What is the cheapest switch plate/case I can buy? Preferably 60% or tenkeyless.
I have a bunch of cherry switches laying around from years ago, enough to build a custom board, but I don't have a ton of money to drop on a case/plate.

Probably some plastic case off kbdfans or some other chink site.

thoughts on zealio 65gs? I'm tempted by the prebuilt tada68 boards on kbdfans and have the money to throw at one.

are those things completely programmable might be kinda neet for simulators.

Also just checking but no one makes romer g caps right ?

I have that

Logitech does, but no third parties.

The artisans or the vibrator?

Anyone going to the NJIT meet at the end of the month? The guy that owns all those beamspring is supposed to be there as well as the guy who runs the model F project. There are also supposed to be a few secret prototype switches there at the meetup as well

Attached: cagwqi.jpg (619x619, 60K)

that toy looks cheap as fuck

Most electric massagers are like 20-30 bucks, so yeah they are cheap

That datahand is in need of some peroxide to whiten it up. Too bad those things are basically unobtanium nowadays.

Some flavor of ducky or leopold, preferably with thick PBT caps.

I've been considering getting Ducky for a while now, but there's not much option for non-LED ones. What other brand should i also consider?

Take a look at the mk typist, maybe one of the vortex or KBP boards too.

I'm in Mexico. Honestly for that price go for an old keyboard (think 6gv2, etc.) with genuine Cherry switches from ML. At least you'll get build quality and not memes.

Pretty impossible to get a good TKL or less at that price point IMO.

Personally, I can recommend the magicforce line of keyboards

aliexpress.com/item/Magicforce-Smart-68-Keys-Non-Backlit-Antighosting-USB-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Aluminium-Alloy-Kailh-Blue/32601129811.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.3.26ee7e03eOsmKN&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10068_10059_10696_100031_10084_10083_10103_451_452_10618_10307_10134,searchweb201603_45,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=f1f5cee2-8767-40e6-a006-6968e260b75f-0&algo_pvid=f1f5cee2-8767-40e6-a006-6968e260b75f&priceBeautifyAB=0

Drevo is a reputable enough brand

aliexpress.com/item/Mechanical-Keyboard-Drevo-Gramr-84-Keys-Wired-Gaming-Keyboard-White-Backlit-Gamer-Red-Switch-OUTEMU-Switches/32754807683.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.61.f5131a34jkDlRT&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10068_10059_10696_100031_10084_10083_10103_451_452_10618_10307_10134,searchweb201603_45,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=2a2e46c1-5e45-49d8-8089-c99888a69e45-12&algo_pvid=2a2e46c1-5e45-49d8-8089-c99888a69e45&priceBeautifyAB=0

There's also compact options like this

aliexpress.com/item/Z88-RGB-Backlit-Small-Mechanical-Keyboard-Tenkeyless-No-Number-Pad-Ergonomic-Design-Outemu-Switches-81-Keys/32911482294.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.148.f5131a34jkDlRT&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10068_10059_10696_100031_10084_10083_10103_451_452_10618_10307_10134,searchweb201603_45,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=2a2e46c1-5e45-49d8-8089-c99888a69e45-25&algo_pvid=2a2e46c1-5e45-49d8-8089-c99888a69e45&priceBeautifyAB=0

So I'm planning on building an XD87 (Larger kit I can buy with a split spacebar), but the case is plastic. This means the case is going to be light.

For my GH60, I had a whole bunch of the weights used for a Pinewood Derby car from my little brothers time in boyscouts or whatever that I used to add some bulk to it, but I'm curious what solutions other people had to adding some bulk to their cases.

Why not get the metal case for it? Or is that too expensive?

don't shill your meetup here Jacob

Okay, I just wanna try out some new switches and see if some other fags were gonna be there

Attached: IMG_0059.jpg (400x400, 110K)

do i splurge for the massdrop ctrl, Jow Forums?
or is hot-swappable switches a meme?

Attached: massdrop ctrl.jpg (700x467, 44K)

Hotswap is totally worth it. I have a zhuque and I love it.

I got a Magicforce 82 from MD a year and a half ago, got mine with Gateron Greens. Has white backlighting but I mostly keep it off.

A very legit keyboard.

any other 87keys chinkshit ones?

is there a list of keyboards or keyboard brands that are compatible with linux?

amzn.com/B01I1N6N3U

amzn.com/B07DFBKYT5

We'll get right on that. Just as soon as Linux has a double-digit percentage of the desktop market.

