I had a laptop running Ubuntu at work that had a total uptime of four years, ten months and a handful of days. Then some fucker from the alarm company restarted it when he couldn't login to install his key software (msi-file). For some reason he had the idea that restarting would be the answer to that problem. It then turned out that he actually meant to install it on the server. The big stonking box with a loud ass fan. It never entered his mind that this might be the server. I'm actually okay with this, the uptime had no bearing on my life or well being. But the fucking inability to think for even one second before acting! Good thing it was only the laptop, and nothing important.
