If waiting a week for a GPU to release is a big deal, then you're probably at an unhealthy state of addiction in gaming.

>me waiting 7nm AMD GPU to deliver

next year bro!

>tfw you know people that sold their 1080ti to preorder the 2070/2080
Hahahahaha.
1080ti only came out last year. Its a beast of a card as is, and you can get them around 66% cheaper used than the 2080 is new.
This is a gen to skip for sure.

At 66% of the 2080 price I mean. To clarify.

that feeling when a 2080 is basically better than every titan released to date and only costs 699$.

bullshit show me a 300$ 1080ti.

cheapest is 500$.

This. I have to admit that the ti was a card that serve you for years. Maybe even skip the next gen.

this is honestly the only option if you're looking to upgrade now, pascal is too old and rtx is a scam

Is there any info when the new entry- and mid-level cards are going to be released?

I'm just looking to get a cheap, most bang for your buck kind of GPU, basically I'm looking for a successor to the 1050Ti.

Attached: DANJnHYXcAMCFVB.jpg large.jpg (698x909, 154K)

How is waiting 1 year the best option if you want to upgrade now?

Try $799

>Vega slower than a 1070TI
What kind of worthless benchmark is this?

say it with me

3% YIELDS

it has nvidia gameworks features that stay enabled even if you turn them off in the settings

good shit my man

just play some older games meanwhile like Alan Wake, Deus ex: human revolution and Dishonored

it'll be a question of how much can you leverage tensor cores to do new workloads like DLSS instead of using a different AA

I doubt there is going to be any. The low-mid tier next gen GPU's are probably going to be overpriced, so you might as well just stay with a 1050ti/1060/1060-6gb. Since surely those cards will outperform the 2030/2040.

>On a game that is notirious for nvidia bloatware, on a game with its own special score system, on a game that benefits quite a bit from cpu ability, on a game I can run with my fucking 280 despite being told by ciuntless graphs I shouldn't, with benchmarks released befor the nda of monday

Hmmmm *kvetching intensifies*

No wonder they had to release TI version now that 2080 is essentially identical in perf with 1080 ti except with hairworks #2

Well, that would suck. I was hoping with cryptofags calming down a little bit that I might be able to snatch some sort of 2050Ti for 150ish$. I'll wait another few months anyway, so maybe there's going to be some news until then.

that's founders edition you dumb cunt buy some chink no name 2080 for 700$ in a week and 600$ in 3months.

I really hope they all sold their gtx 10 series card so the prices will be dropped hard.
Cmon goy "The more you buy the more you save" me.

>me waiting 7nm AMD GPU to deliver
AMD said this year won't be any consumer grade cards on 7nm, only Vega20 for workstation/meme learning.
next big release is Navi for consoles and 'mid-range' Navi between 2019-2020.dunno about High-End/Enthusiast cards on Navi-arch

>don't play new games or games in general that much
>a mid range card like a Polaris can serve me well
>I dodged all this shit before it even happened
It feels so good. I probably spend more on popcorn watching you guys melting down than you spend on meme cards.

Navi is supposedly a Polaris successor so probably rx 680/70/60 next year with performance of gtx 1080/70/60 if we're lucky but more likely vega 56/rx580/70

good luck, there is currently barely any 2080 under $800

who's 980Ti race here? fuck millenial cards

770 2GB here, life is better when you're half a decade behind. Everthing is cheaper, and can be enjoyed fully at your leasure according to your schedule.
Stop leaving your pubic hair decorated neckbearded visage open eagerly awaiting every drop of semen to depart the diseased jewrys mutilated cock.

>770 2GB here
had that but bought a 1070 for 360€ on germoney, felt good and price was alright i guess

I usually spend between 150-200 jewro on GPU upgrades whenever i need the extra power.
360€ is a good deal as long as it was a while ago, you can almost get a 1080ti for that used now.

>RX480 is better than RX580
What the flying fuck is this shit?

Getting a used card after the mining craze is not a good idea though.