You shouldn't worry about compatibility all USB & PS/2 keebs are supported (watch out for custom Windows software for macros & leds tho)

2019 will be the year of Linux desktop

amzn.com/B07BTMWJ92

Next year? Well, I still have time to work on that list, then.

i'm considering getting the 9009 enjoypbt set from kbdfans should i go for it?
kbdfans.cn/collections/cherry-profile/products/pre-orderenjoypbt-9009-keycaps-set

Sure, why not.

This is objectively the correct answer.

Attached: pure_rart.jpg (800x532, 59K)

Those aren't new switches tho

>membrane keyboard

Attached: IMG_0014.jpg (640x512, 74K)

theyre pretty good if you like clears id get one

they are nice switches, but imo they're too overpriced

>That datahand is in need of some peroxide to whiten it up. Too bad those things are basically unobtanium nowadays.

I have a set that I am finally trying to sell off. What are the best places to try to peddle them? KB forums, some sort of hand disability forum, or something else?

Try deskthority, there's probably some collector there who'll pay you a few thousand for them.

I'd look at deskthority first. There's also geekhack, the rebbit mechmarket, etc. You could probably get some decent dosh for it.

thanks for the tips.

coming from somebody who didn't break a sweat going to a kinesis and who made a custom Dvorak-derivative keymap and got fluent on it in a few months, this thing was fucking impossible to get used to. I hope somebody else can use it, since my wife is increasingly on my case about some of my mothballed tech stuff.

Where's a good place to get replacement keyboard housings?

Attached: 1530376205556.jpg (700x900, 138K)

Depends on what kind of board it is. That said kbdfans has a number of cases on their site.

It's a 66key from Leopold. I don't think any of the cases on kbdfans fit this keyboard

The only 3rd party cases for an FC660 are those expensive CNC aluminum cases. So good luck with that.

Damn. I found a project on thingiverse that might fit it but I don't know if I should trust a 3d printed keyboard case

A 3D printed case likely wouldn't be as good as the stock plastic case to be honest.

Aww, maybe I should just sell this keyboard and buy a new one

If all you want is a different color you could just paint it.

I was considering that, but I thought I'd be retarded with it and mess it up somehow like buying the wrong spray paint or something

this any good?

What's a good 80cn or higher Switch Mechanical keyboard?

Attached: 1516812322881.jpg (1280x720, 84K)

Something with mx clears, box navies, or hako royal clears/trues. Maybe get one of the boards with hot swappable sockets so you can just pop in one of those switches.

Something with Tai-Hao APC 280g industrial switches

how good are the DREVO kbs?

outemu brown switch and they have the italian layout I need for 60e total

beaner here, whatever you do use dhl or another mail service, mexpost WILL FUCK UP YOU PACKAGE, NON NEGOTIABLE.

>Real German Cherry MX Switches

Genuine Japanese Alps SKCM Switches with Tactile Leaves Folded Once are better

I feel like if you only need the center 4, you could have just used a standard RJ11. But there\s probably some reason I'm wrong about that.

Attached: box.jpg (640x360, 83K)

It better be a JIS HHKB

What's the best place to sell a keyboard that isn't mechmarket?

What kind of keyboard is it?

kbd75

Reddit and geekhack are the best places tho for a cringeboard

massdrop.com/buy/varmilo-electro-capacitive-numpad

What's the point of electro-capacitive switches? Are they analog?

Thoughts on the Corsair K68 non-rgb? was considering getting one because it was the only keyboard i could find with seperate media keys and without the volume wheel at around that price range, i was also looking at the kingston hyperx alloy elite non-rgb as an alternative but it had the volume wheel, im open to any other suggestions for something similar, dont really care about any other features other than those.

Any firmware programmable keyboard will work if you want dedicated media keys. There are cheap chinese options, but if you want something from a main brand with a warranty then check out Ducky

worth it. Made my life 10x easier. Soldering was such a time-consuming process.

Just got these earlier, I'm super excited to put them on my keyboard.

I've tried Ducky, Razer Blackwidow, they felt too cheap build-wise and sound-wise. Tried a red switch Asus Rog keyboard and it felt pretty decent.

Tada68 with an aluminum case.

Probs no one remembers me because I'm a faggot (and this general is dead), but I'm the guy that said he found a chiclet keyboard better than a mechanical one about two weeks back.
