I need a VPN provider that takes privacy seriously and will let me torrent a lot. I'm in the US. If the VPN provider was located somewhere far away from US/Five Eyes countries that would be nice, but I don't want to sacrifice speed. I'm a VPN noob, are popular providers like torguard and nordvpn good?

Expect various replies claiming their VPN provider of choice doesn't log anything.
>Because the website says so!

How do I find balance between not wanting to fall into a honeypot trap and wanting a professional VPN service? I think any service that adequately satisfied my paranoia would be super slow or niche

Ask yourself, what would it take for someone to risk their head for your potential evildoing?
How expensive would it be?
There you have the answer.

My doing isnisn't even that evil. I just want to torrent and read subversive literature in peace

give one (1) solid proof that a given provider actually does not log, other than believing what they say

Then most VPN will do the trick faggot, just pick one hosted in a country that is not USA's bitch and you'll be just fine.

Unless your 'subversive' litterature is CP, then there's an easy trick: just kill you degenerate self ;)

Hello sir i recommend best vpn called INDIAN VPN very good !!!

That's my whole point.

So Nord would be OK? If I got that I could choose between servers in lots of weird countries. They say they don't log but ofc I don't know

everyone keeps logs and their privacy claims are utter bullshit. if you want a semi-secure VPN host your own server and configure OpenVPN. VPN alone isn't enough to keep you 'safe' therefore take care about DNS leaks and such.
>nothing is untracable, it just depends how badly they want to find you

ITT: Reflections of Trusting Trust

Unless you build your computer component by component and write all your own software and tools, your system is compromised by default and a VPN doesn't matter in the slightest.

Slippery slope.
Next stop: solipsism.

Either do one, or don't complain about the other. The best you can hope for is trustworthiness and how acceptable that is to you largely depends upon what you're doing that you don't want the local authorities to know about, and what the penalty for being caught doing it is.

Bottom line is that if you trust a computer, any computer let alone a network of computers... you are a fool.

Nord Vpn
Along with setting your dns > located under network adapter as
1.1.1.1
and the second bar
1.0.0.1

dnsleaktest.com/

use this website to test dns leak
if you are find it should only show one server and it should not be the same name as your i.s.p

I live in the EU and I never got any problems with my torrents using Nord. The speed and server choices are also decent (I turn it off for gayming though)

You should simply search for something with a good price: I ended up picking Nord because they had a discount for a 2year subscription at the time

This is also a solution, and a cheaper one on the long term. Now if you're not a terrorist or some gay shit you should be fine my dude

Which VPN can I use to post on Jow Forums?

AirVPN allows you to set up port forwarding through their tunnel instead of your router. Big plus to stay connectable if you're on private trackers.

just get a seedbox if you are gonna minly use it for torrenting

gonna have to buy a pass, goy

I use private Internet access. Cheap, fast, use on computer, 2 phones and TV box at same time. The one time they were asked for a customers information by the feds they said they couldn't comply because they didn't store logs. This could have changed now as that was a few yrs ago , I only use my vpn casually anyway as I'm not up to anything too dodgy.

This, most are blocked, but it's a range not individual. You need pass for that.

PIA is most likely an NSA operation. Anything US based should be highly suspect
>inb4 muh court case didn't show a log
Yeah goy, that's what they want you to believe. Better to use something like mullvard where they don't even require an email or username and recommend only crypto or even cash.

I've heard Cryptostorm is good.

Luckily I don't live in the US and the extend of my activity is legal porno and torrents. Doubt the nsa cares about that. Mainly use the vpn so I can watch porn at work using their WiFi without getting another meeting with hr...

I guess that's fine. I still wouldn't use anything US based and I'm an Amerimutt

AirVPN. Only Openvpn and very customizable. They are also very transparent on their forums

This.

>those speeds
>that shitty client
>that instability
more like mullbad

PIA is more of a marketing service than anything else. They lease all if their infrustucture and scale up/down depending on their affiliate marketing.

Good chance the folks who are leaving them machines ARE logging you.

>I can't get invited to a decent private tracker and think using a VPN is going to magically stop me from getting these strongly worded letters from my ISP: the thread.

Try using trackers that aren't shit. Also, it doesn't matter what VPN you use, expect it to slow your shit down. You're looking at about a 5-10% decrease in speed when connecting to servers in Clapistan and torrenting is literally not even worth bothering with seeds outside the US because you'll be pulling dialup speeds. (Okay not really, but not far off either)

The fact is that if you don't want to seriously sacrifice speed, you're going to have to go with one of the very well-funded VPNs, which are about as trustworthy as your ISP. If you don't want to seriously sacrifice security, you're going to have to deal with ridiculous latency and slow as fuck transfer speeds.

>>If you don't want to seriously sacrifice security, you're going to have to deal with ridiculous latency and slow as fuck transfer speeds.
Calling BS on this. I've been using AirVPN for years and I get 80% my download speed and 100% my upload speed. Upload speed is what's important for private trackers anyway, so it's a non-issue.

>most likely
Not an argument, sweetie.

>muh not an argument
Snowden revealed that all US tech infrastructure is backdoored and subject to secret FISA warrents, sweetie. Only a fool use something located there.
