I have an i7 7820x. How fucked am I. What should I get instead?

A Code of Conduct.

Your fine. That's a solid proc.

Why would you be fucked? It's a perfectly good processor.
I'm using an FX-8150, the shittest of the original FX-8000 series and it's still going strong after 7 years.

damn that's good to hear!

Don't fall for the "You must upgrade every six months" bullshit, recently the difference in new processors has been slowing so it's far more viable to keep using an older CPU for a long time.
Hell, I even game with that 8150, and use an oculus rift on it.

You have people here still toiling with the 2500k and a sizeable chunk with the 4770k and 4790k

I highly doubt you'd need a CPU change for the next 3-5 years

Don't fall for AMD marketers forcing you to switch to Ryzen, buy a new CPU when yours can't go anymore

I also own one. if anything you struck a good deal in comparison to the new 8 core i9 9th gen.

>MSI
>elite
Have they improved recently? Because last I heard MSI was terrible.

Spectre & Meltdown patches disable hyper threading & majorly reduce performance across the board for all Intel cpus

Lol, you're glowing nigger.

Yeah...for datacenters and enterprise products

Normal users aren't affected and the 7820X is neither

>intlel
>skylel-x
lol

>security flaws dont matter

>What should I get instead?
Besides medical inspection? Nothing at this point. Not worth changing the platform for minimal gains. Unless you want to sell it to someone who actually knows how to use it and get something cheaper.

It seems alright
But why the fuck does it even exist. Clocks lower than 8700k, 140w tdp when it runs identical stock and boost speed as 8 core 105w 2700x

lol PNY, gross.

Why would you do that when 1800x/2700x exist?

Something vulnerable to Spectre 1-5 and Meltdown

>elite tier brands:
>what my dad bought me
>average good brands:
>what my kindergarten friend johny has
>shit tier brands:
>the rest

>tfw msi x470 board
I really fucking regret it and wish I spent the extra 40 on a board with bclk and vcore offset

>But why the fuck does it even exist
intel.
