It does. It's just not as circlejerky as America's.

too busy watching akhmed pound their wives

Because they get paid $24,000 after 3 years of university

why does America have basically no automotive industry?

based and redpilled

plenty, they're just low-key. e.g. ever heard of ASML? the CPUs of probably every single one of your devices was made with their tech.

Hmm, I don't know. Let's take a look

>fuck huge taxes
thanks EU
>retarded laws
thanks EU
>60% of your salary and income must go to the state
thanks EU

Lel. That's not even minimum wage in my country.

>60% of your salary and income must go to the state
Literally where do you live?

A combination of:

- Stupid web laws
- Hard employment laws that make a company waaaaay too liable and increase the risk for entrepreneurs
- Language barriers

maybe in eastern europe.

This. Amerimutt and education are like oil and water

>Language barriers
>higher english literacy than the US

Seething amerimutts, you will never have your own personal Black Mesa Research Facility.

because after WWII Europe focused on rebuilding (a second time, not to mention USSR) while America had a surplus in NEETbucks and invested it into bullshit, Vietnam caused an uptake in college graduates (to avoid being drafted), moon landings, other shit, made CS a field that more people went into, thus America had and still has the advantage when it comes to "CS"
not to say the European programmers are bad, some of the best are European, they just happened to have entered the game later

>Implying
It does, just not what the, may I say american, average thinks when hearing tech. Servers and fancy front end application are surely locked up in us companies, no doubt, but embedded shit, smart devices like refrigerators, or complex control systems of industrial complexes? All done in the EU.
The source for that is pretty easy to detect too, while countries like France, Germany, UK slept through the Internet revolution pathing a free way for american companies, the "classic" industries were and are always the one to keep and present, those got pushed and are in complement still ahead of american products, making up the almost luxurious signs "made in germany", "made in france" etc.

I hoped that helped a bit. For more information check out european "tech" conventions. You'll see quickly that they just have a whole other focus than the current US and Asian ones.

Attached: 6VgeqXv.jpg (826x960, 54K)

Europe has no "startup culture" where one trick ponies which never made a single cent of profit have market caps in the billions. they do have a lot of mostly mid-sized technology companies which make a lot of world-class products and also a few giants like bosch, siemens and whatnot.

Apple, Amazon, MS are easily replaceable.

Who's gonna replace ARM? Philips? Bosch? ASML? SAP? Siemens?

>why does Europe have basically no tech industry?
welfare states always stagnate.

Non of those have anything to do with the EU.

Maybe some the EU wide laws, but until very recently they were doing a better job than the individual states.

Client facing software has a bigger market for American companies, due to having a single language AND also a fluent English speaking market in Europe.

That's the same reason China also has huge IT companies, by just catering to a Chinese speaking market.

Man, in Portugal it seems to be booming. IT specifically.

>thread about europe
UUUUHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOO WE GOTS TA TALK ABOUT AAAAMMMMEEEEERRRRRRIIIICAAAAAAA

Am in Italy, that's not far from the truth...

i'm american. i have a tech nice job here but i was interested in getting some new experiences. i applied for a job in england as a hardware engineer. i wont mention the company, but you've all heard of it. when they told me the salary offer i was flabbergasted. it was about 40% less than what i was making now. i told them what i make and they were basically like yeah, we can't come close to that.
and i don't even get paid that much considering what i do.

upboated and subscribed

Can't even blame companies in my country for that, really. If you want to pay your worker 2000€ monthly, you have to pay a total of about 3500-3600€, because 2000€ a month means the government basically considers you a "rich" person (even though that's barely above middle class). Since income tax is collected on payment, the cost of it falls on the company. The more you want to pay your workers, the more and more the income tax grows. It gets to a point where for every euro you want to raise a worker's salary, you have to give another one to the state. It's fucking sickening.

Portugal, btw.

