poorfag

When they stop manufacturing so many smartphones, hopefully this smartphone with dozens of GB of ram fad will die soon.

I don't understand it either. Back in 2016 I recall buying a PC for my dad with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It was relatively cheap. Now it's triple the fucking price, what the nigger loving fuck.

>16GB of DDR4 RAM
You can get a cheap 8GBx2 set for 120. Was it only 40 bucks back then?

never. pc gaming is normie shit so the prices will never drop.

Got my math wrong.

But basically, same -exact- set of RAM (Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2133 PC4-17000 8GB CL14):

June 2016 - 35,25€
September 2018 - 86€

I mean, can you mine cryptoshit with RAM now or what? What's going on exactly?

>he fell for the 16 GiB RAM FUD
I swear this was a Jewish marketing tactic by the RAM cartel to stop anons from buying cheap ram back in 2016

it will never drop, it's an essential hardware for consumers indulging in any PC related activity so they just realized that the price spike will result in the same amount of people buying it anyway
it's a win-win for them

Bought 32GB DDR3 back when most average people were rolling along with 4GB. 8GB was "normal" Was dirt cheap compared to now. I ain't worried about shit. Got an 8GB x 2 kit stashed away in a closet in case I need it. This is why you stock up/max out your board while you can get it cheap. Also a good idea to stock up/ buy spare core parts when you can cause shit never know when they'll quit making them or the cost will sky rocket. I got a spare CPU, Mobo, and GPU stashed away just in case.

Price fixing.

32gb costs fuckin 500-600 dollars here, thats fucking insane.

Not so much poorfag as i have a 2tb samsung ssd and a fuckin gtx 1080 that costs less than 32gb of ram does.

32gb of ram should be like 300-400 dollars max, 500-600 is more reasonable for 64gb.

Yep, i paid like 200 dollars for 16gb of hyper x, now its more like 400.

>I got a spare CPU, Mobo, and GPU stashed away just in case.
autism

2.44 times is still pretty bad

It's already slowly comming down

price fixing

Well, if a component fails, instead of having to look on E-Bay for something Used, which could fail the next week and pay out the ass for it (shipping costs) I can just open the closet and pull out what I need which is new. Even if I don't end up using it, I can always build a computer with those parts and use it or sell it for profit.

>tfw bought a 32 2400 ddr4 ECC sram stick new for 200
if you're not sniping Amazon with bots you have no right to complain

End of this year it should have dropped significantly.... BUT because of price fixing, it will only drop 15%.

So 16gb 3200mhz kit now costs 150, should almost cost as close as 125 by end of this year.

Hope I can score a cheap 16GB 2100 or 2400 kit on black friday or cyber monday.

That won't happen

I want to upgrade my rig but the fucking RAM prices are putting me off because I refuse to pay almost 3 times as much as I should for 16GB RAM.
I've waited well over a year and I sure as shit wont give in now. Hope to god we get some decent sales for Cyber Monday and Black Friday too.
