
Icecat is what you want. It's established and developed under the GNU umbrella since more than a decade. If you can't trust them, then you certainly can't trust furfags or chinese forks of it.
Because nobody cares about third worlders who get legally spied by their gov and providers
How about an Unfirefoxed Mozilla you fucking normalfag
fpbp
Just get some user.js from github and place it in your appdata
>lives such an insignificant life that no one cares to see what he's doing
>lives in such a cucked prison-state he gets constantly monitored and spied on, thus having to worry about minimal thingies like base telemetry
And if you're worried about non-financial, legal stuff, you are also retarded
Cmon now user, don't be so rough on the amerimutts
It exists. It's called IceCat.
