>why X
>but don't use arbitrary reasons Y and Z
Fuck off.

>Why do you guys think drinking water is good? And no, don't use the staying hydrated excuse.

Because I don't have to register an account

Well? WELL?

>I like beer
>I only admit this as anonymous

Stupid men talk about people
Great men talk about ideas
Anonymity takes the person completely out of the equation, thus facilitating greatness.

Yet Jow Forums is a cesspool.

It's fucking raw
It takes a high IQ to deal with low SNR sources,

So is a bloodstained battlefield, but true heroes are forged there.

obscure stranger in the distance.png

Because people won't focus on the user and their history.

>Well you said unrelated thing x three months ago, so you're wrong in this case
>Oh man, it's SomeFuckingFaggot, I'll reply and hope he notices me!
>Username checks out XDXD

I rather deal with the shitposting that exists currently than kikesexuals that would behave like that.

I go on a website and they ask for:
>first and last name
>picture of myself
>location
They also say
>this information will be public

I didn't go through with it because
>I hate creating accounts
>I don't feel comfortable giving away my personal information
>I don't want employers to google my name and find me linked with that website

In other examples, I don't want strangers to know where I work, what car I drive, how much money I make, where I live, etc.

Jow Forums is not a cesspool because of anonymity. It's a cesspool because of the lax moderation policies.
I'm not trying to fault the mods for any reason, but if global rules 3 and 6 were actually enforced, the site would be much better.
Not trying to tell mods how to moderate; that's completely their decision. I'm just of the opinion that those rules would really improve the site.

not getting harassed

It allows people to express their opinions without being able to be personally attacked for them. In this way we can have a more open discussion. Open discussion meaning that people can see others viewpoints and gain an insight into their own.

Also helps when someone is embarrassed to talk about a subjuct that they might desperately need more info on.

Attached: 11evlld.jpg (2048x725, 241K)

i don't want all my mistakes and fetishes to be logged forever in some server only to be used against me 10 years later.

0- Governments and groups may find your existence unpleasant and will use you information against you and your family if they can.
1- It`s uncomfortable knowing that some people know you hold some kinds of opinions.
1- Every historical time have it`s own heretic opinions and behaviors, and in certain situations hold an opinioon means being unable to get a job, get fired from a job you already have, being casted out by your family or even being murdered.

The burden of proof is on you to show why my identity should be known.

>Why do you guys think anonymity is so good?
It isn't. Go ahead and post your name, address, SS number here OP. I promise you it's safe, anonymity is pointless after all.

this

He doesn't know how to cook a burger.

Neither do you :^)

Because i engage in illegal activities that could ruin my life although i'm not causing any harm.

Also, people should be able too resist unjust laws.

Ur a pussy op

go be gay in iran

t b h i say more shit when i'm not anomalous

>Neither do you :^)
I can cook the most powerful burger user.

Please you face and your official identity document.

But ... If you are underage fuck off

You already have anonymity. Everyone does

Just never tell your asl (age, sex, location)
Don't use Social media
Don't post pictures or selfies of yourself
Don't talk about your real life experiences

That's anonymity.
In a technical standpoint
You use FOSS software i guess. Use GNU/Linux, use Firefox and ublock (blocks ads and trackers and stuff). That's it.

You certainly seem to think it's good

Something can be a cesspool in one particular dimension and not in another. Facebook is a cesspool. By the same metrics Jow Forums is not a cesspool (except possibly some tripfags on low-traffic backwaters).

i think the problem with anonymity is becoming more obvious over time.

at one time, you will be entering a website which acts as a church or forum and members will be able to see you entering and rate you by your habits because you profile is not anonym anymore. of course you can hide under the layer like Jow Forums where everything we talk about doesn't really hurt the system but when we talk about people who have the potential to gain strength in their voice, this is the key to just keep them locked for ever unless you are directly born in the royal families which run this planet

who?

it's already known and tracked since birth. thank your doctor for logging your health condition to the state

there are unjust laws that are broken daily. it's just that the proclaimed security about weak anonymity is a simple lie because the inventors of de-anonymity want you to commit the information that you can't be a threat to them. but if somebody who isn't fond of the system threatens you, they will let you alone with the problem most of the time