Attached: portugalol.png (346x514, 86K)

BTW, this is just income tax. Our country is filled to the brim with taxes in everything.
VAT is 23% for every single product.
Petrol products (gas) has an extra tax on it, ON TOP OF VAT, and it is multiplicative with VAT.
Municipal taxes for terrains you own.
Sanitation tax.
A fucking public TV broadcaster tax, even though the public TV station runs ads and shitty telemarketing products 24/7.
The list goes on and on. There's taxes in fucking everything. I'm sure they would've taxes oxygen by now if they could. Fucking dumb ass country.
For all the shit you Murrican tards get for guns and Trump, at least you got it right when it comes to taxation. Fuck all these people.

Here in The Netherlands we have loads of tech companies.
Just no big marketing/ad platforms.

It's a common knowledge that wages are higher in the US, especially in IT.

>at least you got it right when it comes to taxation.

They run massive government deficits.
Lowering taxes is just a trick to gain votes, lowering spending is what really counts.

You can stop seething now.

Attached: large_hadron_collider.jpg (990x610, 432K)

Mfw my Eastern Euro shithole is already on par with Portugal in regards to living standards.

>SAP?

Literally nobody who works with SAP doesn't absolutely hate it.

we get paid even less and we have tech industry

t.working at yandex for pennies

Attached: 34_m20053jkt1AM.png (297x275, 178K)

The values on that table aren't real. Almost by 10%.

I also wouldn't call 2000€ barely above middle class, it would be considered a good pay.

Also we get paid 2 extra months per year.

>portuguese that pays taxes.

Nordic countries are the best Tech Industries in the World. OP's post smells like american or some other shitskins post.

Amazing, isn't it? Countries that were under Soviet rule not even 20-30 years ago are already surpassing Portugal when it comes to GDP, living standards, wages, the list goes on.
Meanwhile, Portugal is stuck on a never ending downwards spiral, where the guilt keeps getting pushed from one party to the other and no one really wants to do a god damn thing about anything that actually matters. All superficial changes to keep them in power and get more votes.
I'm seriously done with this country. There's no point in staying, no matter how much I love it here, I know there's no future here for me. I'll spend my entire life wage slaving away for a miserable pay that could easily be ten-fold in any other country in the EU, maybe even more in the US. Paying taxes out my ass to support all the pensions of people that never paid a cent of taxes in their lives, to support the shittiest healthcare system in Europe that has a 1 year delay on urgent oncology appointments. And in all this, I know for a fact that when my time to retire finally comes, there won't be a cent left for my own pension, so I'll have to save my own money whenever that time finally comes.
It's so fucking sad and fucked up.

retarded politicians making the whole market uncompetetive, except for local services.
They're also hellbent on destroying the digital market by making advertisement on websites unattractive.
The last exit to complete american digital domination is something called "net-ID", a log-in standard like the whole "log-in with google/ facebook" jive, but it doesn't steal your data and is compatible with EU-regulations.
Cookies are dead, log-ins are the new cookies.
The net-ID service starts with ~45mn users, since all users of United Internet, RTL Media or ProSiebenSat1 services will already be registered.

You sound incredibly 16. I wish you luck though.

Moreover a lot of Europes tech industry was bought up due to aggressive tactics by american tech companies with vast venture capitalist budgets. England's was particularly deviated by this since they lack any of the protectionism and a "everything is for sale" attitude by the governments of the 80s and 90s

Heck, the current government allowed the hostile takeover of the most valuable British tech company by a Japanese mobile phone network.

CERN = 666

Nice counter argument, faggot.
Call me up when you start paying taxes and looking for a place to live by yourself in this shit hole.
Literal boomer retard that keeps believing the current status quo is working just fine. See you when the next global crisis blows up and turns our anual pitiful 1.5% GDP growth into a -3 or -4%.

what do you mean?

Redneck please turn off your computer.

Se calhar era melhor saires de Lisboa ou Porto.

Porque é que ainda não emigraste?

para de te queixar fodasse

Why? Computers were invented in America, not Europe

So what do you propose? You want to stop paying pensions to elderly people and have them starve and die? You do know there wasn't any Social Security during the dictatorship right? A lot of those people didn't even have a chance to contribute into the system.

