Excited for Ubuntu 18.10?

U guys hyped for this? Looks like it will be incredibly practical, with good performance and easy to install steam.

fuck off canonical

>Ubuntu
>linux
>sjw and coc
Good luck

Hey, Canonical it's doing some splendid work my dude. British excellence at it's finest.

Install Gentoo

>amazon link
yeah that’s a yikes for me

Install OpenBSD

I do not wish to install transvestites onto my machine.

None of these work properly, why is a easy to install and use is bad? Ubuntu should be the standard.

>Excited for Ubuntu 18.04?

>U guys hyped for this? Looks like it will be incredibly practical, with good performance and easy to install steam.

Same thing applies to the current release

Actually using elementary OS Juno Beta 2 when I'm using GNU/Linux. Just werks, minus having to pass a kernel parameter to make both my monitors work (amdgpu.dc=0)

>still uses a trash WM

I use ubuntu minimal as daily for uni. Fuck arch breaking xorg all the time.

b8.jpg

Doesn't even have a supported version of OpenSSL.

i have no interest in non-lts releases

Linux is shit on the desktop. I'll stay with Windows where I can give and receive virtual hugs and not put up with 90s tier lack of vsync

Still no thumbnails.

Not really, the releases right after an LTS are barely worth installing, they often contain no changes.

imo Ubuntu should switch to yearly releases with LTS every 3 years.

18.04 broke my trackpoint acceleration and made the system boot longer than 17.10. Fuck them.

The new yaru theme looks pretty sweet. I give them that.

>Still no thumbnails.
What? I use 16.04 and have thumbnails for movies and pictures.

>British excellence
lol
>being afraid of a fucking link

He's probably talking about the GTK file picker.

>GTK file picker.
Like when you're uploading a picture to a website? There's a preview of the image to the right. Or just install whatever it is KDE Plasma uses.

I only use m'lady 28

>I use ubuntu minimal as daily for uni. Fuck arch breaking xorg all the time.
Ubuntu minimal?
Install CentOS minimal.
That's what you'll use once you get a job and are a big boy.

>Change list: new wallpaper
>The end
Based Canonical

there are only 4 distros worth installing for desktop use: mint, elementary, manjaro xfce and chrome os. Everything else is either unusable or unstable shit.

Hey, xubuntu works pretty well. It's comfy and hasn't failed me yet.

xubuntu it okei but I prefer manjaro's bleeding edge repos.

Oh boy updated packages thank you Ubuntu I'd never have updated packages without you

>using arch for babies

>are you excited for a point release that's supported for just over 6 months
not really.

>using manjaro for autists

>manjaro
>bleeding edge
pick one

its orange

I've driven away from Ubuntu because I keep getting those annoying crash report popups. No matter what PC I install it on, I always get those. I use Debian now and I'm much happier.

What's new in 18.10?

itsfoss.com/ubuntu-18-10-release-features/

Gnome 3.30
Android integration
New Theme
32-Bit support diminishing from flavors
Faster boot with new compression algorithms

Pretty cool

>Android integration
What does this mean? You can use apps from the Google Play store?

What's great about nu-Ubuntu is that it's not exciting. Things just W3RK®

Assuming it's similar to the KDE connect u can more easily share files between your pc and phone, can check all messages of your phone from the pc and probably a few more things.

>Faster boot with new compression algorithms
How does this affects:
>a winblows fag.
>a "normal" desktop linux user.
>a "normal" debian user.
>an arch autist.
I'm a "normal" desktop linux user and I'm quoting myself.

>KDE connect
Never got that shit to work correctly.
Hopefully whatever the Android integration feature can be used in 16.04. I hate the 18 DE.

>Never got that shit to work correctly.
For me it was pretty easy to set up, just have to install the app on the phone.
> Hopefully whatever the Android integration feature can be used in 16.04. I hate the 18 DE
can't u just upgrade and install a different DE?