Just ask the seller if he thinks it'll be any good at mining, they're like vegans or 420 fags they will tell you their life story right away.
Also, it's a lot less common than you'd think, especially when you use local sites. If you go on eBay etc you'll be dealing with chinks, gypsies, etc. and you're guaranteed to get fucked.

That's why walk into a familiar shop and buy my card there.

This is demonstrably false. We have all had or know people who have cards that worked hard for 5 or more years that will still work today in systems that were run 24/7 during their prime. Most of the mining cards were also bios modded to run lower voltages. 1070 Ti's also came out near the end of the mining craze, so if you are afraid of a mining card, they are a safer bet.

Hey it's your money. I've been buying used for a over a decade and i've never been burned.

This. With the exception of a GTX 660, my last 5 cards were all used. Funny thing is the GTX 660 is the only one of them that has issues booting.

I feel like a massive idiot. I was running a 8350 /280x system till 2 years ago. I only had the 280x and the 8350 from 2014 to 2016. I got antsy so I just upgraded while my job was still paying me well. I got a 1070 like 3 weeks after it came out for 429, got a 6700k/z170-a combo a little bit after. I haven't played SHIT in two years to use this hardware and now it's so out of date.

Fuck this man, I'm getting too old now for this shit. I should have just held on to my other setup and waited to upgrade till early next year.

I had two cards from the 600 series, a 670 and a 560Ti, both of them fried. I guess you can just get unlocky with those

Show your coin wallet.

Enjoy.

If even half of those who bought GPUs in January would have as good ventilation as pic attached, I would be very surprised.

In German mining-groups, they all scream "take care of the temperature", yet every single day, people ask how they can save burned cards or how they can still use warranty to get new ones. Some of them have the audacity to still offer it on ebay, thinking that "private sale, no warranty" applies for them selling a broken GPU as a "barely used one".

Fucking miner shit stop stealing our gaming cards!

I need to buy drugs online just like everyone else. Get me some Clonzolam. Comfie as fuck.

No one needs to buy drugs. I hope you get in jail.

>360€ is a good deal as long as it was a while ago
yeah last sommer with MSI cashback and a promotion from MediaMarkt here. normally the price was around 430-450€

I have a GTX 780. I was gonna buy a 2080 but people are freaking the fuck out and its giving me second thoughts. Should I just try to get a little more mileage out of this fucking 780?

I'm on a 4770k + 780 and I'm upgrading this year with the 9900k and 2080

Only retards buy a GPU every generation, my 780 can't even reach high settings for most newer games

true for unoptimized games but i expect the new DLSS to be the real deal, i dont understand why nvidia diddnt shill it instead of gay tracing

>23% better than a 1080ti
what a disappointment
who the fuck is spending $1400 on this shit

anything below 1080 would be brand suicide if they arent selling it for 200 bucks

imo cause normies only see a big difference with gaytrace light, Jow Forumsentleman know what's up tho

There's no real information to inform that decision thus far. Additionally you fail to remember Vega's launch, which was only actually competitive with the 1080, a card beat handily by its successor the 1080 Ti. With that said until actual benchmarks are released on the Turing series cards a purchase is a poor choice.

Attached: 1507409127020.jpg (514x571, 52K)

bad goy, listen to the miners.

People are speculating on a different segmentation model that we've seen in years past, with the 50's and 60's being released under a different segment (GTX vs. RTX) likely due to excision of features like Tensor and RT cores. No official word on that so far.

Attached: 1507449394551.png (427x559, 307K)

This isn't new, the 1080 was a close parallel to the 980Ti. The big difference is the cost, but after hearing about the new power control model, it's fairly evident that Nvidia spared no cost. New balanced power in, better phase switching, on top of efficiency improvements. A "new" node, to top it off with the same TDP as a 1080Ti. Scanner and Boost 4.0 and the features it integrates are equally interesting. And as icing on the cake getting access to Tensor cores and RT cores is going to be interesting outside of games.

>The 1080 was a close parallel to the 980Ti

No it wasn't. The 1070 is close to the 980Ti, a 1080 crushes it.