Of all the fucked up things in this country and the myriad of corrupt politicians and businessmen, yet you want to blame old people? Just move away already you garbage human faggot. Nobody is forcing you to live here.

they didn't have the same level of cold war defense spending to kickstart their tech industry

seething

why do euros design and pander their cars for americans and still get BTFO by a gay area startup?

Attached: homepage-models[1].jpg (1440x900, 102K)

>Computers were invented in America, not Europe
AHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

the state of the US of A

30 year old boomer that pays taxes.

GDP growth mean nothing to me to be honest. I mean sure it is a indicator, but I got my current job during the last crysis, and wasn't really affected by it. Got lucky.

I don't think its fine, but every country has something to bitch about.

There's some perks to living here, with our calm ways. It was worse before. We're not run over by migrants, we're not on the border with Russia, we have very little left or right wing populism, not much crime, shit works even if not perfectly. Its just a lukewarm country.

Its just a very juvenile sentiment in my opinion to boil it all down to "everything is shit". And usually its young people that start shouting they're leaving the country.

If that's were their life takes them, good luck.

>recruits European Engineers to their US factories

oh no no no

>speaking portuguese because you got blown the fuck and don't want anyone else to see how retarded you are
Sad.
I don't live in either of those cities. Everywhere else is the same as those, just in a smaller scale. Houses are cheaper, but wages are also lower. Goods cost exactly the same.
Getting away from the big cities will only get you so far. The country is being ran on top of a literal ponzi scheme called Social Welfare that is about to crumble any day now. Governments keep postponing the inevitable, but it will come.

And don't worry, I will leave this piece of shit place as soon as I'm able to. There's no future here, not with these people at the helm, and not with mongoloids like yourself that can only insult and have zero substance in their arguments. You're part of the problem, and I'm checking out of it.

>picking one argument out of everything I typed
Nice one. I didn't blame specifically old people, but good job on that one.
Our social assistance systems are bloated as fuck. Like I said, they are literal ponzi schemes that feed off of new people at the bottom. Problem is, young people everywhere are leaving because they see quite clearly that there is no future for them here. It doesn't matter how much you pay in taxes now. There will be no money for you when you finally retire. The sooner you realize that, the better for you.

This is why we laugh at American education.

>speaking portuguese because you got blown the fuck
I am not even the same person, but whatever

>You're part of the problem, and I'm checking out of it.
Go and never come back.

btw, go to sleep because you have to work tomorrow.

defeatist faggot

Can't speak for the rest of Europe but the UK has quite a lot of startups.

The thing with Britain though is that when they become viable they tend to end up being sold off.

Selling off assets seems to essentially be British culture these days, I was pretty sad when ARM was sold to the Japanese

lol so why don't you retain them?

>Our social assistance systems are bloated as fuck
Fine, I'll bite. Where is it bloated?

> There will be no money for you when you finally retire. The sooner you realize that, the better for you.
There never was but for a brief moment in time but nobody knows how the future will be. Most people have known this for a while, and trust me, I've been paying taxes longer than you have. I most likely helped pay for your education, but I don't see you whining about that. You're just another selfish leeching prick that fed on the teat but doesn't feel like doing the same for future generations.

Yeah, Portugal must be doing really bad.

Every day, i see in the streets high-end cars.

Attached: 1537296911667s.jpg (250x250, 7K)

Spoken as a Brit, at least you have a good drugs policy

Sucks about your mass rate of depopulation by young people though, but then who can really blame them, southern Europe is fucked.

China's IT companies aren't companies in the Western sense, they're side operations of the party and the army.

>Every day, i see in the streets high-end cars.
to be fair most of those belong to angolan "businessmen" and rich brazilian exiles fleeing the chaos

maybe, but most of them are Portuguese people. probably trust fund goys

lmao this . why would you work in the EU if you have a high end degree? i know i wouldn t . the US is the best place to earn a lot of money

sweden,norway,finland,denmark.
france takes 60% of income from busineses and some 45% from workers, italy 40% fiscal pressure

so, if you lived in Europe, after getting your degree you would go to the US?

