This is a WM/DE thread tho.

I used to use Ice back in the late 90s about until Ubuntu 6.06 came out and made Gnome pretty good. I could easily mould Ubuntu into what I would setup my IceWM, and kept with it. Even Mate today is just as comfy.

I do keep IceWM around though and can login to that session, I run it over vnc when I use it, for instance.