It depends on workload, the most common setup is 1080p, still to this day. In such a case, the 980Ti and the 1080 are closely paralleled, as you move up in resolution you can reach a peak of approximately 15% increase depending on game. Naturally in raw compute tasks the 1080 wins hands down, but that doesn't necessarily translate to the intended gaming performance. I'd hardly consider it substantial.

Attached: 1510332777190.gif (415x212, 2.85M)

>he doesnt know

the 1070 is roughly equivalent to a 980ti for games. 1080 shits all over the 980ti
>using 1080p as a benchmark for a high end card
youre fucken retarded

Attached: 1537006095475.jpg (250x250, 10K)

i never understand why people wont buy cards matching their monitor, why would you use a 1080 for 1080p unless its a shitass optimized game like pupg which you still cant play in 144fps

Miners will keep amd alive as long as their cards put out rtx 2080 power for much lower price. Pretty much the only reason vega sold out consistently was miners

Why are the 1080ti results so low?

Attached: ffxv high.png (876x776, 577K)

Your result will probably reduce to the one you see in the chart after the next driver update ;)

bought a 780 ti for 150€
nae nae'd

do you really wanna live your life not having been raytraced?

You may be a bit loud. You may be a little too hot headed. You may drink a bit too much without my guidance and you don't go beat up that Asian guy in the leather jacket when he slaps your wifes ass.

But I love you nonetheless.

ETH is dead

And something will replace it as always

It's not happening until 2020. By then Nvidia will have something far superior.

is 2080ti really 3x the performance as a 1060 I never really trusted these benchmarks like would a game run at 60 on a 1060 but 180 on a 2080ti that sounds kinda wrong.

About 2.3x is my guess

That is a dogshit 1080ti, my stock AIB one does 4675 out of the box

>AIB

Are you saying I should have bought a shitty FE blower card instead?

No but that is what they tested faggot so it will be slower than your AIB card obviously.

fpbp

Attached: AMD™ Motto.png (353x414, 24K)

No fucking shit, I'm saying that makes the 2080 result even less impressive if the only version of the 1080ti it can beat is the FE that throttles like crazy.

Here, but it is struggling to get 4K60 on the new titles. It looks like 2080ti is an answer to this issue.

770 is not even that old. i'm running rift on 770 2gb, just have to crank down details in most games

Attached: aYJGe4YM_700w_0.jpg (700x700, 68K)

I don't think its even that more like 0.8x or some thing.

>Vega's launch, which was only actually competitive with the 1080, a card beat handily by its successor the 1080 Ti.
dat delusional
Look at OP's pic, the mid-range 1070 ti btfo top AMD card. So much for FineWine Technology

1070ti isn't midrange.

Probably that 1080t is a reference, not overclocked AIB one.

Nope, they are done with it. No more fall for the mining meme.

intergrated and 1030/1050 is low end

1060/980 is mid range

1070/1070ti/vega RX is high

1080ti/2080ti/newer titains are Extream.

the RTX titian will have its own architecture like the V and not be Turing the demo of the epic unreal benchmark/demo thing at 60fps wasn't a 2080ti it was the unreleased RTX titian that's not even Turing

but when the markets flooded with cheap 1070s from ex mining cards 980ti(oc)/1070/1070ti/1080 and maybe 2070 if it drops in price will become the new midrange.

there will be fuckloads of shops selling "refurbished" 1070 with 12month store warranty when the miners dumb them.

there will be like literally 800,000 flooding the market.

prob wont happen to mid to late 2019 thou or maybe early 2019 when it becomes apparent what the Intel and AMD gpus are.

The reviwers and nvidia say that 1070 ti is the mid range card.
engadget.com/2016/07/09/nvidia-gtx-1070-review/

What GPU can you buy that isn't a complete fucking rip off?

another 235 in card points brings it down to ~$450

think ill give my 980ti to the nephew

Attached: fefe.png (440x471, 25K)

Exactly like you said, like shitass optimized games like pubg. And down the road there will be more unoptimized shitass games. Meanwhile i sit comfy on my 1070 and 1080p combo for the next few years until it cant minimum 60fps on 1080p max settings any more or gay tracing takes off
