CPU >R3 2200G - Bare minimum gaming(dGPU optional) >R5 2400G/i5-8400 - Consider IF on sale >R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs >R7 2700/X - Best high-end gaming/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform >Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT
RAM >8GB - Enough for most gaming use >16GB - Standard for heavy use >32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this >CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal
Graphics cards >RTX 2000 cards are worse performance per $ than current GPUs. Display >Consider 75hz minimum; 60hz are mostly old models. >Always consider FreeSync with AMD cards >PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING
Why change your mind? Do it. They need the R&D money.

Some games take up to 12. But they are early access and most likely won't take more than 6 or 7 in the future. 8 is good enough as long as you don't have 80tabs opened on your browser on the background.
Only 7% faster on average even with OC against a stock 8400? Is this correct?
Ayden Hughes
youtu.be/AUyF--fJaaM?t=69 Watch it. >ASus crosshair 7 hero >4.2 overclock using aggressively turned G.skill sniper X 3400Mhz with tightened sub-timings >and the cooler has been upgrade to the Corsair H115i Pro
THAT is what was used to get the performance benchmarks you keep posting each time without context. Not only are yo downplaying the components used, but also their price.
Again if all of this escaped you, here is the man who made the benchmark, saying it CLEAR as cryztal
youtu.be/AUyF--fJaaM?t=1442 >Given that the intel CPU was over all faster this makes it better value choice for gamers. >At the very least the OC Ryzen build will require an upgraded cooler, but for the results shown here you will need a high quality motherboard and some premium Samsung B-die.
No. That website is shit. 2600OC'd performs better than the 8400. See
Samuel Moore
you need to go back to and prove that the motherboard matters at fucking all when the memory controller is on the cpu
Levi Sanders
This general sure is a partisan shithole
Easton Roberts
AMD shills are ramping up the shilling.
Gotta earn all those rupees.
Leo Baker
Need recommendations for a gaming PC with a nice screen. Budget 1500$.
Ian Gutierrez
>ASus crosshair 7 hero irrelevent >4.2 overclock using aggressively turned G.skill sniper X 3400Mhz with tightened sub-timings boo woo the 8400 cant overclock because its shit >and the cooler has been upgrade to the Corsair H115i Pr and it can be done on a 212 evo
Liam Parker
>doesn't realize both screenshots are from the same source, only one is a youtube video and the other is from their website

Intel defence force is out in full force today running damage control for intels flopped skylake-x and coffee lake rebrands see for more info
>different motherboards get CPUS to different GHz because of their phases and BIOS >doesn't matter >different motherboards have different RAM compatibility >doesn't matter lol
I have like double or even triple that amount of tabs open. Damn, maybe it is a consideration to get 32gb of ram.
Isaiah Smith
god I wish AMD would btfo Intel once and for all. I just can't justify upgrading to a Ryzen when overall gaming performance will be the same as my 4790k and at the same time I can't justify $700 for a 8700k setup that offers so few things in productivity.
>if it's used for their shilling its a good trusted source >if it's going against their narrative it's a intel shill >the source for both is from the same fucking person, but amd drones have no problem in scientifically beliving one person is their savior and enemy at the same time Reminds me how when AdoredTV said AMD gpus are trash, the fanboys turned on him like a pack of rabid dogs.
Matthew Bennett
>Bios >to dumb to use a bios fucking JUST and literally any $100 b450 has good enough phases for overclocking
>different motherboards have different RAM compatibility cheap b die works on almost any $100 b450
Julian Collins
There is a little star next to the URL of the site in your browser. It allows you to save the website to your favorites. You know, so you don't have to keep it open if you want to visit it later.
You should consider this instead of buying large amounts of RAM when prices have never been so high.
Oliver Evans
>if it's used for their shilling its a good trusted source >if it's going against their narrative it's a AMD shill >the source for both is from the same fucking person, but intel drones have no problem in scientifically beliving one person is their savior and enemy at the same time Reminds me how when Linustechtips said the i9 are trash, the fanboys turned on him like a pack of rabid dogs.
Leo Davis
>I unironically want to buy a 9900K for gaymen. Lol if I had money I'd buy it eventhough I am not gaming. Would do it just for lulz to post a pic here so the AMD shills are even more mad.
I own Ryzen for the record but hell that shilling becomes annoying.
Jacob Gutierrez
Me too desu.
Jonathan Robinson
>when are the new Ryzen supposed to be released ? August/Septermber 2019
Jayden Collins
>Reminds me how when Linustechtips said the i9 are trash, the fanboys turned on him like a pack of rabid dogs. >things that never happened
LMAO at the intel shills ignoring completely the fact that intels """""best""""" cpus are housefire rebrands and trying to get this thread to bump limit so they can vandalize it again.
>fucking JUST and literally any $100 b450 has good enough phases for overclocking Factually wrong, depends on the phases, VRM cooling, what CPU you are using since some are more or less power hungry.
>cheap b die works on almost any $100 b450 You can have a shit bios that wont let your BEST, b-die RAM go over 2999 and thats with a 170$ X470 board Here is just one example youtu.be/gXwLcr7qj1c?t=132
William White
thats just AMD shills upvoting it, it proves nothing!
