Reposting So I got this card from eBay for $20, expecting It to either work or not turn on at all. Sure enough plug it in and turn it on no display. >Turn off PC >Remove card >Turn on PC and change display adapter from PCI-E to Internal >F10 >Press power button >Put bad card back in >Windows loaded up >Device Manager >Display Adapters >[-] Standard VGA Display Adapter >"Of course" >[-] AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series >"wtf? I thought you were dead, asshole" >proceed with extensive testing and pic related is the result Test the VGA and HDMI ports, didn't test the display port since my TV doesn't have one, and I don't wanna get a newer one because I like my 40" TV monitor.
I find it hard to believe that both VGA and HDMI ports are damaged and that the Display Port isn't. But could no video output, but still being detected by system, be an issue caused by overheating or solder cold cracking in the card? Would just heating it up the entire card with a heat gun/hair dryer/oven to do a ghetto reflow, further damage this card?
theyve been coming down but well have to wait for china still

How demanding is it to load a video stream? Fresh install of XP on a Inspiron 6000 and my rPi couldn't play a cartoon stream without heavy stuttering. Surely it can't be that taxing.

so my SSD drive stopped working, I was installing a new sata drive to my computer when I realise it won't boot up.
So I plugged in the ssd into my main computer and it's not being found in bios, I tried disk management and other stuff but there doesn't seem to be a SSD there despite trying all my sata ports. What could be wrong with it?

Is it safe to sysupgrade from lede 17 to openwrt 18?

Try diskpart. Try booting from a live linux USB If neither see it, it's dead, Jim.

It seems my google skills failed me so I can only hope in some help from you. I use a wireless RF headphone at home, and it has the 4 minute no signal cutoff to save power. My problem it that it makes impossible to listen to ASMR. Is there a way to hack the device to get rid of the function? Or how would you fix this? Thanks in advance.
asmr doesnt count as signal? i would have a frequency at like 21k play every few minutes. you wont hear it
Ryan Morris
>wireless RF headphone Is that it's brand and model name?
Thomas Smith
The cutoff works in a way that it turns the device off when the volume is too low instead of no signal at all. So if there's a 4 minute scene in a movie where they don't talk, it turns off. Also during asmr that is for sleeping or meditation.
Sony RF 865, I always forget the white designation. The function is there for all brands and types though.
I'll try that, however I doubt it will fully work. The source is already at full, not sure how the device volume affects it. Anyway, would there be a different solution if this doesn't work? I mean why the heck is there even a function like this that can't be turned off?
Nathaniel Hernandez
>why the heck is there even a function like this that can't be turned off? That's just the price you pay for using an analog device. Maybe next time find a pair of headphones with an audio player built in, or a bluetooth headset.
Carson Sullivan
Well, thanks. Lesson learnt. I had troubles with BT ones so I try to avoid them but those might be fixed by now.
Brandon Lewis
it worked, I booted a windows install on a USB and refreshed on the where to install. It then saw a 0 mb drive which when I clicked on it and refreshed again, it loaded up as normal.
Took me 4 hours to figure this out, I still have no clue what went wrong and how I fixed it.
Brayden Miller
>I still have no clue what went wrong and how I fixed it. You didn't fix it, you just got the first sign your SSD might be failing. If you got anything important you'd better start backing that up.

I spent hours today putting together my first build and when I attempted first boot everything was lighting up and seemingly working aside from my cpu (2700x) and fans. My motherboard is a crosshair hero vii wifi and it displayed only a red led and no error code. If anyone has knowledge that can restore my sanity after dealing with this shit I would be grateful.

How do I get into a new hobby? I can't afford gyms, sporting, etc. but I'm bored of games now. I'm too incompetent for programming, and can't even think of any reason why I'd want to get into programming, either. Only have a LAN connection to my laptop (no wifi) and don't want to buy a router. Anybody recommend any good programs that will allow me to make a wifi/hotspot from my laptop so I can use my other devices? Have tried a few but nothing working properly. Thanks in advance.

