My DDG results have been notably shitty for the past two days. I don't know what happened. At some point quite some time ago it also started randomly ignoring double-quotes. Why is the only semi-decent search engine left shooting itself in the foot?

searx is ad-free and pro-privacy, but it only achieves that by not being a product. it is at the mercy of whichever search engines it aggregates and the financial obligations of whoever is hosting it (hosting it yourself is effectively the same as searching directly, but you send the query to 70 engines instead of one)

ive been using it with firefox, the ddg extension, and ublock origin. no real complaints except the search results are cut off in the middle of the sentence so i can't read the whole thing. probably just a setting. i'd rather not have anyone make money off me without my knowledge and make a diagram of my soul.
