We had the best childhood because smartphones became big during our middleschool

Imagine being such a manchild that you base your entire generation identity on which (((media))) you consumed during your childhood.

SJW want control media for political correct to fix the world ... because begin such babies.

born '96 so bit of TN and most CN

What about lawful evil? Since you were in middle school at the time.

>Gen X
>Good
Literally the worst generation

core-late gen X

I've only seen Iron Man because muh MCU and Avatar. I played ME after having played ME3 when in high school.

24 here, was fun watching the internet evolve.

It used to be better, way before search engines and normiebook.

Oh, and almost everybody had their pc wired up to the internet directly

Boomer Zoomer hybrids tend to somewhat prefer their elementary years over jr high years, as jr high was when kid culture went to shit according to some with the old shows getting cancelled and replaced with stuff like Johnny Test

>AOL demo disks
>netscape
>dailup
>windows in windows in windows in windows (this was before tabbed browsing)
>fap to single images because they take 30 sec each to load
>family computer is the only one
>print out porn on cheap printer so I can fap in the privacy of my own room
>MOOOOM WHY DID YOU PICK UP THE PHOOONEE!!??

every gen does this. literal boomers tacking on muh war muh car or some shit doesn't change it much.

Zoomer scum in denial

Old anime and isometric rpgs.
>sip

>When you get to jump an extra one and a half behind because you grew up with hardware from bootsales and no digibox.

I grew up in 89. PS1, N64, The Matrix, Dexter's Labratory, Pokemon, Ninja Turtles, Spiderman, X-Men, All That, Keenanan and Kel

I also grew up in an era where mtv played music videos.

Boomer

Was born in 83. Good memories. Shit sucks now.

Our phone was a landline phone but not just any phone. An actual rotary dial white one. The kind that would knock someone's ass out if you hit them with it. Kids today; they don't know anything.

Born in 96, grew up playing on a sega genesis, PS2, and gamecube/wii

wouldn't those currently between 22-24 be classified as millenials?

Jokes aside, you should be getting some sleep considering you've got school tomorrow

*tsssck*
*sips*
Aaaahhh, yes, the good ol' days.

Born in the mid 80s so Early Gen Y to core Gen Y. For vidya and cartoons

Most of my music was though of my older brothers, so I grew up mostly on grunge, new age and acid house so for music and fashion, actually late Gen X.

Attached: 90s-rave-culture-main.jpg (820x546, 115K)

every time I look at these it tells me that im early gen z but I only remember late gen y shit. it feels like I'm in the wrong generation.

Did you listen to Nu Metal growing up like Korn, Slipknot or Limp Bizkit?

Eh, I always hate these generational lists because the culture change is actually very different.
Gen X really should end in the late 70s early 80s. Then you have actual Millenial culture that spans from about 1985 to about 2000 and then Zoomer culture starts.
This is because the biggest cultural change is the rise of the internet and smart devices which starts occuring in the early 00s for mass adoption. I did not use the internet for the first time until I was about 13-14, at no point when I was in high school, was social media a thing.
This is completely different for kids basically born post 1995 who will never know a life without the internet or social media.
Another mass cultural change is 9/11 which completely change the political order of the world, and then 2008 GFC
As someone born in the 80s and growing up in the 80s and 90s, I feel that my childhood was far closer to that of someone in the 70s/80s than that of people in the 00s and 10s.

I'm 35. Holy shit where has the time flown? Life sucks now. Only 5 more years till I hit 40 and have to start eating "rabbit" food to keep my heart from clogging up and I kill over somewhere. Goddammit

No. Stuff like Deep Forest, Smashing Pumpkins, Enigma, Praga Kahn, Silver Chair, Prodigy, KLF, The Shamen, LFO etc.

you can still eat burgers and pizza but for now you need to work on your cardio. they say once you get old and you stop being active that's when you die.

I'm 31 and I've already noticed life gets so much fucking worse once you hit your 30s.

>Have to start watching what you eat and you notice your body starting to slow down.
>Everyone around you becomes boring as fuck boomers who spend social gatherings talking about having kids, marriages and finance.
>Women you go on dates with suddenly only care about your career and income instead of 20 somethings who care more about your personality and what fun you can bring into their lives.
>Post-30 nightlife is fucking garbage, yet you feel weird going to the cool clubs because everyone is 18-25.

I would kill to go back and redo my 20s.