What are the benefits of setting up my own VPN compared to buying one from a more "reputable" company? (e.g. Mullvad)
Andrew Myers
check your cpu pins, check everything is plugged in... do you have both the 8 pin + the 4 pin on the cpu plugged in?| 24 pin pllugged in properly? gpu cables connected properly?
Angel Collins
none. if you are in position to set up a proper vpn, which i think your confusing with a local vpn then definitely its safer to some degree. additionally if its ever revealed your own set up vpn has one user then obviously you can just say oh all traffic routed to ip 123123123 is actually being redirected to ip 123123124

Anyways, as a side note. How come I never really see any upload while torrents are active? If I download something big like a distro torrent it works, but I never seem to connect to available peers on the smaller torrents, such as obscure shows or erotica. I feel bad about leeching like this, and I think it has to do with my vpn. Is there any way for me to start uploading more?
can someone explain namespaces in c++ for me, I'm too retarded holy shit, read some stuff and testing but it won't compile I made a new namespace with a function and then included the .cpp file in the main cpp file and did xyz::funname(); but it wont compile just show me a working example of a new namespace in use

So I plugged a new SSD into my parent's computer and it doesn't see it in the bios.
I plugged it in mine and it works fine, I reformatted and everything. I tried using different cables and sata ports on my parent's computer and nothing. Any ideas on this solution?

Any precautions I need to take when using IRC? I know I better use a vhost so I don't show up my real IP so I make doxxing harder. What are other the other things I need to care about?
Should I run it in a virtual machine or am I being too paranoid here?
Indeed many ATMs seems to use XP, is it still that way I don't know.

I want her to step on my penis.

can't you just use a vpn for that? I think vhost requires you to make an account, I would rather not do that

You chums aware of any programs for Windows that will help me sort through a folder? For example >Set arrows as shortcuts to folders >Program shows the file (name/preview/whatever) >Press an arrow and it moves it to that folder >Shows next file until folder is clear Trying to organize some image folders and my "unsorted" folders are a right mess.
Also need something to do a checksum on backup folders to see if anything is different.

I have a Nokia 6.1, when I install firefox from fdroid or play store, it downloads a build where it shows a tab bar at the top. The option to rremove this isn't present in the general settings, is there a way to remove easily?
I will be forced to delve into building my own firefox without a tabbar, which will probably produce a whole new array of questions on how to proceed.
Can a CPU/GPU be partially damaged by overclocking or poor handling?
Ie. The PC appears to boot up and work fine but there's performance loss or crashes upon trying to execute certain functions?
I know RAM can be partially damaged and have segments that are broken and causes the system/programs to crash when they attempt to read/write to these segments, that's why I will test used RAM with memtest
Is there's a similar precaution I need to take when buying a used CPU/GPU/Mobo?
Jaxon Cook
'Course that wouldn't explain posting in the wrong thread from the start, that thread was clearly past bump limit, and this thread had been made hours prior to your post. Nice try though, slowslut.

Using firefox and this has bothered me for a while
So take literally any fucking image posted, anywhere even here, and if I copy to my clipboard the size of it is huge in comparison than if saved normally. But saving is too much of a hassle for my use case.
A 100kb image becomes almost 2MB as an extreme example. Can I just copy the raw image?
Steam has official/native PS controller support by using the official Sony PS Now driver.
It might be limited to Big Picture though.

How reliable is clonezilla for Windows installation backups?
I've been thinking about backing the entire thing up so I can mess around with different OSes and restoring it. I essentially want to have it where I can restore it as if I just decided to turn off my computer for a couple of days.
Colton Hernandez
Depends. By default on Windows, nothing. You can install Steam and Steam will provide drivers for it that you can use with Big Picture, which makes games recognize it natively as a DS4. DS4 windows is still the better tool. On Linux (apparently) some games support the gamepad natively and add features that the Windows versions won't have (such as lightbar support, which works with Rise of the Tomb Raider on Linux, but not Windows). Anything else is a meme. Also, DS4Windows has a couple of extra features and you can get builds that add motion sensor compatibility with emulators such as CEMU.
Christian Sullivan
I just installed a new GPU and now one of my USB ports on top of my pc doesn't work
Did I knock something? I can see the wires from those ports go behind my motherboard
It's fine. Clonezilla uses partclone (by default), which in turn uses ntfs3g for ntfs volumes. Ntfs3g's imaging capability is quite good, it can take complete images while skipping slack (unused) space, making backups smaller and faster (at the cost of the image being unsuitable for forensic purposes)
Evan Walker
is there a dead-simple way to install a binary to a custom location using pacman? Possibly update PATH as well to launch it normally?