Xavier Phillips
>that vid holy shit motherboard doesn't matter fags blown the fuck out!
It's like this around every launch whether it's Intel, AMD, or Nvidia. Whether it's actual shills, or false flaggers. Mostly falseflaggers. Or just people who want to enjoy the drama and flip sides.
>t. person who posts the OP sometimes
With B-die, you do get a bit better performance than from the 4790k. It's also more power efficient. But yeah it's not huge, and your CPU is good enough still that you could wait for the 3600X/3700X.
Uhhh not every b450 is fine. The A-Pro and Bazooka are. Pro4 too. But there are some that you really don't want to overclock an 8 core on. It's a better situation than 3 phase Z370 boards which are hardly sufficient for a 8350k let alone a 8700k, despite Z370 being the high end chipset for Intel, but it's not >literally any board is fine Though for X470, you can't go wrong as long as it's not Gigabyte, at least.
Kek okay. As long as it's not Gigabyte nor Biostar. It's easy to forget Biostar.
Ian Cook
>biostar wow a shitty mobo is shit, also nice samefagging
Daniel Johnson
The comments since the video was released are all positive.
That AMD shill is talking out of his ass once again.
Dylan Rogers
DDR5 when and what it'll be like, e.g. freqs and timings?
Ryan Allen
Yeah, it's good. Only real reason to get better is if you need an external clockgen which most people don't.
>i-it's just BIOSTAR! The comment I was disproving that motherboards don't matter and that CPU speed isn't effected by a motherboard or that RAM speed/compatibility isn't effected by a motherboard. Look here fuck heads
Henry Robinson
Are their people on this board that think a 200 billion dollar trust doesn't have the money to hire pajeets to sit on here and shill for them all day?
Ethan Young
Thanks user, that doesn't sound like something I'd need
Daniel Cox
I saw you get btfo in the /v/ archive, you should go back
Logan Bell
Thanks man, now I gotta go find a GTX 1080ti
Angel Perez
2600X/2700(x) or 9600k/9700k for gaming at 1440p strictly? I'm still on a 2600k @ 4.8ghz however my motherboard is starting to give up
Luis Robinson
This is some clever new shilling to try and cope with how shitty the new 9000 series is.
No one who frequents /pcbg/ says motherboard doesn't matter. Generally the A-Pro or Bazooka is recommended as a minimum, even though there are cheaper (and worse) boards. Usually Tomahawk or Mortar for something a bit better. X470 Prime Pro for something higher end still. Then Crosshair, Taichi, or M7 for high end. Biostar never gets recommended. Like fuck off. There's maybe one guy saying >hur dur motherboard doesn't matter It's not the consensus. You aren't BTFOing anyone.
That user saying any $100 b450 can OC fine is probably right if you exclude Biostar and Gigabyte. Even that ASUS TUF board, as bad as it is, is still decent enough
Owen James
SHHHHH everyone don't talk about skylake-x 2.0 divert conversation to $350 overclocked housefires
>tries to argue that motherboards don't even matter >give a clear example of motherboards mattering >it's just a shit motherboard what do you expect >you just proved my point >uhhhhh you got blown away in some archive or something Nice damage control.
7 mins to use gimp to change those (you)s, last time we talked it was 6 mins you got to step that gimp game up rajesh.
Wyatt Williams
>his is some clever new shilling to try and cope with how shitty the new 9000 series is. I have been telling you amd shills for literal months to Stop being shills and add a disclamer as to what hardware was used instead of just posting 2600 OC beats 8400, you refused. I made a picture to literally just provide source on the info and prove you are manipulating faggots.
>well motherboards don't even matter >prove you wrong >wow this is some next level shilling to cope with 9000 launch Keep coping. The reality is I hate shills and just because you shill for AMD doesn't make you any better than intel shills.
>shall I address a single point that was made or proven >no I will vaguely comment on the time between posts
Michael Jackson
>housefire isnt a meme its just a forced AMDrone meme ur new go back to /v/ now and argue about mobos there
Jeremiah Peterson
all your points are anecdotal evidence and no actual proof
Asher Thompson
mate I'm an AMD fan but they've had literal housefires in the past as well, all I've implied is that there's one angry faggot who keeps forcing this word here and in a couple of other threads non-stop
Gavin Barnes
>Linus OP >AMDomination in the OP What timeline is this?
Landon Davis
After the 1770W stunt Intel is once again the supreme king of housefires.
Landon Johnson
So obviously I should go with AMD because they're much cheaper however which model should I pick?
Thomas Davis
What's your purposes?
Nicholas Campbell
8700k is almost $400 now holy shit
Nathaniel Morgan
In Europe it's over $550.
Aaron Rivera
toppest of keks
Alexander Moore
I play games at 1440p and occasionally I might try out a new emulator.
Ethan Rodriguez
>buy new gpu >sends free games code >must be redeemed in origins and steam Nice try, rabbi. I'm not falling for your shit. >$150 in free games Fuck off.
