PC games are shit now.

How many times do I have to explain it to you?
Names that are being addressed directly are said to be in the vocative case. When somebody is being spoken to directly, his/her name must be separated from the rest of the sentence with a comma (or commas).

cant wait to see unreal numbers from golden samples being benched

the absolute state of Intel

don't worry, you'll get your 10nm processors, they were only meant to be released three years ago anyway. And don't worry about the fact that by the time they come out the rest of industry will already have 7nm products on shelves.

It's just a Skylake without AVX-512 but with added security patch for meltdown and spectre.

>10nm
It's 14nm

no, it's 10nm, which in its' current state is worse than 14nm refined over last years, which is even more hilarious

This. Was thinking about upgrading my GPU for my birthday. Then I thought why fucking bother? Everything on steam is top-down/isometric indie garbage now.

It have 512
It's different from skx it uses ringbus

When will i9s actually become necessary?

I'm still on Ryzen 5.

I used to be this guy. Benchmarks all day every day, overclocking, spending hours and even days on a small percentage gain. Thought Everest and similar applications were must have on every system. Spent a lot of money on aftermarket cooling when I could've just bought a better graphics card. Now I just want a computer that works.

>JUST 1 DAY left until Intel releases 9gen i prosessors
so what, Intel's got nothing right now here in Europe. The Intel Core i5-8400, as an example, has gone up from 2000 SEK at the start of September to 3000 SEK as of right now. For comparison, the Ryzen 7 1700X is priced at 2300 SEK.

I seriously doubt we'll see 9gen Intel CPUs at anything remotely close to competitive prices any time soon, I expect a paper release with very few chips available at insanely high prices.

>THANK YOU BASED INTEL FOR SAVING PC GAMING AND DESTROYING AMD
You got to be kidding, every single comparable AMD CPU is priced somewhere between half and 2/3rds of Intel's offerings right now. They got jack shit. And it really is quite worrying. It really is.

Don't get it? Think about that "GPU shortage" that lasted over a year. I seriously doubt AMD can sustain current prices with a 80+% market share - and that's what they have. Not on average this year or quarter, just right now - but it will probably stay that way until/unless Intel gets their shit together. It probably won't take that many months of Intel not getting their shit together before prices on AMD CPUs sky-rocket.

The minor, and they really are minor, differences mean jack shit in the current price-environment here in Europe. The i5-8400 has a few more fps than the Ryzen 5 2600X in that chart but that ain't anywhere near 2x. And the 2600X cruses Intel's offerings in multi-core.

SD is a socialist party. They've got the exact same economic policies as the other big socialist party Socialdemokraterna. Their votes in Riksdagen are 90% identical.

paying twice as much for the same performance isn't "being rich", it's being utterly stupid and it will make you poor in the long run.

Why is intel so bad at raytraceing

why is intel so bad at power consumption

Attached: 2700xpower1.png (712x1441, 158K)

The hard truth to admit is that most of consumers will simply choose what's cheaper. If it plays games, do the same stuff and provides similar experience being complementary product muh 10 fps doesn't matter.

Wrong

why is intel so bad at thermals

Attached: 150dollarwatercooler.png (654x533, 169K)

That depends on how much power you actually need.

Do you need a metric ton of terraflops for tasks which are difficult or impossible to accelerate with OpenCL or CUDA? Then buy an i9 or a Threadripper.

If you need insane specs or are financially constrained then stick with the Ryzen 5 until 7nm or 3-4nm.

If you're using a 2xxx Ryzen 5 then wait even longer.

High, mid, and low end options don't change much between nodes.

>SAVING PC GAMING
Ummm excuse me don't you mean thank you Windows 95?

If the RTX meme runs 1080p at 30fps, then at what resolution does the cpu become important again, 64x48?

Exactly. I just spent $1000 to upgrade my PC, only to realize all the games that I want to play could already be run on max settings on my old toaster.

Upgraded last year, but due to some hardware issues, I managed to get a refund for both my CPU and motherboard last year. Now back on my old i5 and got some more money in the bank.

Remember they have hyperthreading disabled

Not an argument.

Play Eve Online. The only game worth playing.

Why even advertise it when you can't produce enough to keep up with the current demand levels?

>releasing an unlocked mid range CPU to compete with a HEDT
Sure thing, let me know when they have something to actually compete with. Watch X599 not come out for a few more years.

>>I'm a cinebench analyst
Are you retarded? It shows how well actual rendering programs do.

Then one would use actual rendering programs.

>play a game that the devs are actively making worse year on year

sir do the needful and help me updating my computer

What's your logic here? Cinebench scores for all processors are readily available and it was literally designed to work closely like other programs.

They made the PI window better. It is bigger, but it shows more information also. Most other changes are still shit. People hate on the new Aura voice, but I like it. It was very obvious how old the old voice was, and needed a new one with higher quality recordings.

When you want to know how Maya3D performs on various systems, one would use Maya3D and a reference scene. Not a benchmark made to kinda be like other 3D applications. It's like making an application that kinda works like encoding and compiling instead of just encoding a reference clip with x264 or compiling llvm and other projects to see how they perform. Better to see actual performance in actual workloads than approximations like 3dmark and other benchmarks.

NOOOOOOOOO DELID DIS

Attached: 1506977173618.jpg (882x758, 324K)

The purpose of cinebench is to be easy and free to install, making benchmarks easier and more standard, so you have benchmarks for every single CPU rather than just the ones people have tested with the specific program.

8700K, 8600K and 2700X users are going to be laughing at 9900K and 9700K for being overpriced and underwhelming piece of garbage.

I am Happy as it is right now, because the new highend games dont really appeal to me, and the games I play I can play without problems on high settings with 60fps.

Right now the only reason to upgrade would be if I get a gpu that allows 21:9 1440p 144hz gaming
8 core cpu with 7or 10 nm and a high improvement on singlecore performance
Also when 21:9 144hz 1440p monitors are avalible on the marked (for less than 800€) by LG or ASUS

I will only buy a intel when they are 10nm, so should everyone else, if they consider a upgrade

I want to buy a new machine and can't justify it. My i7 3770k OC'd to 4.6GhZ is only 15% shy of an 8700k's single thread performance. I ain't payin' 350 for a new CPU plus essentially all other associated components for 15%.

>15%
Same here, even without OC my processor is close to 15% to the current i7
If you translate the fps diffrence its 5-10fps in games.

You're not wrong, but I'll stick to my plan of making my 4 year break into a 5 year break.
