I only listen to audio in .wav format at 44100hz sample rate. To the untrained ear there is no difference between wav quality and flac quality, but I know better.

128kbit/s can sound good if you compress it with ample headroom.

its his and his wifes old iTunes collection and rips from his MiniDisk years.

give him a brake. I trust his opinion more than some what.cd user that redownloads every thing every second year because their is a new improved "NR RIP"

also there is some thing quite keno about having things in dog shit mp3 quality and then also having physical tapes and vinyls and reels of it that he does actually have. quite "punk" that way he gets to experience the joy of digital distortion which is all the rage these days

128kbit/s never sounds good.

Interesting pic, however difference looks very small. I doubt it's even perceptible by ear.

>friendly reminder that old men can't hear the difference anyway

>listening comparison
>one of the sources has a louder volume
>"this one clearly has better quality"

>constantly repeats the excuse of "I'm not an expert on this topic" but still thinks his advice is valuable

that chart is bullshit a 25year old can not hear 8000hz.

He retired...

What anime is this?

I know he's not really very knowledgeable about certain things but his subjective tastes seem pretty reasonable, and he's just comfy to listen to talk about old tech. Also, his videos are fairly well produced. I've wondered what his actual job was though, you know, before the youtube thing

You can't hear past 20fps.

flac is just louder mp3

no, flac is also the format that you convert mp3s into when you need to rack up points on private sharing sites

You'll only rack up a permaban if you attempt this.

>128kbit/s never sounds good.

Well, it's a big part why you can hear a difference between lossless and lossy, adding a lot of clipping makes the sound worse, trust me or try it yourself.

>someone opens the converts in spek
>get banned
nice

>unironic le

didn't realize the scale of that graph is limited.

still not many 25year olds cant hear over 20khz

also think the male female thing is old data or if you live in 3rd world.

was when women just stayed at home and didn't take public transport to work or worked in factories I don't think its biological was lifestyle based.

Lurk more if you're serious

>also think the male female thing is old data
Nope. It's genetics. Similar to how far, far fewer women suffer from colorblindness.

source

I listen to FLAC only.

warosu.org/g/thread/S60666944#p60667260

he's not actually an audiophile

you don't see him spending thousands on meme vinyl pickups and speaker cables as thick as your hand

What is an "Idol song"?

Unironic weeb shit.

No, really, is it a music genre?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_idol

Oh, so japanese Disney-Pop.

Thanks.

i'm sitting here feeling angry but i'm mostly jealous i didn't think of a better scam first

then what is it

> I don't think its biological was lifestyle based
What did he meant by this?

>women didn't work which is why they'd go deaf faster

idol music is music by idols

Its manufactured

ignorance is bliss

>mp3 320 kbps vs FLAC

Is there any AUDIBLE difference?

>that chart is bullshit a 25year old can not hear 8000hz.
A 25 year old can hear 16kHz just fine unless he has hearing damage.

tfw 25 and can only hear 14khz

its the opposite you idiot that chart is old as fuck its from data from the like 60-70s women stayed at home then in a quite house men went to work and did narly shit obviously the men went deff earlier.

now girls use loud headphones on public transport just like us and watch youtube all die imo we would age the same now.

What was that quote about the Alan Parsons Project guy about how audiophiles use music to listen to their equipment?

ALL music is manufactured

yer I got it wrong thought it was full range obviously it goes further off the chart to like 20khz.

I did a youtube hearing test and couldn't hear past 15khz could it be because my headphones are crap SS Siberia v1.

the audiophile is a huge troll, and I like it.
look at this
>its bad
>its giving me convulsions
these people are trolling.

You are wrong, the people eating this up are serious.

>>its giving me convulsions

Is that what it is? I thought the music was so good he was orgasming

>tfw can hear 20000khz
>but I have tinnitus

Not all of us are blessed with golden ears.

You can definitely hear "the difference" but whether you can hear the difference is up for debate.

Play an instrument, learn a language. It trains your ear. Not everyone is born autistic with a perfect ear.

I killed my hearing by overdriving my amplifier when listening to Japanese breakcore. Didn't care that it was distorted (given the genre it's basically all distorted by definition and a little more wasn't gonna hurt) and didn't care that I had headphones on and it was almost loud enough to be painful.

Now I no longer care about audio equipment having a good frequency response at 10+kHz cause I can't hear it anyway.

gee i sure am glad i spent so much longer downloading this version

Attached: The Doors Morrison Hotel.flac.png (3840x1921, 2.21M)

That just means you get to save space and use 96kbps mp3s.

should have got the DSD version mate.

Borgioguie excess.

I'm 35 and I can hear perfectly at 8000Hz.
I've never been to rock/metal/whatever concerts, never used earplugs, always worked in noise-free environments. However I have a hearing loss near 15 kHz, I guess that comes with age.

Nigga I'm 28 and I can hear up to 17KHz. I can even hear the Mosquito Tone if I put it loud enough.

They're like 2.5k burger credits and he thinks they sound harsh and tinny.

read rest of thread I made mistake I know 15-20khz is normal for like 20-40 year olds. I just wonder how much the equipment you use determents how well you do in thous hearing tests

like could a shitty motherboard audio out and bad headphones lead to a lower score?
