Aternative to ublock origin?

Ublock origin is no longer working (pic related). I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, manually going in and deleting files and reinstalling, nothing works. I don't want to see this website's disgusting ads anymore, so can anyone suggest an alternative that actually works? I'm on Firefox btw.

GNU/Linux with firefox and uBlock origin is a better alternative to your current setup.

Update/add filters or start using medium or hard mode you retard.

OP here, not bait, I'm just this technologically illiterate. This may surprise you but I don't usually come to this board.

add more filters and keep them updated

>DUDE EVERYTHING IS SPYWARE LMAO

Well what the hell isn't spyware? Should I just throw my computer in the dumpster? Is the dumpster spyware because it's owned by the government?

Can you please elaborate om that for me, man.

Get greasy monkey:
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/

Add this script:
// ==UserScript==
// @name Jow Forums grossAds
// @namespace leaf
// @description hide gross ads
// @version 1.0
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==
function grossAds() {
var styleAds = document.createElement("div");
styleAds.innerHTML = "
.adg-rects { display: none; }";
document.body.appendChild(styleAds);
}
grossAds()

This works only for Jow Forums. I use Peerblock to block all internet traffic and I manually allow only the sites I use every day, I made a bunch of lists so it's not that hard to manage, I recommend it more than any browser adblocker, not only it's undetectable, it can be used to improve the security of your whole connection if you like to waste time fiddling with IPs and IP lists. Just make sure to Allow your router's IP ranges (run a few tests and manually find the ranges to Allow and make a list for it).

He's a fucking faggot

God dammit, hiro.

Fair enough, hey.

What am I looking at here
I don't use this shit btw

>update my filters a few hours ago
>perfectly fine, problem solved
>refresh today
>Pajeet ads about Hilary Clinton [sic] with horrible photoshop jobs listed again

I don't know what to do at this point, either.

Are any of you using just uBlock Origin without uMatrix or another kind of script-blocker?

I could only ever block ads in a limited fashion with only uBlock by itself. The ad images would be blocked but the frames and the text was still present. When I installed uMatrix and tweaked a few settings, all was right and every ad was blocked and their placeholders collapsed.

Do you have cosmetic filtering enabled?

uBlock also seems to have broken the Jow Forums auto-updater for me.

Yes I do.

Did you try purging your caches and re-downloading? Auto-updater was also broken for me but doing this fixed it for me yesterday.

I just did and it works now, thanks.
