Write open source software

It's not how it's used, it's how big it is.
>write closed source software
>everyone uses it
I am happy that two of my projects are being used by others.
AMA
>write open source software
>trannies conspire to ruin it
pleb, I'm already waiting for my first "introduce a CoC" issue
>stars his own repo?
>no it's not his
>fork isn't grayed out
being this desperate
Nice bro
Can you at least say what kind of project it is
>he does it for free as in free as in free beer
Write down your food recipe online
get mad that nobody uses it
isn't it the same thing?
>write no software
>everyone mad
>mfw
Do you have a planned response?
>he fell for tranie software development
>nobody uses it
If YOU don't even use it, maybe it's just not worth it. But presumably you meant "nobody [else] uses it".
I have a project like that too, where there's virtually no pre-existing discussion of the topic it relates to online. But I use it, and that is enough motivation to keep developing.
HELLO CAN YOU RESPOND YOU JERK
Why did you make it open sores to begin with? Never saw the point beyond the artificial CV padding.
When you give something away, you never get anything back. Go look at stats for voluntary donations, for example. Donationware guys speak of ~$1 donation per couple thousand downloads. Also hooktube posted their stats and it was lol.
>write proprietary software
>everyone pirates it
You gotta write good open source software user
>Dicking around with JS to make a speedtest that doesn't suck
>Decide to put it on github
>Everyone starts using it
>Suddenly I'm popular and I get a bunch of emails every day
>90% of emails are people (especially pajeets) who can't follow simple instructions
>95% of forks literally remove my name from the project and contribute nothing
>I can't wait for some purple haired tranny to come and try to PR a CoC. I have an army of fake github accounts waiting to report her/him/whatever
open source =/= free
I don't understand why everyone thinks that anything under the GPL license has to be free. There are plenty of ways to sell the program and source code (together or separately)
Name, please?
>90% of emails are people (especially pajeets) who can't follow simple instructions
>95% of forks literally remove my name from the project and contribute nothing
Those two are connected.
Don't give him the name. Jow Forums is full of purplehairs and trannies, they'll spam report you.
Post github link OP, I'll give you a sympathy user. And flood your bugtracker until you feel worthless
github.com
Not bad, user.
People probably think "free software" as in "free beer".
