....litreally the worst distro....
...switch to Arch......
DO NOT DO THIS! it breaks Xorg
are you 70yo or did you fall asleep on your period key?
autism detected
You can't convince anyone if you type like a faggot as you do
Packages are way too old, I fucking hate that.
>"needing" "up to date" broken packages
....seething debian users....resorting to ad hominem ...
just let this thread die..
...extremely. Based....
Why are you punctuating like you're on life support?
.........btw........
newer packages are less broken, that's the meaning of "newer" in newer packages
>sid
we pray for you to get less autistic user..
That's not NixOS/GuixSD
new = more bug fixes, idiot
I did the same. It just werks.
Use it form personal use and my server now after being an arch fag.
for example, if you really need that cutting edgeTM

Can confirm...
It was the first distro i used all those years ago, from a disk that came off the cover of a magazine, and here we are today and i still keep going back to it.
good job user!
I could have told you this in 1995
I still remember that ecstatic feeling I got over how well it'd fit when I was considering a distro for my desktop and had Debian come to mind. It's just so pure and perfect.

Have you heard of sid user
"..fuck! MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!"
i heard from some autistic nerds that said that it was unusable because of unstability
.........lmao.........
Debian is GNU/Linux at it's default. Clean, simple, only free packages by default, stable, little to no bloat, not overly difficult while not tailored to user friendliness. It's just the default state of GNU/Linux to exist in, it's why Debian is the base of so many distros.
..........XD.........
Debian is not even Linux
there was also non-Linux Debian
I use Debian/Hurd
Just like there's a non-GNU Linux and a non-Linux GNU. That's not the point.
Would still be on it if not for systemd.
On Slackware now and can't be bothered to move.
.....new... meme..
"Unstability" does not equal "crashes a lot". It just means that packages are changing all the time.
Devuan.
I like the fork Devuan personally. It's basically the same thing as Debian but with sysvinit or Openrc.
changing = crashes a lot
.........lol user lol.....
>ftp.[your mirror].debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free
Agreed user, Debian is my fav distro for now
you need to change securty and the other one to testing, so that it doesn't break
Use net iso
Depends. Newer versions fix old bugs, but often introduce another bugs due to the new functionality. However, Debian team backports at least security fixes to their software versions. It may be hard to track it, but in that case, you could update from original repos of that software.
I did not know this, I just commented them out because they don't exist on sid. So eventually I couldn't install bumblebee and shit and I got to RHEL Development sub with extra repos
I hate that GNU gains so much recognition by Debian as far as to name the distro GNU/Linux; I mean GNU stuff is just added on top of the kernel and the init, if anything it would be just Linux because binaries are compiled for that, not because you have some freetarded tools on top.
ubuntu is superior
unironically
This
you type like a fucking ghost
...fuck......
GNU's tools are essential to the operating system though. Grub is GNU, bash is GNU, GCC is GNU, GNOME is GNU and then a shit ton of tools and programs you use in general day to day tasks are GNU. While it's perfectly possible for you to swap all of these out with non-GNU alternatives, they're not only the default of pretty much all distros but those tools are what allowed GNU/Linux to get to the point where you even could start customizing away from GNU in the first place. What I mean is, the GNU tools have been a vital part of the OS's development, so even if you customize to the point where you're no longer GNU/Linux, that doesn't change the historical stake of GNU, and as such it deserves recognition.
Linux wouldn't even exist without GCC!
that's not gentoo
I started out on Debian 1.3, but now prefer Ubuntu.
can't wait for systemd to replace all that shit, there's already a systemd boot loader. systemd shell, compiler and DE when?
Yea, by that point I unironically think it'd be apt to call it Systemd/Linux
Just wait until some autist on the Debian team decides to hold a package or driver at some ancient version for some asinine reason. Yes, even in Testing and in Sid. Literally the reason I switched back to Mint.
Which package/driver? Did you file a bug?
> you type like a fucking ghost
....Oh. I'm sorry you don't like it......
Or as I've recently taken to calling it, NSA plus systemd
And there was GNU/Windows10 Ubuntu. So what?
Move over, cunt. Debian allows the user to use non-free software.
>Debian allows the user to use non-free software.
...and that's a good thing
lmao, it's supposed to be 100% FREE 100% configurable os, and then it "allows" or "not allows" me to do something?
based and redpilled
more like 13 years old. that's what middle school kids do
Stopped short
>Hint: Devuan
apt is way too fucking slow
ehh, I went to OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. It's rolling but stable, and everything is up-to-date.
Even on Debian testing I needed to manually install an updated Firefox since they were still on ESR 52 when I was on it last.
OH NO SOFTWARE SUPPORT
shit taste
Linux sucks.
real men use gentoo or debian
99% of distros are shit
arch is just a hobbyist distro
real men use trisquel and don't use nonfree software
post trisquel desktop and i will reconsider
>versions named after planets instead of Toy Story characters
k you sold me
Can't wait for you to die, asshole.
BEGONE FROM MY COMPUTER YOU WICKED EVIL