Even though I was born in 1980's, some stuff I like was actually popular in the 60's/70s. Hell I like the Merry Melodies Cartoons/Tom and Jerry and those were popular in the 40's/50s. What passes for "entertainment" now for kids, just plain sucks. No wonder shit is so fucked up. I liked Scooby doo Where are you/the scooby doo show, Transformers G1, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, and the X-Men series

Are you blind/retarded? It says right there in the pic that Gen X ended in.the early 80s and Millennials ended in the mid 90s just like you're asking. Look at the part that says "Primary audience".

95' here, grew up with older tech thanks to my older cousin and my old man. I remember playing on a Super Nintendo and watching VHS tapes. I was also introduced to an old 486 clone PC, with Doom installed on it.

Yeah I've already noticed the slowing down part. Anymore I do good to stay up till 10:30. After that it's bed time for me. I seem to be more alert when I wake up, get all fired up thinking yeah "I do this and this when I get home" only for me to wind up not doing any of it when I get home due to being wore out. End up doing it during the weekends. Sucks ass.

this needs re-made
t. born in 89

>know a life without the internet or social media
That's the biggest game breaking event.
It turned kids (and most young adults) into brainwashed idiots

muh

I was born in 96 and we didn't have a computer until I entered middle school, I didn't have a smartphone until 2012.
I have also never used any social media.

strictly going by year I'm part of the early gen z demographic but remembering the transition between late gen y and early z actually makes me bitter as fuck. this combined with the fact that i switched houses and schools almost the exact same time always makes me feel like my childhood ended before junior high

all this to say that you're extremely right. early 2000s makes me painfully nostalgic and what came after makes me want to vomit

Interesting. Why does the transition make you bitter?

I'm in my early 30's. No smart phone or Facebook page. Frankly don't see the point of them. To me a phone is to make calls, which is what I use it for or to do quick txt messages. Don't use facebook cause all the fuckers I went to school with were all assholes then and I hated them so why would I care about any of it now? My friends all know where I live, know my e-mail, or got my number so they can reach me. All the hot bitches in school are all loaded down with kids or have turned to shit now so why bother with them either. Besides I've got a Wife who's way hotter than those bitches are. As if you couldn't tell my school years sucked. Boring shit hole, the only saving grace was the computer related classes and this one hot freshman girl with C cups. There were a few hot teachers though to.

I'm bitter about the late 2000's because that's when video games started declining and becoming less fun and more about politics and greed.

Games suck now, period. Either re-hashes of what came before or "remakes" which totally fucks over everything that made the original game great.

>a war is as significant as me watching Pokémon on the telly when I was still crapping my pants
The absolute STATE of Americans.

'95 here. I knew I wasn't the only one that felt like he didn't belong to the boomer/zoomer scum

Attached: 1526331340370.png (1000x666, 331K)

More core-to-late boomer. I remember a few things from early boomer, but i think thats mostly due to repeats on TV or i was too young to "appreciate" them.

same here

Born 1994 here
Windows Me at home, 98 at internet cafes - 1999 to 2006
Vista at home, XP at internet cafes - 2006 to 2012

1993 and I think this is absolutely inaccurate except LotR and Star Wars prequels.

search engines always existed you fuckin' goof. way to show your age.

Early Gen Z, but they missed all the YTPs I watched as an autistic child.

This might have just been my region but I remember a time when the amount of different things that were still around was higher than at any other point in my life. Audio CDs and DVDs were available but a lot of people were still using cassette tapes and VHS. Vinyl records were also common but I never saw an 8-track tape. Pretty much all of the "90s KIDS WILL REMEMBER :)" stuff was still in common use, so for a while I thought of myself as a 90's kid even though I wasn't in kindergarten until 2000.
I remember Windows 98 being common on public and school computers, but most people with home computers had XP by the time my family had one.
When it comes to the internet, we were a big chunk of the kids that flooded the internet in the decade after Eternal September as dial up and then broadband made their way. Our version of September was the summer time, when our small tight knit communities had a bunch of new members from bored kids off school. Therefore our version of Eternal September is the Eternal Summer, when everyone started using social media and smartphones around 2007.
Me too I'm glad to see this distinction being made. I nominate pic related as the official technology of our age group.

Sorry buddy you're a zoomer.
See one of us 96 or older on the street and we'll give you a nod of respect but you can never be one of us.

