It's practically required in every state that obituaries be published when death certificates are issued. It's part of the bureaucratic paper trail that lets creditors and family alike figure out they need to contact lawyers.

the only ones he had there was probably his parents, he was born and raised in Arizona. After he was thrown out by his elderly parents he went back there to the house he was raised in. He stayed in the area for quite some time before he left.
