If you're looking for purchase advice, state your budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance). Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
>Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

no, i will mostly be using it for work. so ill be using a mouse/keyboard with it. this is also my first buy so idk how hard it is to replace it but i might if i use it portable a lot.
You're the equivalent of Leddit faggots saying Jow Forums is exclusively for shitposting. Stop.
No. U suffix processors a shit. If you must buy xx40 Lenovo chink shit, ONLY buy the p series (T440p, T540p or W540/W541). And stop listening to people that recommend s suffix ThinkPads, they're most likely trying to justify their purchasing.
External GPU with the x230t? Enlighten me. Is it using the expresscard port?
Noah Smith
So what do you do for fun?
Jaxson Price
i rice my Arch setup i use Arch btw
Hunter Reed
t410s bro here from last thread, Wew, replacement displays are like half what I paid for the damn thing. I guess I'll just get another thinkpad. Any recommendations for similar stats/price with dedicated GPU? I don't mind paying a little more.
I found this t440s refurbished on eBay for $155 usd, is this a good deal? What other places should I check?

>retrofitting an x220 mechanical keyboard what did (you) mean by this
Cooper Nelson
What's a good price in freedombux for a W530? I7 quad core, K2000m, and at least 12gb ram if possible. I see anything from $80 to $500 from a quick search.
William Taylor
It's an AMAZING deal.
The t440s is the best thinkpad to get for portability.
I've been using one for 6 months now and I love it.
X60,t430,t440s owner. #dabsonhaters
Nathaniel Cook
>1.60GHz what the fuck
Jaxon James
Especially with those specs, get it.
Only thing better is a t440p, but they are much thicker and heavier. Not nearly as portable.
James Richardson
Obviously the lower the price, is better, no?
What are you even asking?
You'll fine broken w530s for $80 or maxed out mint ones for $500
Bentley Cooper
holy shit, didn't know xx30 has backlit keyboard
Ian Sullivan
...
Parker Gonzalez
Yeah, that 80 is no doubt broken, i was mostly wanting to know if theres a general recommended average price
Levi Lewis
>checks Chicago Craigslist >sees x230 for $100
Shut up
William Long
Only when my gf (male) isn't borrowing my tactical gaming skirt
David Rodriguez
To find the median of two numbers you add them, then divide by two.
($80 + $500) / 2 = $290
$290. There you go retard.
Jack Wright
newfag Keys are glossy though, so they're more susceptible to storing sweat and shit, while the normal keyboard has a rough surface to avoid that. I don't know why Lenovo made it like that, it's retarded.
Hudson James
So what's a better deal than an i7 t440s for $150?
Please tell.
Noah Brown
If you don't buy it I will
Blake Martin
Oh, it has an i7? Oh, I had no idea. Never mind me. I'm sorry for not noticing it was an i7. In that case it is totally worth it!
Jose Mitchell
The tranny will attack us for talking about buying/owning a t440
Even though it's the only thinkpad that's worth buying right now.
Trans people are filled with so much hate.
First python Then Linux Now /tpg/
When will the USA finally have laws in place so we can get these mentally ill things institutionalized?
That nasty sweaty Asian tranny really needs a lobotomy.
Julian Diaz
Literally anything else because it's bad. X series is more portable and the processors are just as good. Regular T440 has better specs and can be had for the same price. Trying to get the "sweet spot" of power and portability will set you up for disappointment when the T440s is sub-par at both.
Austin Perez
Nice job stating opinions my guy.
Facts my dude.
We will keep buying our nice laptops because we aren't poor neets like you.
Adrian Scott
14 inch 1920x1080 IPS
Much slimmer and lighter than t430/t440p
Battery bridge tech
More efficient processor
Get btfo poorfag
Charles Johnson
Name 1 bad thing about the t440s
>inb4 soldered cpu Helps lower temps, no plan to upgrade ever. I see it as a feature.
Brandon Lee
Is the 1.9 ghz 4300U really so bad? I see those t440s all the time at around 150 bucks with said CPU. How bad can it be?
Michael Hall
Does the x230 get hot
David Sanders
>Ad hominem. You might as well just stop replying to me, if you're going to stick your fingers in your ears and sing how much you love cocks.
>Poorfag. >For not wanting to buy a 150 bucks piece of shit. Ebin.
Benjamin Sanchez
Scolding
Michael Williams
thank you friend
Blake Ward
For real? Why does it get hot?
Henry Reed
>replies with Ad hominem
Charles Powell
Nice spacing. You make the argument that it's cheap but still call me a poorfag. Yes it's a good deal on paper but you are better served flipping it and buying either an X series or even a regular T440. I am of the opinion that you should either get something that doesn't compromise on power and deal with carrying an extra pound, or at least get something that doesn't try to meet power and portability half-way.
Ethan Scott
It doesn't, but I do.
Matthew Ward
I need to know if it will become hot when I run my programs
James Jones
should i rather install solus os?
Ayden Lewis
Probably not
Samuel Mitchell
Really? My current laptop gets hot. Are you sure the x230 will not get hot
Joseph Taylor
>MOAR POWER T440s is perfect, twice as much power than what's necessary.
Ethan Perez
X230 will get warm, but shouldn't be anything to extreme if you replace the paste.
Get an x240 or newer if you hate heat.
My t440s barely hits 50 degrees under load, fan off.
Owen Rogers
If you only use it to shitpost on Jow Forums like you're doing right now, I guess it's okay.
Aiden Harris
>he doesn't know the 's' stands for shitty
Samuel Watson
I use it to write python and html as well.
YouTube
Netflix/Hulu

Manage my servers via ssh
I wouldn't want anything heavier or any thicker, and most people agree.
Nathan Campbell
Of course they cooler, the processors inside those machines are worthless.
Sebastian Perry
>Much slimmer and lighter DYIL?
Ian Sanchez
Oh, most people agree? That a relief! Obviously, if most people agree then it is the objectively better option. Pretty cool.
Robert Lee
Hello, you seem to be in the wrong thread. This is for the ThinkPad, a line of personal computers started by International Business Machines. Please vacate this thread and find a suitable MacBook discussion.
