Katanas
>Surpasses some western swords in sharpness
>has inferior reach and versatility compared to most western swords
Laserdisc
>isn't a fucking sword
>isn't even a weapon
Quality thread.

A shitty old meme format for idiots.

>meme format
It reigned supreme until dvd.

Katanas are a revered cultural symbol, and literally no one remembers Laserdisc.

> OP trying to diss Japanese culture on an anime imageboard

I fucking hate how there's certain rare Anime OVAs that can only be found on Laserdisc and nobody who owns one bothers to upload them to the internet.

Which are?

starship troopers

Srslee? Someone should get around to doing that.

Only ignorant fools didn’t acknowledge the superiority of Laserdisc yet.

>starship troopers
But it' is available.

we are both talkin the anime right not the movie or the western cartoon

Dream Machine

Yea the LD from the 80's is currently available.

>was the most used optical disc format before DVD
>meme format

Hows the rewinding, fast forwarding and frame by frame on bluray?

Delet this

Acknowledge what?
It's a shit format today.
It's not going to come back from the dead even for retro shit since all the discs are rotted now anyway.

>implying most people give a shit about anime these days
we're not in 2006 anymore sweetie

Someone will probably upload it in 2028

>Overrated garbage that was stuck in the past which is worse than other alternatives

Sounds about right. The only reason I posted too was because of your katanas quote. Fuck katanas. They were absolute shit. Daily reminder a knight would destroy a samurai.

It’s superior to Blu-Ray in every way and free as in freedom.

post your laserdisc pressing equipment

>Inferior video quality
>inferior sound
>most discs are rotted
>hardware doesn't work
>no HDMI
>not free at all, still patent encumbered until 2050 sometime

Daisuki announced that they were releasing anime on LD back in 2016.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disc_rot#Laser_rot

LaserDisc is shit

>On August 1, 2017, Daisuki released a statement announcing the closure of their operations effective October 31, 2017.

You had to flip the disc in the middle of most movies, so no

>we are both talkin the anime right not the movie or the western cartoon
>But it' is available.
Are you downloading it right now?

Do you think that there's a link between them deciding to release anime on LD, and then closing down?

I doubt it. Given I could only find info on them just announcing it and no actual releases from it, they probably didn't even get past just announcing it. If they did try to, they could have went bankrupt trying to get all the equipment to press laserdiscs.

They claimed that they the first title on LD was available the following month. They made the announcement in 2016.

>July 2, 2016
>Their first release is scheduled for next month in the lucrative format of Laserdiscs.
>We’re starting out the line with our most notable Daisuki exclusive anime, like Cardfight!! Vanguard G GIRS Crsis/ STRIDE GATE and Sushi Ninja!

>not released
Like i said, they didn't get past the announcement

Big artwork always looks better

Katanas were a popular and useful item for hundreds of years. If they were like laser disks they'd have come out only a few years before better weapons and almost nobody bought them.

Not an argument, pumpkin pie.

>WAS ...
Once a handy formed stone was the epitome of the weapons industrial complex.
What is your actual question?

MD was pretty cool, just look at it.

Laserdisc and Minidisc are the superior ubermensch aryan choice.

based and redpilled

if they could have had disk density enough to put movies on them, it would have been GOAT.
