It is unbelievable that Intel thought it was a good idea to turn off HT on the 9700K.

That being said, if the ratio between the 8600K and the 8700K is anything to judge benefits from HT by, the 9900K is going to be a monster.

at what cost? I wonder how much power it'll use even though it's 14nm++(++++++).

>9700k doesn't even surpass 8700k

What the fuck are hilos and why does it take Ryzen 16 of them to outperform Intel when Intel only has 8 of them?

Probably because the 8700K has 12 hilos and 9700K only has 8 of them.

...threads?

At $600 it better be, because it will easily get BTFO by Threadripper

AMD has successully baited Intel into moar ringbus cores, just sit back and enjoy the show :)

9900K is going to be a disappointment. The dual-channel DDR4 and ring-bus topology is going to hamper it. That's assuming it is going throttle like hell at maximum load outside of high-end to borderline exotic cooling.

What the hell is a hilos?
By the numbers it appears to be threads, but then why that weird name

>$200 2600X matches the $450 9700k
lol

Rather at any sub 60$ cooler

Gosh, yes, why is the website El Chapuzas Informatico using such weird names for things? It's like they're speaking a different language or something!

I know that blog, it is indeed a spanish writer... Or perhaps, copy/paster of contents (a common thing done on Spanish media), either way, 'Hilo' is the translation for 'Thread'

>Hilo == thread
Is that cognate with "filament"?

>8700k is faster
AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Okay, good to know that even Intel shills explicitly say that noone should buy the 9900K.

>That being said, if the ratio between the 8600K and the 8700K is anything to judge benefits from HT by, the 9900K is going to be a monster.
Intel's HT only gives a +30% performance boost thereabouts, while Ryzen's SMT is +45%.

Given how the i9 9900k is priced at ~$550, its actual competition are Threadrippers that simply have more cores and are going to beat it any day of the week.

>9700k significantly more expensive than 8700k
>has no HT for whatever reason
>gets BTFO by 8700k and 2700X

HAHAHAHA wow

>Intel's HT only gives a +30% performance boost thereabouts
Look at the figures in OP. Between the 8600K and 8700K, in this particular test, HT gives a 43% boost.

hilos

>HT gives a 43% boost
They should put more hilos on the 9700k.

kek no hyperthreading
kek enjoy failure
kek fucking pathetic

>tfw i have to disable the four wheel drive on my 4x4 unless I want to die

>AMDfags so assblasted that they actually compare the 9900k to Threadrippers just because its more expensive now due to stock shortage
(lol

>cpus with more thread wins multithread benchmark
Kill yourself spic subhuman.

Dont you have a lawn to mow or something?

>6 cores > 8 cores
So this....is the power...of intlel

>~$550
lol it's $582

So, serious question here, what's the TDP (real, not the one reported by Shittel) on this thing?

Attached: 1537542391144.png (557x704, 495K)

seething intlel shitter lmao

Unironically 200-300W most likely

Ye

Why does amd shills always come from third world shitholes like south americas and india

STOP KVETCHING AND JUST BUY IT

what the fuck does 'mejor a menor' mean? Does it mean higher is better, or is lower better? All of you Americans responding as if you're just supposed to know spanish.

I can overclock my 6 core 8600K to 5 ghz out of the box... js

So basically, If I build a system around the 9700K I won't need to turn on my heater this winter right?

Nope

>On consumption, for the complete equipment, (it's safe to) say that varies between 160W to 1.2V to 240W with the voltage in automatic, so we will see large differences depending on the motherboard used.
Holy shit, what was the power consumption on the 8700K again?

9900k at 5GHZ could easily go beyond 350W

Attached: Power_04.png (1323x1510, 77K)

>not enough hilos

The fuck are hilos

Gee I wonder what it means
>2400g confirmed top of the line, it pulverizes both 2700X and 8700k xDDDDDDD

It says it's in seconds so I assume it means "more is worse".

Me so sorry me don't read Americano

Found the American

Better at lower values.

Calling it now: All benchmarks of this CPU will be made with top of the line water coolers and run for less than 10 minutes to not show how heavily it will heat up in any realistic scenario.
Even a good water cooler isn't going to keep the 9900K temps at reasonable ranges. Any considerable usage for a moderate amount of time will definitely show it, and I hope at least a couple reviewers show this.
There's just no way. Even some of the bigger Threadrippers, which have lower power usage, can't get good temperatures over a much bigger area. The 9900K is going to be a literal housefire, it's not even going to be a meme at this point.

These results make sense.
Hyper-threading usually gives about a 33% to multi threaded performance.
6 x 1.33 = 8, so it should be equal to an 8 core without hyper-threading.

Which means, bottom line, this is Coffee Lake with 2 extra cores and without hyper-threading.

y-yeah who needs hyperthreading haha...

Just pay 100 shekels more for that Core i9™ goy

Nothin personnel 9900k, but you're gonna get THREADED by big fat AMD SMT threads

> All benchmarks of this CPU will be made with top of the line water coolers and run for less than 10 minutes to not show how heavily it will heat up in any realistic scenario

Welcome to the world of cpu benching. That said I think Hardocp when they test cpus tend to run prime95 for a 5 minute run - that is stressful enough to highlight failings in cooling solutions.

>prime95 for a 5 minute run
INTLEL HOUSEFIRES

I don't believe it so. 5 minutes is not enough for a water cooler, liquid takes longer to heat up than a solid metal cooler. It will always take longer to plateau than an air cooler, way longer than 5 minutes. It also takes longer to cool afterwards, of course. A more realistic scenario would be about 15-20 minutes, but that's merely my opinion.
I think GamersNexus showed this in one of their videos a while ago, but I can't seem to find it, maybe it was some other reviewer.

Are they really so fucking desperate for marketing they have to rebrand the package to be some meme just to sell CPUs?

Because this is still 14 NM++++ garbage all it's gonna be is forcing even higher clock speeds to the point the shit melts from the heat in order to just barely get ahead of ryzen.

Fucking company is retarded intel is truly dying.

And beyond...

youtu.be/rJW4jRhwZBg?t=474
there's no hard graphs plotting temperature over time, but hardware unboxed says at 8:05 he's testing the 8700 non-k with a h150i pro for over 30 minutes and the temperatures stay the same at 72-73 degrees. I presume that his regular cpu reviews are done for the same amount of time, most others will probably do at least 10-15 minutes

What porn is this from?

Good luck, Europe, Australia, Canada.

they gonna lower the base clock to 1.6 ghz and claim a tdp of 45 watts

Yes, but you might want to consider getting a cooler instead

kek

"Mejor a menor", see any cognates here? Think for half a second.

"Major" and "minor", right?

Well duh, but what does the sentence mean? "More is worse"? "More or less"? "Better is less"?

NOOOO INTELBROS WE NEED MOAR COARZ MOAR NIGGAHURTZ
