Higher end bikes are light weight. My bike is like 30lbs, which is pretty light for a bike with huge tires like that. And no, they get more traction.

It's one sided. No, it never hits me. It's lighter and more efficient. It also balances the bike because the gears/drivetrain are on the opposite side. Plus it looks COOL AS FUCK. I get asked about it like 10x a day.
