Falling for the OLED jewish scam

I'm sticking to IPS.

I don't have any burn in on galaxy s5.

Wow, isn't that a store display model?? How could that happen?? It's not like the screen is left on 24 hours a day all the time isn't it??

IPS doesn't have this problem.

Attached: oled.webm (854x1518, 2.84M)

You're right. OLED displays aren't designed to be on all the time and under real world use they aren't.
Display models are a bane for them though. Ideally you should just let them sleep but for some reason stores want to keep the displays on all the time (maybe to show the devices are working, but always on clock displays take care of this now).

Bigger battery drain, worse colours.
I'd rather try to not use my phone keeping it on a single screen for over 100 hours straight at 100% brightness. Oh wait, nobody fucking does that anyways and there are burn-it protections on android.

>worse colours
>oversaturate everything
>hurr durr it's better

Oversaturation isn't a function of the panel, but nice try.

>oversaturate everything
You're retarded

This is like a colorblind person being cured and claiming the world is oversaturated. It's not, you were just defected/blind the whole time.

SAMSHIT is the only provider of OLED panels for the iPhone X, so yeah OLED is shit

Thats why you wait for microled which also improves energy efficiency.

Literally just don't leave your screen on one frame for hours at a time. No one does this so OLED burn-in isn't a problem for the normal guy.

Secondly, Apple isn't the only one who uses OLED panels you fucking brainlet, stop trying to make everything about it.

You're looking at it wrong

>Leaves OLED display on for 24 HRs a day, 7 days a week

Why, do just the dumbest people lurk Jow Forums? You'd think that the brain-dead droolies at Jow Forums would take the cake but every single day I'm amazed at the sheer fucking retardation of this board.

>If I just invalidate every usage case, I win the argument
If your plan is leaving the display on in a shop 24/7 yea, IPS is better, plan on actually using a smartphone for its intended use? OLED is objectively better, now go back.

t. Incel

What the fuck is with that laptop display, I live in a nigger country and we don't have anything even close to that

No other current display technology has this problem though

>notch

lol

My galaxy S7 does

But Jow Forums said OLED is future!

I do.

No. Jow Forums says microLED is the future.

>those laptop displays
Has to be in one of those "urban" areas infested with shadow americans

>>oversaturate everything
2010 called, they want their memes back

What the fuck did you do to it? I even kept it on android 4 until the final android 6 update came and even had people play Pokémon go on it with screen constantly turned on.

>mfw no visible signs of burn in on my SGS6
>mfw no visible signs of burn in on my Nokia N9
>mfw I can just barely see burn in around where the clock is on my old SGS3, which is over 6 years old
I gave the SGS3 to my mum, If I shelved after I stopped using it I bet there would be no signs burn in.

How does Apple actually prevent that from happening in the Apple Store? Why is it that display iPhones you see in a Best Buy or something are always beat up but the ones on display at an actual Apple Store are in near-pristine condition?

My Galaxy S7 of 2 years isn't even showing a hint of burn-in though.
But if your retarded ass wants to stare at your home screen for 5 hours straight you should probably buy an IPS.

Attached: 111098199989.jpg (530x600, 21K)

>tfw buy lg v20 for audio reasons mostly
>IPS screen has image retention issues after about a year and a half
its not permanent burn-in like OLED since it fades after having the screen off, but can happen to poorly manufactured IPS panels.

They replace the models in the Apple Store every week. And sell them as refurbished.

What actually happened
Apple: We need your best displays, if not we'll go to LG.
Samsung: Yes, master!
Apple: Oh, yeah, we're also going to invest in your competition while doing so, thanks!

>they trust us, dumb fucks

whats the best screen for a phone that can prevent screenburn? my moto g4 (now two years old) suffers massivly from screenburn with its IPS LCD technology.

But IPS looks like shit

It's not a problem unless you leave it at full brightness on one screen 24/7

>ishit
Found your problem.

>barely use phone over last 8 hours
>"hurr durr look at my battery life!"

If I used my phone as little as you I would get 2-3 days.

My S5 does. Screen was alive for 24Hrs after I set it down and started researching how to flash it.

Fuck

Please don't bully /lgbt/. iTrash belongs in /trash/

t. salty androjeet

That's kinda your fault isn't it?

From my experience :
Galaxy S4 with some burn in, was a gift from ex gf, already had burn in cause women seem to keep their screens on all the time? WTF is with this shit?

Galaxy S8+ I've had since launch day, no burn in. I was aware of the potential burn in the day I bought it so I would change backgrounds and themes every month or so, and it's still fine now.

Galaxy Note 9, got it 2 weeks ago and have been doing the same as above. None of the phones I personally bought have burn in, just don't be fucking tard and leave the screen on for hours at a time on a static image.

nigger it's a display phone that never turns off. that's bad for fucking any phone, regardless of the type of panel you use.

>make excellent screens
>use software techniques to avoid burn in
>don't tell Apple about it

I hate my S9. I'm glad my company gave it to me.

hell, my S3 doesn't have any signs of burn in.

Oh no, a display unit showing the same image 24/7 has burn in, definitely a problem I'm going to have on my own device.

>move icons around a bit
>snake oil

I worked in a large store for 11 months and this was exactly the problem

on top of being made to sell computers like a used car salesman

>you can cause burn in on a display technology that can suffer if you disable the screen timeout and display the same screen 24 hours a day
Woah! OLED BTFO!

Meanwhile, in the real world, I have zero burn-in on my S8. Enjoy your IPS garbage and """""blacks""""" that are bright enough to light up a room.

I know it's also a jewish scam, but I got a QLED TV and IPS computer monitors, specifically because of the Burn in possibility.
I hated babying my Plasma TV, and while I do miss the localized lighting and perfect blacks, the overall color gamut of QLED LCD TV's is amazing.

This. Also, it could just be image retention which is temporary. Lots of OLED screens have modes you can run them through to help remove IR.

Burn in is literally not an issue during regular use. The colors, are slightly worse, but I think its worth the tradeoff for pure blacks.

Parents have had a plasma for 5 years... no burn in. You trying to use it as a monitor or something? Trying to think of what you you have consistently on a TV that would burn in.

>have a V30 for over a year
>no burn in
>tfw not retarded

Dumbfags like you are the reason no company is making OLED desktop monitors. They know that you'll leave it on 24/7 at peak brightness burning in your taskbar and then try to blame them.

>r/hardware
Arguably the worst sub related to computers. Gigantic literal cuck tips shills and they unironically think they're superior and more knowledgeable than everyone else

I hate reddit so fucking much

>Gigantic literal cuck tips shills and they unironically think they're superior and more knowledgeable than everyone else
so, Jow Forums?

My S3 Mini definitely does.

Used s2 for 5 years no burn.
On Moto maxx now 3 years no burn.
You must be really retarded like screen lit for a day

It has worse blacks and therefore worse contrast, but there's nothing intrinsically worse about color reproduction or gamut.

>its not permanent burn-in like OLED since it fades after having the screen off
That really is the key takeaway, though.

Jow Forums openly admits it's mostly 12 year olds, Jow Forumshardware doesn't

I still use a Samsung Galaxy Note one, the screen is amazing and never had this kind of issue.
Maybe AMOLED > OLED
But, wasnt samsing the primary apple screen provider?

Elgiganten doesn't have this problem

Android has burn-in protection. I'm sure Apple wasn't smart enough to think about implementing this in iOS.

what protection?

since when?
im looking at my oreo motorola device and everything is in its place.
