After last year's they would be saying fuck you to customers if they throttled again the fucking phones.

>its-actually-faster/
>they just undid the throttle from ios11

They once again made everything bigger, making the 4" devices much harder to use than they used to be.

Obviously they're doing this because giant-phone normies think everything's too small. But in that case why did they buy a giant phone?!?

My 8+ feels faster. And all the glitches I've encounted on iOS11 are gone. Like Twitter lag, the keyboard not popping up, and spotlight is actually instant now. There seems to be a home button delay though. About a half a second. Or maybe it was always like that and I'm just paying more attention now.

Soup Jow Forums, I'm an unironic paid Apple shill.
You might recognize our agency's threads like:

We focus primarily on tech blogs and the like with hacked Disqus accounts that we can buy for like 1000/$50 on the dark web to get a real post history and identity. Me, I got Jow Forums with a few other guys.

>pretend to need to (X), recommend Apple products to ourselves
>enter non-Apple thread and convince people to consider Apple
>get shekels

>make thread but it devolves into Apple getting shit on
>no shekels

When we can't get any good shilling going, we'll just crap on the competition, THEN try to slip in a suggestion to try Apple products.
>OMG i own this HP/MS/Samsung/LG product and it SUCKS
>coshill comes in the thread, plugs (Apple product)
>lololol loonix has no gaymes, windows master race!

Mostly a side job and I make $100 every month or so for no effort, but I'm quitting because they bullshitted me once on a check, plus I'm graduating so now I'm outing them.

Most Android phones are still getting only 1-2 years of Android updates, even Google's own Pixel phones are guaranteed only 3 years:

What are you talking about they barely changed anything this time

Depends on your phone, my one plus 3t from 2016 still gets updates.

>Oneplus 3T
>Released in November 2016
>Last update will be Android Pie released in August 2018
Amazing, almost two years of support.

1 year is pitiful, 2 years is almost understandable, but it's not like a 5 year-old droid is unusable even with the old OS, right? Anyhow my 2nd hand 5s is still going fine, battery life has probably dropped a little though.

jesus christ this stupid talking point again. Phones with old batteries were slightly throttled to extend life for the consumer, apple has already fixed this by cheap replacements and allowing users to choose in the new version of iOS. you guys really have to try harder than this.

guy with a jewish Mac caricature is helping GOOGLE with stupid posts like this. the irony

ex- iPhone user: it gets worse especially for iPhones older than 2 years. The iPhone 6 with iOS 11 is basically unusable with iOS 12. This isn't even taking into account the harsher throttling iPhones with old batteries get. iPhones were a mistake. The new iCuck X gets the bottom of the barrel displays so webm related happens so you're fucked whether you get a brand new shitter or the old ones.

phonearena.com/news/Display-burn-in-tests_id101247

>South Korean site Cetizen has performed a test with three OLED-equipped phones — the Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and iPhone X. The goal of the test is to determine how bad the burn-in can be after 500 hours of non-stop screen-on time with the same picture on each device.

>So, what were the results? After keeping the same picture on all three phones for a total of 510 hours, the researcher pulled up an all-gray image on the devices and examined the damage. As you can see in the photo, all three phones show varying degrees of burn-in — this is now permanent. But the amount of burn-in varies between the three devices.

>The Note 8 seems to have been damaged the most — the burn-in is so clearly readable that you'd think it's an actual picture. The Galaxy S7 performed surprisingly well, considering it's 2016 technology. And, looking at the iPhone X, we see the least traces of burn-in, but they are obviously still there.

Attached: Top-to-bottom.jpg (1419x1347, 783K)

What's different is these oled displays are so dirt cheap they get the burn in faster than higher end amoled displays used in samsung notes 8/9. You're paying $1,000+ and getting a dollar store oled display? Can't justify that desu.

YMMV obviously but in general iPhone displays are one of the most low quality displays you can get on high end flagships.

I actually hate iOS and have to use an old 5S lying around the house because my Android phone got broken but I have to give credit where it's due. I don't like iOS but the new version is faster than the previous one. That is all.

Thank you, pajeet.

Unless if you go to Samsung, which according to most Android users is a joke (and odds are even they will remove the jack eventually).
Even chinkshit like OnePlus which was praised by the androidfags is dropping the headphone jack.

>>an itoddler subhuman thinks lagOS crippleware is at all comparable to S5 security updates
You're right. iOS 12 is a major software update and the S5 firmware update is some very minor shit.
What is the S5 stuck on? Android 5 or 6 if I had to guess. That's fucking sad.

I've had a gs5 since 2015 with no burn in. You have to leave it on retardedly long for that to happen. The only ones I've seen burn-in happen on are on display at best buy where the home screen is on all day every day.

The GS5 doesn't have an OLED screen either.

iPhones cost 2-3x what an equivalent Android phone costs.

And get 1.5x the length of support. I'd rather buy a new phone every 2 years for $500 than one every 6 years for $1500.

>iPhones cost 2-3x what an equivalent Android phone costs.
the only iPhone that costs $1,500 is the 512gb XS Max. An equivalent Android to that phone would be the 512gb Note 9 that costs $1,250. For $500 you're looking at something like an Oneplus 6 that has 64gb, but it's not really equivalent to an actual flagship phone, Android or iPhone. No waterproofing, no wireless charging, average cameras etc. A proper equivalent would be something like a Pixel 2 or Galaxy S9 which start around $600-700 vs. the XR starting at $749 or XS at $899.

>and get 1.5x the length of support.
iPhone 5 got 5 years, 5S will get 6. Android phones get 2 to 3 years. So 2x is closer to the truth. So you're basically getting updates twice as long for a few hundred dollars more.

lagOS gets 1 year of updates and then 4 years of crippleware kill switches
so it's actually $1500 every year

pajeets aren't people

My iPhone 6S plus just hit the three year anniversary. I've changed the battery once for like $30. The phone cost me about $700, not counting two free months of service.

All in all I think it was well worth the price. The phone has held up great. The Android phones I had prior to this had much lower build quality, even the flagship Nexus phone at the time.

Not noticing any difference except the Books app looks weird.

You aren't nearly cool enough to hang out with these counterculture geniuses.

I regret going from 6s Plus to S8+. The glass on the S8 is fragile as fuck and the curved glass + 18:9 aspect ratio actually makes the 6.2 inch screen seem smaller than the 5.5 inch.

Apple is the most jewey company out there and the 6s Plus is only an OK phone but it's a lot better than Samshit.

Probably try a used Nexus once the lease is up.

That's 100% due to the brightness of the display.
