I want a new sub $200 tablet. It's solely going to be used for scene release MKV's with DTS/AAC/AC3 audio tracks, reading things, and maybe a game like Plants vs Zombies.
The screen needs to be 10", IPS, over my current crappy res of 1024 x 600 Pixel (171 PPI) on a 7" screen, audio must not suffer static issues when cranked up via headphones.
I use PerfectViewer for my manga/comics/pdf's and it's also available on the Amazon store, so I should be set in both regards.
I have the Fire HD 8 and even though they say it is a 720p+ ips screen, it is pretty low quality. Expect light bleed and the screen to distort when the cheap plastic device structure is flexed.
They are fine for cheap, but not for quality.

I mean my Nook's probably even shittier.

This isn't the consumer electronics board, normie.

But /csg/ IS for reviews...

I've posted this question over the years. Jow Forums can't read, so they don't care about the quality of tablets or readers.
Literally only when people need to meme porn did they get tablets. And then immediately stopped using them.
I wanted mine for reading, I assume literally any modern bullshit will play a 1920x1080 video on ips. They're like 8 core min now. 2048x1536 is a res, 1920x1200 I've seen, etc. They have no standardization

Considering I was fine with a $50 Nook, I should be fine with the Fire HD 10 considering I'm tech literate and can add whatever APK's I need.
I'm used to a 7" 1024 x 600 Pixel (171 PPI) screen, so 10.1" 1920x1080 224 PPI should be an amazing upgrade.

>audio must not suffer static issues when cranked up >MX Player can boost the audio. Never put volume above 15, get better releases with proper audio and get better headphones you stupid fuck
Xavier Sanders
15 Is far too low regardless of the content
Camden Flores
15 is the maximum the device can output. Putting above that will make audio crack when sound gets too loud. Learn2normalize audio or get better scene releases/headphones. Never had any problem with mx player and my MDR-ZX330BT
Gabriel Johnson
Audio isn't supposed to be heard normalized, things are supposed to be different volumes. My issue is things are always too low regardless of the headset. It's an issue with my tablet and 3DS XL, but the Vita and PSP max volumes in every game can satisfy me.
Easton Gray
Try bluetooth/usb headphones, they don't rely on the shitty tablet internal DAC. 3ds is a piece of shit in the audio department.
Michael Adams
>3ds is a piece of shit in the audio department.
Yeah it is, but I was explaining it wasn't my choice of headsets since other devices are acceptable in that regard.
So you're saying bluetooth/USB would be louder ?

>tablet for reading Just get a cheap Ebook reader
John Reed
You've already decided to buy it. You are just trying to justify the decision.
