Why are boomers so bad with technology

why are boomers so bad with technology
i always thought my dad was a clever guy..
>had to help him change tv input to hdmi on multiple occasions
>thinks macs are special, that they're better built and have better parts
>pays for norton antivirus on all the computers
>tells me he can't login to online banking, he didn't even register in the first place or try to googling the problem..
>pays for retarded support subscriptions, had a guy come in once cause old shitty gpu was fucked. the guy comes in, looks at computer and says gpu is fucked. then leaves

Changing input on the TV happens all the time with my dad. They press one wonrg button and they're lost.

They're this retarded with everything. Why do you think they let the US become the socialist shithole it is?

Not sure what to tell you, im second gen IT worker. Old man still likes his iphone, but everything else is win. He would be the guy with a win phone if they were reasonable. Boomeresque company loyalty and all.

basically, your dad is a good goy.

People in general suck at computers, not just boomers. Younger people being good with technology is a thoroughly debunked meme.

My boomer dad usually has no difficulties. Stupid boomers were always stupid.

>calls father bad with technology
>uses g**gle himself

My dad bought our first computer and installed Doom and Duke Nukem on it. Now he asks me to put the hdmi cable back into the tv. He is only 58 but aging scares he shit out of me.

Old PCs were unironically easier to use, more responsive too despite running on dogshit hardware. Most of the new tech is convoluted for no reason.

Boomers being bad with tech is a meme. I'm in my 40s and I guarantee I can code circles around any 20 year-old.
What's more, my kids can't even install Arch. So yeah, a lot of zoomers suck at tech too.

CLIs really are the most straightforward, but people are intimidated by them. But only if the commands are entered with a keyboard. Everyone wants a spoken command line interface now. People are weird.

They aren't necessarily dumb, just lazy. They only start thinking when you aren't around and throwing money at it doesn't help. I know that for a fact when I had to explain step by step to my mom in an email how to flash a ROM in twrp.

Who do you think created all the shit you using right now? Zoomers?

Aliens.

Your mom doesn't need to flash a ROM. Stop making things more difficult for others with your selfish hobbyism, wasting countless hours turning means into ends.

All of it was installed already, I just explained how to flash it again because it stopped booting, didn't even have to wipe anything.

You shouldn't have put it there in the first place. You're not helping.

I should have, and I did, because it's last official update was in 2015.

This. I'm doing a CS major and a female colleague of mine can't even install windows. Her roastie friends gave her shitty advices on buying computers, has an iPhone.. This isn't a boomer exclusive thing

my parents are boomers and have been using computers since their 20s.
it's a mix of "can't teach an old dog new tricks" and it's not what he's spent his life using.
go drive a horse-driven carriage while shooting at niggers and moonshiners like your dad did in his prime and I'm sure you'll know just how to drive one because it's a common skill from his era.

I believe I could. Horses aren't complicated.

>Dad can't touch type, types like 5 words per minute with 1 finger
>Suggest he spends half an hour every day learning to type for a month because he'll probably get up to 50 wpm in that amount of time
>Nobodys got time for that
>Spends an hour and a half typing 5 paragraphs on the internet every day

when you are old you don't adapt to new shit since the time ahead of you is less than the time you already had
