My cute little youtuber's viewership is so dead after she forgot to turn off the microphone when her boyfriend calls!

how comfy are the campfire audio IEMs?
the angular shape looks good but not comfy

What's a good upgrade from ATH M40X?
I'm just want something more comfy with better sound. Price range >250$

DT880, 770 if you absolutely require closed headphones

Feet don't look like that.

Mostly my desktop, sometimes through a Roland external audio module
>Type of headphone
Full size, no doubt
>Open or closed
I don't really know, to be fair. I'd say closed since I sometimes use my headphones to record voice clips for voice acting or singing jobs, but the bleeding factor with open ones has rarely been a problem in the past, even when using condenser mics
>Comfort level
I gotta use them a lot, sometimes for hours on end, so the more comfortable they are, the better
>Sound signature
I don't think I have preferences. I really do need a jack of all trades kind of pair, since i'm gonna be using them for music, movies, videogames and to record stuff, mainly voice, piano and drums.
>Past headphones
I've had a trusty pair of Sennheiser HD558 for four years and they've been great for my purposes, then I worked with a pair of HD598cs, and they were great too, if a bit too dark

In the terms of sound, what do you dislike on m40x? What do you like about them? You might want to look into Sennheiser HD-599 if open back isn't an issue to you.

Hey /hpg/,

Anyone have any sub-$100 Over-The-Ear (fully covering my big ears would be great) Bluetooth Headphones they could recommend?

Attached: balla.jpg (586x587, 57K)

Headphone collecting is a disease! I'm out of here, cutting myself off.

Their sound is great, but they're on their deathbed and if I'm already upgrading, I guess sound should be better too.
Will check the senns out. Any closed backs I should try?
Thanks, will check them out

Uh, I don't really know that much about closed backs, but possibly AKG K550, Shure SR840 or Soundmagic HP150

get takstar pro82s and a bluetooth adapter

pick one /hpg/

just bought the JBL LSR305

its no surprise zmf man got into wood headphones with a sniffer like that

>collecting
>not continually upgrading until you get to TOTL

This is what listening to headphones too much does to you.

Are headphones worse for your ears or better for your ears than speakers?

worse, but in tylls case its better

Quality Harman Curve(tm) product, eh chap?

Soon enough you will realize Harman is a meme.

Gotcha lol

I just ordered these 599's, do i need an amp now? Or are they fine without one

Attached: 2001241103.jpg (706x1272, 194K)

Fine without, but all headphones are better with one. Buy Massdrop O2/SDAC combo.

no they're not all better with one stop trying to trick people into wasting money just because you did

Amps are only useful for gain. I use one because my headphones need one to get good volume (especially with EQ).

do i need a DAC and amp for HD6XX? what are some good DAC and amp for HD6XX that can be bought in EU?

No

but my mobo's inbuilt sound card can't amplify my HD6XX enough

How do you know

it sounds like shit and three times more quiet than my hd558

Then why are you asking if you need one, if you already know you do?
Anyway, they're easy to drive, so anything like the fiio E10K or full of shit will be more than enough
the E10K is on amazon for 80 merkelbucks or 70 britbongs which is probably the cheapest you can get with a dac/amp combo

It sounds like shit because it's an HD650

The quietness is due to higher impedance, just crank the volume.

whats the difference between dac and amp?

they're the same thing it's a jewish conspiracy to make you spend more on shit you don't need
I just buy vinyl, read the grooves and imagine the music, I'm not giving money to kikes so they can dictate how it sounds like, that's how they brainwash you

Senn HD 599 or DT 990? What's the difference sound wise?

> It's a fine device for what it is, but it has two main limitations: lack of power in the amp, and an annoying click in the audio every time it kicks on after a period of silence

lots of complaints about this on their amazon page, any other DAC/AMP recommendation?

DAC stands for digital-analog converter. Basically what it does it takes the 0's and 1's from your computer and turns them into analog line level signal which in itself isn't suitable for driving headphones or speakers. Some audiophile DAC units can also contain their own integrated headphone amplifier for instance, and some receivers and amplifiers can have their own DAC.

Amplifier takes that line level signal and boosts it to levels needed to actually listen to your music. There are multiple different types with different technologies, and usually if you get buzz or noise it comes from this step - some motherboard amplifier circuits are notoriously noisy, not to mention they usually don't have enough power to drive 600 ohm headphones.

>recommending fiio e10k with hd6xx

hd6xx is around 300-400 ohm and e10k is barely capable of pushing past 150 ohm, you fucking morons

how do you smart people prospect for music?

HD 599 are veiled and a bit muddy while the DT 990 have too much treble

It has enough power to drive your headphones, it's not an issue. Dunno about the click. The next budget option out there is the Schiit Fulla, I guess.

You need around 2.2 Vrms and 7.5 mA to drive the HD6xx to 110 dB SPL. The E10K can output that, you fucking moron.

What's your budget? Here's something cheap
amazon.co.uk/Monoprice-UK-Desktop-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B07DVRMM3W/

my budget is infinite, but somewhere between $80 to $250

i don't plan to buy expensive headphones

>my budget is infinite
Get the Questyle CMA600i. :^)

The right side on my DT990s just an heroed, what are some similar headphones around the same price point (up to £200~ish)? Comparable ones I've seen are AKG K702 and Philips Fidelio X2, but are they just memes or actually good?

Attached: 1535313078081.png (286x286, 109K)

give me something for $80 to $250, i'm seeing complaints about Schiit Fulla 2 so that's out of the question

Modi3+Magni3.

The monoprice amp works. Measures well, fuckton of power. Spending any more is foolish.

i can find "MAGNI 3" but not "modi 3"

are they both separate products?

I love these

Attached: 2F20018D-1301-4D1D-B10A-6F63EC2ACBE5.jpg (1242x1760, 731K)

Go to the Schiit website, 3 is just the version.
You'll find it under products -> modi/magni

doesnt matter since they are shit.
Confort is alright. if IEMs dont usually bother you these wont.

I got AKG K702 myself, it's nice pair of headphones to wear, but the sound signature is something some people don't really enjoy. These are definitely more plain and analytical sounding headphones. There's also this for them(and other headphones too) which I'm currently in process of trying out: github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq

Yea, they will give you a more accurate frequency response with most headphones. A high output impedance will change your frequency response. So if you want to hear your headphones the way they are supposed to sound, you need to use an amp that has at least 1/8th the output impedance of your headphones. HD 599s are 50 ohm headphones. So you'd want to use an output that has under a 6 ohm output. Only decent headphone amps will have this. It's not just about getting more volume.

see
btw, these frequency response changes are very audible with low impedance cans.

Oops, I meant see
I tried EQing with my K702 with that. I thought it made them sound too muffled and that they were much better without.

Closed-back? Custom One Pro Plus or Custom Studio.

Basically every modern phone out there has a m-muh 1/8th impedance!!) Ohm amp
you drank too much audiophool koolaid

It all depends on the headphone.

>Budget: 50-100 USD
>Location: Mexico

>Type of headphone: IEMs
>Open or closed: if they have sound isolation im ok.
>Comfort level: doesnt really matter
>Sound signature: Bassy/V-Shaped.
>Past headphones: currently using Sony MDR-XB950BT and AKG IG955.

I need a Bluetooth replacement for my earbuds, my AKG are fine but my gf needed ones so i gave them to her (she always liked them) i can buy another par, since amazon has Duo packs in sale right now, but as im going full with the Mi 8, might as well get bluetooth earbuds, my Sony's work like a charm and with Viper4Android they sound absolutely perfect for me.

Bonus points if they're aptX HD or LDAC compatible, Sony only has some shitty sports microvibrator lookin ones and are way expensive.

Oh, but I thought you said all headphones are better with an amp, you fucking idiot.

magni 3 is an amp, modi is the amp. they renamed it to just modi though.

how's the isolation on the m1060c?

Takstar pro 82 is endgame for me

More like end your life gay

I think I'll go for the modi+magni for my HD6XX.

Attached: 1448289981304.jpg (604x550, 83K)

spend that money on crack instead that at least isn't complete placebo

Why would I intentionally want harmonic distortion from a tube amp?

Attached: mahoro question mark.jpg (666x720, 286K)

No issues with fit or comfort of my Orions.

do not buy schiit products desu

Why not?
The Modi 3 and Magni 3 look great.

Attached: 1514111560221.jpg (879x720, 132K)

What's wrong with it?

ha, good one

Even in your picture, the low impedance is technically better and more accurate to the headphones natural FR. So yea, they are all better.

Massdrop O2 + Topping D10

Why bully friend?
I'm poor.

why has no one recommended topping a30 and topping d30?

Because this is Schiit + Sennheiser HD600 thread.

sennheiser products are fucking great

schiit products are... quite sadly shit

I would get Massdrop 02 but I don't know which version to get. I live in Yurop, so I suppose 220 V? But the wall outlets are 230 V, so will 220 V even work? And what's the difference between standard and medium gain?

You mean the Schiit shills are Fulla Schiit? :^)

you could get for example the headnhifi O2 if you live in europe

>tfw working long hours in the meat factory to afford beyerdyamic 'phones

what gain should I get? standard or low?

Attached: 1513524643196.png (632x167, 16K)

standard is fine

what is the difference between 2.5x and 1.0x?

1.0x is more convenient for low impedance headphones

is my hd6xx low impedance?

between 220-250v is the same
110-120 is also the same
95-105 works on 110-120 but will die rather soon
Hz must match

it's pretty high

my DAC's line voltage is 2.1v tho