The US has a filter for people wanting to work there, H1B's and all plus

>be american
>get randomly shot

where does all the money go?

welfare for refuges ?

same in italy. you get paid 2k euro, but your boss actually pays almost double to the state. it s fucking horrible

I am white and have a bmw serie 1. Does it count?

i think purchasing power is more important than GDP

Swissfag here, its a point of pride that we managed to manage yet another project smoothly from the government side and a good bit of construction work so on (as did the french).

BUT this is an international project. And the USA is very much involved, too. Cool shit happens mostly when more than a handful of countries are involved, today.

Attached: 20SCI-CERN5-facebookJumbo.jpg (1050x550, 331K)

that costs what? 20K?

not exactly high end but you're doing fine, congratulations

i'm talking about all the lambos, ferraris and porsches, bentleys, etc. you see in certain areas of lisbon and porto

all that tech to being able to see your dick

30k. I got it second hand from family though.

FPBP

Attached: 1515087880182.png (720x960, 812K)

i know i m just saying if i had the opportunity i would get out of europe honeslty. say what you want about the US but they pay good.
nordic countries, welfare in general yes, except sweden , only welfare for rapefugees, italy = high debt can t lower taxes, france i really don t know, they hate rich people i think .

the guy that sold you the car, scammed you

Yeah, there are a lot of rich people living here now. Managerial position are paying a lot more than tech jobs could ever hope for. That and foreigners.

My dad wouldn't do that.

How are you being able to live in Lisbon, with the housing market so insane?

I guess? But then we (as in humans) also constructed a very large global network. For commerce, information exchange, and most of all, seeing real and drawn/rendered erotica+porn.

Attached: abb-robot.jpg (1024x768, 53K)

I don't. I live in margem sul. I don't really like cities, but either way I couldn't afford it if I wanted it.

>Managerial position are paying a lot more than tech jobs could ever hope for
true, but those positions don't pay as well as you think you do at least not enough for a lambo assuming you have other financial obligations

>That and foreigners.
yeah, they keep on coming... especially frogs. seriously, fuck the french

> ABB
> Swiss company

Stolen with mountain jew gold maybe.

hyuk, sheeeit yall. CERN gon open a portal ta hell!

You have Europe confused with US. income + FICA + state income + sales tax + property tax = 50% tax rate for most Americans.

>takes 60% of income
A good chunk of it is your pension plan, you doofus.

GDRP + Article 13 + Article 11 and this is only the legislations for the past 4 months. I am someone doiing illegal website activities right now because of these legislations and I will gladly go to jail, make friends with the muslims and go do an Allahu akbar. All of this is because they had to make retarded decisions. Do you think that the EU that existed in the past 20 years did not make more lawas that made it illegal to run business in the EU?

Attached: article 13.png (2715x1646, 2.87M)

member countries can opt out of implementing those rules

nice disinfo though, the drooling retards will certainly fall for it

hi

Attached: 1200px-STMicroelectronics_logo.svg.png (1200x854, 130K)

I hope when I go to jail, learn how to make bombs and get out do do stuff, you will close to these stuff.
The outing out of these rules was denied + EU would not allow any country to do anything that they would not approve.

Article 13 hasn't even had its final vote, I suppose you'd know that if you had any political knowledge beyond Jow Forums infographics

you don't even live here, why are you so obsessed?

article 13 that was approved by the lobbying campaign and that the MEPs all dream of approving will get approved. It is their dream.
P.S. please be in London.

1. Where do I live?
2. These regulations make the web worse for anyone
3. My projects are all fucked by the EU and I am not stopping them just because some tyrants passed some tyrannical laws.

if you live here you're a fucking retard that doesn't have a basic understanding of how the eu works

>These regulations make the web worse for anyone
nobody is disputing this you mongoloid

>My projects are all fucked by the EU
pretty sure the eu hasn't passed laws banning masturbation

>nobody is disputing this you mongoloid
What are we even debating then?

EU making legislation that fuck everyone and make it bad for any investment/entrepreneurship is basically my thesis.

>sales tax + property tax
>In a conversation about the percentage of salary taken by government
Does the EU's propaganda department even have to try anymore with retards like you running around?
