Nano will reign supreme and all you bloatfags will be left buried in the sand

don't get me wrong, I still use vim for editing shit in the terminal/console. but for actual work emacs in unbeatable

Not even insert mode.

For actual work, you'll be out of a job programming in text editors while the rest of your team are using IDEs where you can share/view the whole project in one window.

>not using eclipse with a vim plugin for nearly everything
>inb4 but muh intelli shill

FOSS IDE written on top of a very thin, native feeling gui framework > proprietary junk that uses swing

tmux

grep -lir "search_code()" .

>vim can't be used in any keyboard which is not fullsize + numpad
yeah great program
emacs is far better than that trash

Is there a single reason to use vim over an IDE?

right i also forgot
>it also has to be an us keyboard

IDE is a buzzword for text editor that is bloated to fuck

Why are you eating your glasses?

Actually helpful features thats not just "being able to save your document 3 nanoseconds quicker"

No, I program with Vim (or emacs) in C or C++.

>Is there a single reason to use vim over an IDE?

Honestly a good C setup in vim provides the coziest environment for me.

Anything else use a full featured IDE + vim bindings

vscode + vim extension is my fav

ST3 + Vim plugin

get CoC'd niggers

Who the fuck slanders me like this?! Tell me, whore.
I know what tools to choose. Vim is not developer environment.

I've been programming in gedit side-by-side with a terminal where I execute the code for over a year tßh (mainly python)

Because we are being conditioned to tolerate abhorrently disgusting images in order to transform us into PTSD-resistant MKUltra combat drones in the upcoming global nuclear conflict.

This is really pissing me off. I could tolerate ads before, now it's too much. How can I block gookmoot's ads?

Do one thing and do it well.
Edit code in vim.
Compile in your shell, open pdf in a pdf viewer.

>Compile in your shell
Why not calling make from vim?

Never seen that ad before that thread, why are plastic surgery ads directed at you, user?

Tranny exposed. user BTFO

I'm using vim on a german Keyboard just fine

Idk, I'm not a tranny, gay, or concerned about my appearance.

It's ok user. I'm a closeted tranny too

Attached: gayblackkkk.jpg (500x333, 32K)

I'm really not, but that's cool if you are.

Not OP, but I tend to spend a lot of time logged into servers that don't have my configuration. I keep my configs relatively vanilla so it's not jarring moving from one context to another. In the case of make, it's often easier to open a new tmux/screen panel and run the command there.

!make
It's fucking easy, and vim will parse make output to jump to the line.

It doesn't work if vim's context isn't the root make directory. See:
stackoverflow.com/questions/729249/how-to-efficiently-make-with-vim

You're right that it's not "hard" but it breaks often enough that I end up opening a new shell in anger anyways.

same pb with emacs
that's why I do
cd ~/src/myrootsrc && make
and it fix the problem, you can do the same with vim

She's got more makeup caked onto her face than Marilyn Manson. Disgusting.

you can call pdflatex from within vim and open the pdf generated from within vim. that is literally all the functionality you described.

kill yourself