>that's it :^)

wired.com/2016/11/block-ultrasonic-signals-didnt-know-tracking/

this, I hate doing that

You're right. Better be careful not to let you get my DNA through the information superhighway.

that's true. in this day and age it isn't required for you to make yourself aware in a botnet, to be tracked down by corporate AI.

the captchas you insert are storing cookies which log your browser activity, if you happen to own an android mobilephone which you also visit Jow Forums with sends the messages from the same network/wlan, then everyone knows that you're the faggot who's posting all the time. the profile for people that think they are anonym has been done long before you can even realise that things shifted this way . we are not in control of it and it can only go down the drain unless we commit to the system we were born in

i won't need your dna, but maybe some AI that is filtering your habits at this moment sorts it out if you are a threat to someone

Because free speech is not excuse. Modern western agenda oppressive af.

I want to discuss about ideas, and evaluate them on their own merit. Anonymity helps taking bias out of the picture. Also, since it's fun being a dumbass every once in a while, you don't have to care about being logically consistent throughout the site if you feel like shitposting a bit, and you don't have to worry about any repercussion IRL of your negative behaviour in the future. Jow Forums is great because allows both behaviors in their own places although sometimes the shit spills over.

On the internet

Don't tell your asl (age,sex,location)
Don't use Social media
Don't post pictures or selfies of yourself
Don't talk about your real life experiences

In a technical standpoint

Use a GNU/Linux operating system (Debian is a good choice)
Don't use a smartphone, use a flipphone
Never use WIFI, always use wired connection
Make sure your Router is opensource and has OpenWrt or LibreCMC flashed on it

I don't know what else there is, just don't be a paranoid fuck living in fear 24/7

Kek

i'm not a paranoid fuck, i just happened to wonder and kind of wanna predict where the future is heading and i can't do this with sticking my head to the ground so i like to be aware of those things, even though i will never be able to abuse them

Let me make this simple for you
>Anonymous
Can't be doxxed because they don't have a unique identifier
>Not Ananymous
Get's doxxed regularly and sent death threats when a party gets offended because people can compare something as minute as the fact the person got coffee from a Starbucks on 5th avenue once around 6 years ago and tweeted it

Psychos, thieves, random haters, stalkers, rotten legislators, corrupt law enforcement, clumsy bureaucrats, bigoted mobs, and greedy scum who want to monetize everything and turn everyone into obedient whores. The usual offenders. Privacy is cozy, and so is forgetting the inessentials. I'm 54, ordinarily sociable, a little urbane, and have had long and mutually revealing conversations with hundreds of people in public places, about a range of subjects only a dictionary would be adequate to name. And it is precisely because exchange of contact info wasn't a necessary precondition that the chit-chat could drift up to the level of discourse as often as it did. All important ideas are to some degree controversial, liable to generate more heat than light unless those who exchange them are free to set their own comfort level when it comes to irony, and disclose or not whatever their will bids without neurotic fretting over consequences, intended or not. Anonymity has always been an indispensable ingredient for building and maintaining civilization, creating high culture, and the mental tone that makes it what it is.

If I knew your name right now OP you'd better believe I'd show you why anonymity is important.

>if anonymity is so good, then why am i a leftist kike who doesn't like it?

Attached: a.png (682x496, 282K)

That fucker better give you that hyperdrive part

holy fak is this the phantom menace game? which system?

>Why do you guys think anonymity is so goot?
>No, don't give my your best reason.

Blow it out your ass!

>don't use a lynchpin of society as an excuse for doing something
what is your name? I think you should be punished for your bad opinion

You think gook moot doesn't collect your data?

>Why do you guys think having wheels in your car is so good? And no, don't use the 'it needs them to move around' excuse

remember when anons were creative? the absolute state of these newfags.

The absolute state of your post. Surely you realize the irony of using a 2017 meme?

I just posted an answer to stackOverflow.
It was solid, the OP later thanked me, but before his reply, some neckbeard went hurrdurr and linked me to some article about how to properly format and make my answers and what have i done wrong. All that just so he gets some of their silly reputiations points. That literally made me not want to help people there again. And its same on reddit, noone is honest because there history is linked to their profile and there is this public score of them, which limits their intentions. fuck that shit

Because it shifts the value from you to your posts.
You can't just can't rely on being a celebrity to have praises, you need to work your ass off.
Of course, it's not perfect, as you're still able to create weird collectives that pat themselves on the back, but it's much better than a system where everyone has names and fames and post counts, and everyone just ride the many times unwarranted fame.

This thread is making me paranoid.I need some coffee.

nice way to expose yourself newfag

Completely missed the point

You're taking your posts very seriously.

>what's 2+2?
>And no, don't give me the 4 excuse

says the person who is upset

22

More like you missed the point of the OP by using circular reasoning. Hurr I like anonymity because I don't have to register an account! Retard, that's a given in being anonymous on the internet...

1

Jow Forums is indeed the place with the worst posts on the internet, but it's also the place with the best posts.
It's a place with the essence of the ningen, the essence of doing everything, good or bad.
The ones that walk among the gods and dresses up the dog like a my little pony character to stick his dick in the animal.

>why is anonymity good, don’t use freedom
So I can shitpost without consequences.
So I can say unpopular opinions.
So I can say the word NIGGER and FUCKING KIKE without losing my job (even if I’m not some Jow Forumstard that speed those words like crazy).
Anonymity breeds a certain kind of groupthink that is different from non-anynous sites that breed a more “normie”-oriented groupthink, so I can look at enjoyable content without sifting through 40 year old mom minion memes.
So I can watch porn and not be ashamed.

At the end of the day, yeah, it’s free speech. It’s a whole new breed of free speech though. I can call you a fucking idiot with a baseless argument without severe consequences like losing my job or setting a bad example for my family.

Because I can post what I want without worrying about some deranged tranny going through my profile trying to doxx me or some shit

this pretty much. it's only gonna get worse form here too

/thread

I like saying stupid things without needing to worry about my image

I was wrong yesterday, but I'm right today. The me of yesterday is dead.

It's the late 90s phantom menace action/rpg game (for windows pc); I own the italian-localized version. Pic related was taken while using the custom "backstroke of the west" patch I made.

Attached: Screenshot_20180213_141046.png (1024x768, 208K)

i had the ps1 version. i thought it looked a little different but it's been years since i played.

The ps1 version is even more low-poly, IIRC. Surprisingly enough, the windows version runs great under wine, save for some glitches in skyboxes and such, but judging from gameplays posted on YT, it also happens under modern windows

so as not to be a target. an identity is a target on the internet, whether you like it or not.

trolls love to do that. they'll mimick and repost your sentences to ridicule you. or worse they'll just mimick enough to make it look like you then add a bunch of shit you didn't say. while they can do that to an anonymous person, it's futile.

and deepfakes will make it even worse

this too

it's really sad that trolls, doxxers, and hackers ruin it. one day they'll take it all away because of them

its nice that no one can gain notoriety here outside hashtagfags... and no one like them

so everyones opinion is equally invalid

lol, a followup, they actually went to some meme review with my post and 5 users decided to delete it and they converted my answer to the comment end hid it from others.
Just so they get their meme points attached to their names because publicity.

Attached: Screen Shot 2018-09-10 at 12.39.47.png (748x814, 213K)

I have the right to say racist stuff without repercussion

No log in screen. That's one less password I have to record.

Stops strawmanning

Jow Forums would be a characterless shithole if it were tightly modded.

I'll usually believe what people say when I know who said it, but if user says something I question it. Anonymity promotes critical thinking.

Because it allows for discourse without things turning into a fucking popularity contest. I'm not saying the discourse is always positive, it simply allows for it.

Because I don't like being an object for the FacebookAppleGoogle corps to earn money from by forcing shit adds down my throat

{and so I can spam my memes in peace}

Attached: IMG_20180906_131109.jpg (900x1068, 136K)

are you dumb? all of your shit is being recorded and collected and shared with others

It reminds me of my algorithm course, where we had to do one thing in O(x) but not in O(y)

it makes me a bit less scared of other people (if we're talking about imageboard anonymity)

>Google corps to earn money from by forcing shit adds down my throat
>proceeds to solve google captcha

I suspect people are less honest when they have an identity.

why do you think the antithesis is good?

Check

Attached: image.jpg (446x336, 96K)

You would actually waste less time by not having to constantly fill out captchas

/bread
Remember to sage, boys.

Doxx yourself, faggot and I will help you understand.
