Does anyone have any theories on what exactly the endgame of these types of people are? Obviously control is a big one, but I fail to see the appeal in putting all this effort towards subverting a project developing an OS kernel. It's a fairly rigid piece of software that you can't exercise much personal discretion on the direction of the kernel's development. Linus was quite clearly forcibly removed as the head of his kernel, but I really just fail to understand the motivation behind those who want him gone. You can't make any money, you can't really steer the kernel's development in any ideological direction, I just don't understand what these people are looking to gain from overthrowing the leadership of the kernel.