If you want the fastest boot time you can have, just use Void Linux

>For me it was pretty easy to set up, just have to install the app on the phone.
I couldn't get it to work on a laptop running KDE Plasma, or a desktop running kubuntu 16.04
>can't u just upgrade and install a different DE?
I like Unity. I've tweaked it how I like, and have been using it for a long time. I've turned into that 'get off my lawn' faggot when it comes to DEs.

Am I hype for spyware and bloat?
No, not really.

What i was asking, don't really know, can't u just upgrade while maintaining the Unity look? like get the features but just don't use gnome.

Not at all, OP.

I don't think so.

Ha, try harder at least put some arguments there.

The truth is that it's quite practical and easy to use

Well i guess u already set and good to go then, don't need to change what already works

Installing Basedbuntu.

No thanks I'd rather install TempleOS and keep the glow in the darks out of my computer.

Well my dudes, nice to know that it's time for baits and shitposting, guess i will go to bowdette threads then.

See ya

I booted into an Ubuntu live environment once. I saw the Amazon icon and it was a pretty quick shutdown from that point.

It's a website link, dipshit.

>mfw you're all still mixing up "its" with "it's".

Only mainline ubuntu suffers from this problem.

Hey man, at least write the phrase corrected.
Didn't understood the error

>British
>Excellence
Choose one

>linux

nah i want to get shit done, OS focused on ricing your desktop.

yeah, I know, dipshit. Does that somehow make it acceptable? What if it was a Walmart.com icon instead? Or what if they were suggesting which news sites I should visit?

I can make my own link to Amazon if I want it.

Yeah thankfully. Gnome is rubbish anyway. I ran Kubuntu for a long time but I felt like something different so I moved on from the Ubuntu train. Was a very solid OS for the time I used it though.

It comes with a web browser too.
SPOOPY!

I'm hyped for OpenBSD 6.4
I'm not a tranny, so no, I don't care about your garbage.

meh. good for the normies. I'll stick with Manjaro for now.

>gnome

Attached: fuck you.jpg (222x202, 31K)

>gnome
It won't be getting android integration according to omg ubuntu.

Very much so, this is why I will stop using Debian stable.

>install ubuntu
>fuck something up and post about it
>you should've used *insert poster's favorite distro here* you fucking idiot
>install it instead
>fuck something up and post about it
>just use ubuntu you fucking idiot

>Not an LTS.

No thanks.

user, if you can't look for solutions on the Ubuntu forums/arch wiki, loonix is not for you.

thank you for freeing me from this torment
now I can go back and enjoy the life of a simple windows peasant

>OpenBSD 6.4
Damn 6.2 works on a laptop.
youtube.com/watch?v=CEnwpHvxQ4k

Did they fix the 60 fps hardlock problem yet?

Non-LTS Ubuntu is a shitfest.

Did you ever even read the report and try to fix it?

When does Ubuntu stop? They aren't making any money.

Install Gentoo faggot

I have 6.3 running on my E580, had no problems getting the thing installed, but it doesn't support the wifi module. So I'm going to write the driver and commit the code myself, and add it to my resume.

>Ubuntu should be the standard
it is the standard, it's pretty much the only relevant desktop distro in business and academia

Yup, anything outside that is basically edgy-territory or for sysadmins.

fuck off desktop thread user

It's Clover OS you dipshit

Cia nigger

Test

>ubuntu minimal
absolute broken peace of garbage

NEVER listen to these posts
NEVER install deb without testing live cd

we've had thumbnails in nautilius for ever

>18.10
after 17.10 im not that exited

>writing a handful of commands in the command line makes you an autist
Damn user you have low expectations for non autists

>and easy to install steam
Did they fix the broken Vulkan yet?
I was very frustrated when all of a sudden I couldn't play Dota 2 on 18.04 anymore.

>british
GCHQ probs have backdoored it, someone check the source code

is that why they're backpedaling on mir, after all the money and effort they put into it?

...

Yes

fuck. chaika has some fat ass tats

found the nigger who uses gnome instead of kde