Remember when these were a thing? These were pretty stupid.

They never work well and I just keep fucking buying them.

If you wrote 34 someone could perhaps believe it you larping shitsnip

96' so core gen Y.
Though i'm not from US so many things don't apply

Today I turned 25. Dexter's lab was kino and the N64 is GOAT console.

god you are so english/uk jfc

Late gen X but born in the 90s.. I was poor in a shithole country.

late gen Y, the dates are gay though

I'm actually slightly younger than that pic

I’m 24 and the only thing I really miss is when you could pretend to be retarded on Internet forums and nobody would say you were trolling

I'm too old for this shit

96 is late y maybe early z. Look at the part that says "Primary audience".

2001-2006 is when that stuff was popular, not birth years. Look at the part that says "Primary audience".

imagine a generation grown up to believe that there are no genders and there are 72 genders at the same time. Basically California but everywhere.
Some times I am planning to write a book where one of the characters is a god of suicide and he really likes people kill themselves. Man, he will be so happy in the future when the next generation starts hero-ing themselves :D

Xbox/GC/PS2, 360/Wii/PS3, and GBC and GBA
Windows XP, Vista, and 7
If they grew up in macfag households, the G4 and early G5 iMacs, and the mac mini
iPod classic, mini, nano, and touch
Firefox and IE were the most common browsers
A decent amount of people, even some not techy types, learned a bit of HTML from customizing myspace/xanga profiles and neopets storefronts
If they were the techy types, their first programming language was probably Java or PHP
dumbphones with greyscale displays and few features beyond texting and a contacts list. dumbphones with color displays and camera/MP3/games were for rich kids, though obiously that changed over time.
Film cameras were a thing until about the early 2000s, so most would know about it. Same with CRT monitors and TVs, and ball mice.
Some might have memories of VHS, cassettes, 3.5 inch floppies, fax machines, wired phones, and dial up, but some might not. We used these in my house up to 2004, but I know people my age who have no memories of them.

t. 24 year old boomer

What the fuck is this vernacular anymore? I fucking hate this place.

We need a true Eastern Bloc chart

Yawn. The 20's suck dick unless you're into partying and getting laid. At least by the time I'm 30 I won't have to do shitty jobs for low pay repeatedly because I'll actually have some experience.

omg best handheld all time fight me nintendo shills

96 here
is it me or this year should be considered as the border between boom and zoom?
my classmates was 40/60 boomer/zoomer blend but everyone who I met who was born in or after 97 is a fucking zoomer (except one guy that was some kind of history nerd and potential school shooter)

This image is me.

Early Gen Y aka the best. Don' bother me about it.

Attached: nothing's changed.jpg (941x10000, 2.39M)

Seems about right, just old enough to have shit like phones in high school but not young enough to be raised on Jake Paul.

You're fucking dumb
I'm not considering anything from your pointing my "good old days".
You also have to account that people remember what they liked the most in their lives, and that time frame obviously differs.

When I was growing up I used to take tapes and record songs on the radio because we had no internet or music streaming. I even recorded music videos on tapes. Kids don't understand what real music is

Born in '77. Core Gen X uber-boomer.
Atari 800, learned to write BASIC.
Commodore 64, more BASIC and better games.
IBM 386, DOS and maybe Windows 3.1
Slackware in the mid-'90s
Dot matrix printers.

*Sip*
Mmm, that's the shit!

to think that pic related generation is now no longer considered underage, disgusting and depressing, they are here is the worst part.

89 here.

Though I only got the last year, I have been deeply intenched in 80s culture.

Many 80s shows were still going into the 90s. Plenty of reruns too. Lots a 80s action movies on TV.

Still were many boxy cars around. Cadillac was still a pure luxury car rather than trying to be a sports car.

Could definitely include 97 in that shit there.

>>Have to start watching what you eat and you notice your body starting to slow down.
>>Everyone around you becomes boring as fuck boomers who spend social gatherings talking about having kids, marriages and finance.
I'm 22 and see these on a daily basis.

You sound a lot more poor than boomer

That's precisely why age elitism is bullshit. Poorfags can be part of the age elitism too with "omg you don't know what a n64 is? it was the
best console i owned!!!" while omitting the fact that used goods and re-runs of series exist.

>boomer-zoomer
I'm so confused by this meme. Is the whole point to pretend that millennials don't exist in-between? :(

77 is late gen x
