What is the name of Your player?

cmus

tauonmb

What is the absolute most minimal music player for Windows?

Audacious because I don't need bloat. Clementine is objectively the best cross platform player, but Audacious just works and is simple enough out of the box.

ncmpcpp, I'll probably switch to emms in the future

Media player.

Bloated with useless interface options, I'm talking something like Billy before it turned into some weird Tumblr music player instead of actual software

deadbeef from the git master

lollypop, top comf

I use mps-youtube and cmus

Cmus is based beyond all comprehension

Clementine

Whatever came with Fedora GNOME.

cmus YOU FOOLS

yep

Tauonmb is God tier
>lightweight
>can instantly switch between themes
>can tweak it to your own liking because open source
>UI is clean and simple, has exactly everything you need
Shame this player isn't that well known.

is still 2007 there

i use the ol' mpv --no-video .

I've started doing this too recently.

you're thinking of groove, not media player. Groove is pretty good though.

foobar for sure

Cementine. The only one that matters.

Stupid question:

Say I want to listen to music on a Linux system, and say that like most people this is on a less than incredible quality laptop with top shelf sound card/audio etc.

Computers will store an audio file universally the same way, so the only issue would be the output, at which point I could get an external soundcard or DAC, and have the best possible sound coming out of this less than great laptop correct?

So good you couldn't tell if it was playing on a $2000 laptop vs $200.

tl;dr Will the upgraded external DAC/headphone amp redeem any system?

There are good music outside of Russia too

Yes, in Ukraine

Yuliya install linux already.

I use BlackPlayer ES over (free) ARC.

I like Windows 7 (:
