AirPods

Oculus Rift and the wave of cheap VR headsets that followed.

Its pretty niche but they are very good products, and you can now get functioning Microsoft ones with room scale tracking and two controllers for around $200 (You just have to have Windows 10 and be willing to deal with Windows BS, not a big issue right now though because it works with unactivated LTSB edition). That type of technology did not exist for less than like $20,000 before this, and now the average consumer has access to it.

sorry senpai, VR is a meme once again.
and I just realized that VR will never be good.
unless we get some matrix like shit that plugs directly into your brain.

VR as a concept itself isn't a meme. We can't jump up in technology. We'll have to wait for the technological gap to fill, babyboy.

I said since he died.

You just asked for genuine innovation, and the devices on the market are genuine innovation... and they are diverse as well, all three popular desktop headsets use different tracking methods, Vive uses sweepline triangulation, Oculus uses IR webcams, Windows MR uses inside out IR tracking.

But all the headsets integrated multiple existing technologies into a consumer facing device, if you don't think that's innovation I don't know what you're smoking.

VR is great, and is insanely popular in Japan. Theyre way ahead software wise than we are for VR.

Wireless charging.

that guy Steve Jobs was a legit bad person

I am glad he is gone

AirPods came out five years after his death.

Might as well also include the Apple Watch since it's leading the game in smartwatches and can now perform an ECG, among other health features.

The iPad Pro
Microsoft Surface PC integration and concept

>Implying a 1-lead ECG on your wrist is anything other than a marketing gimmick with no medical benefit

>EarPods in development for around 3 years
>released with iPhone 5 in 2012
>AirPods basically identical in form
>obviously thought of from the beginning as the eventual path for the headphone

Released at, does not mean 'thought of at'. Jobs designed and thought of the AirPods. Named them too. They are the most 'Apple' Apple product since the iPod.

>instant ECGs sent to doctors in seconds
>would rather take a trip to a hospital and spend 2 hours minus the journey
>I-I-its just a gimmick!!

How upset are you? You are so, so angry that this is huge and Apple did it first. Either that or you're a mega retard NPC brainlet.

>t. delusional weeb

>make shitty copy of Fitbit's tech
>WE MADE IT FIRST REALLY WE DID
Fuck off street shitter.

If anything, innovation died because of him. Getting normalfags involved with tech has been a disaster.

If you think VR is a meme, you've got the foresight of Steve Ballmer

Are you fucking retarded? Standard hospital ECGs have 12 leads so you can't even diagnose anything with any degree of accuracy apart from maybe your heart stopping. Any doctor who hasn't bought his degree will throw that shit out since you don't have II-III readings, nevermind aV* and V1-6.

Who needs ECG leads by the heart anyway?

That's because he steered the market towards milking normies thus killing all innovation.

He wouldn't have died if he had listened to his doctors. But, noooo, he thinks he's smarter than his doctors and chose to treat his curable cancer with holistic medicine. Literally got killed by his own hubris.

If you want to be that reductive, you could just say Steve Jobs came up with the idea for AirPods back in 2001 with the original iPod earbuds, since they were the direct predecessor to 2012's EarPods. Besides, there is no known public fact that he even thought about true wireless earphones at any point in his life.

Also, it's one thing to have an idea for something, and another to be able to engineer and manufacture it into a usable, affordable, mass-market consumer product. It's a long process, and not everything Apple works on sees the light of day.

S

I miss Steve Jobs. Easily the most innovative man of our lifetimes.
At least we still have Elon Musk.

>sorry senpai, VR is a meme once again.
That's what you think until you realize it's being used to demonstrate tech demos to management wherein you can interact with a 3d model of an army vehicle and pull it apart ala ironman to see the parts that predicatively require maintenance.

>Innovation died with this man
>Innovation
>this man
>The man who never invented a single new thing
>was just really good at playing a salesman role convincing others to buy his products using existing technologies

Why are you posting Microsoft memes here?

>heart rate monitor

Those are two different things Pradeep. I know English isn't your language but you mongoloids are supposed to be ok at least at it.

It works because the subtext of your argument is that Steve Jobs was the root of genuine originality.

Unfortunately for you, he didn't make the first computer, tablet computer, MP3 player, etc... he only successfully marketed them to hipsters and the mainstream

Name one piece of technology he originated, as opposed to refined such that it can be mass manufactured. All of his basic ideas came from others, but in his time he was simply better at implementing them than anyone else, and since market growth and the efficiency of economies of scale have a synergy that snowballs on its own if you enjoy an implementation monopoly for a short while, you only have to start slightly ahead of the curve for its long-term effect to be hugely amplified, as long as you are at least competent at managing a very large enterprise, as well as willing to endure the long grind to stick with it, stay in control, and get superrich. Tons of innovative people simply don't enjoy that kind of game, and retire to academia or the tropics or whatever once they're set to for life, enough to stay comfy. Most plutocrats are rather pathological, but not exceptionally inventive, and Jobs was fairly typical of them.
