omega poorfag here (wife spends all our money on the kids and paying bills). What can I pick up from ebay or anywhere to make EU4 run slightly better (the only game I ever play when I have some time off). Is my CPU or GPU a bigger pile of garbage?
Started my new build today and really disappointed with Fractal.
I loved the Arc Midi R2 but it's discontinued, so I got a Define R6. And it's just so crappy and overpriced. I bought a version without a window but it still comes with a PSU Shroud. If I want to put 2 140mm fans on the front next to each other, I have to take out all the drive bays and mount drives behind the motherboard. The front door is cheap and flimsy. The top of the case looks like shit if you take off the mesh. The fan controller has no documentation.
Just prepping the case I already hate it and am going to return it. What case out nowadays is closest to the R2 with no side window?
thank you, the pure base is what I'm looking for. how is its layout? The arc midi r2 was literally fucking perfect and I guess fractal just isn't the company it was anymore

CPU >R3 2200G - Bare minimum gaming(dGPU optional) >R5 2400G/i5-8400 - Consider IF on sale >R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs >Wait for R7 3700X - Surely the best for gaming and not a massive overpriced disappointment like the 9700k >R7 2700/X - Best high-end gaming/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform >Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT
Graphics cards >RTX 2000 cards are worse performance per $ than current GPUs. Anyone familiar with the ryzen master software? Why is there no option to apply "precision boost over clocking" on boot?
Mason Powell
Good morning, Ranjeet .
Lucas Ramirez
the layout is pretty good I think? couple of optical and hard drive mounts that can be removed, PSU at the bottom, ATX and mATX (and mITX) mobo support, lots of fans but really quiet. BTW I think Silverstone and LianLi both offer a case that looks like your arc midi r2 but with better quality. I'd still recommend the BeQuiet though.
Silverstone and lianli have such a bloated product catalog that I'm not going to bother. I'm just going to order the bequiet. have some SFW breasts user
anyone know a good cheap 1080p monitor with a good refresh rate?
Elijah Sanchez
Arigatou
Parker Foster
Give it a rest my man, the REAL OP that user shared considers both companies for both CPU and GPU. Your ass-blasted shill OP just tows the Intel/Nvidia shill line
Jayden Ortiz
1080p 144Hz or 1440p 75Hz, let's assume I will go full-retard on the GPU to handle it. Trying to work out my budget.
Parker Smith
Completely subjective question. For me as a casual gaymer I'd go for the 1440p 75hz for eye candy. If you play Counter Strike competitively you'd probably prefer the 144hz 1080p.
Jack Cruz
Post your case and say something nice about it. >3x140mm intake >upto 10 HDD bays >PSU shroud can be completely removed for better airflow >maybe undetectable by radar
I got a meshify C because its the only non-window with mesh front case I could find. and the mesh design is retarded, why does it need a pattern? the case industry is in a really bad place.
Parker Barnes
building out a first pc since my pentium 4 days...geforce 2 baby!
Need a recommendation for a nice quiet case without a window in mid tower, preferably with cable management and front access usb/etc . I know its vague but I'm completely out of the loop.
Levi Rodriguez
I'm not a competitive gamer but I do enjoy those types of games and the higher framerate seems like it would just feel really smooth. Guess I need to find somewhere that demos 144hz monitors to see if it's as great as I'd imagine.
Daniel Green
Actually I want a plain steel side panel too. Too bad they only bundle that with previous non-pro version. But after a while, well, nothing wrong with tempered glass panel. Just don't enable the RGB and it's done. Looking inside the case sometime feel nice too. >meshify C They claim that the pattern on mesh improve the airflow. Not sure if that true though.
Ian White
Reminder that getting 144 fps/having a low response time monitor wont make you better at games, save the money and get something that will actually help you like a gayming mouse
Hudson Myers
For the same price, should I go for 1800x or 2600? why?
Logan Sanchez
Maybe a Silent base 600 or 601. Not the best for airflow but that's not the focus of those.
Blake Rivera
what are you gonna be using your pc for?
Kevin Phillips
looking for a decent nas to plug into my router, was thinking this one: amazon.com/gp/product/B074X952KV it's a wd my book duo, either their 6tb or 8tb version (leaning on their 8tb). i'd just set it up to mirror/raid1 anyway though.
there any other decent options for this? the linked one says it uses wd red drives
Isaiah Torres
1800x got more thread, higher base clock but you gonna need to pay more since it didn't came with cooler.
Luke Carter
games for myself, not for streaming, and I intend to start 3dcg soon

Most new cases nowadays don't have any 5.25" drives bays anymore. How do you guys get around this?
Zachary Edwards
hi fellow poorfag your computer is kind of shit (sorry just being honest) what motherboard are you using? you should at least double your ram but i cant recommend something without knowing which board you have. download and install cpu-z and then post a screenshot of the mainboard tab oh jesus i just noticed system odel dg41rq__ is your model thats a fucking ddr2 board how old is your fucking computer sorry user
Carson Cox
why do you need a 5.25 drive bay?
Hunter Campbell
For a bluray/dvd drive.
Blake Ross
Some new case still have option for 5.25" though. And they are decent cases too.
If I have a budget of $1.5-1.6k, should I go with intel or amd for my build? I'd have to buy a decent monitor as well, I currently have an old piece of shit that I want to replace very badly.
Is it a good idea to buy an SSD with the most GB/$ while completely disregarding everything else?
Nathaniel Turner
Where's the butthurt AMD Pajeet?

When is the 3700x gonna come out?

Everyone knows that's not true lol. Except those AMDonkeys.
Benjamin Cruz
I'm not really a competitive gamer, I do notice the difference between 60hz and 144hz and it is great, and even 75hz on a 2ms TN is noticeably smoother than 60hz on a 5ms VA when you've been adjusted to it, but I feel like I can easily adjust back to 60hz after some time whereas big resolution jumps to me are so much more obvious and beneficial for making all games look more impressive and detailed. I mostly play single player games and only care for a solid 30fps or 60fps lock in those but I do also play PUBG and CSGO and get into online shooters every once in a while but I'm fine with 60fps as a target frame rate.
My question is if 1440p is a really noticeable improvement from 1080p, is it worth the upgrade if you have a keen eye and are a graphics whore like myself? I built my first PC in 2011 and going from BF3 on xbox 360 at 720p (or 540p up-scaled?) to my new PC at native 1080p literally had me laughing out loud in amazement at the MASSIVE jump in visual quality, I remember yelling at my cousin to come and see how amazing true 1080p with high texture quality looked in BF3 compared to the xbox 360 version we all had been playing days and weeks before my PC parts arrived. Did going from 1080p to 1440p impress you?
Bought a meme monitor a while back, Acer Eq whatever it was, curved 144hz freesync display, 1080p, and I love that shit to death, it's my first 144hz monitor
Wyatt Howard
Nice blog where can i subscribe?

It's been two years since my last upgrade (1070) what should I do next?
>eu4 Dont worry about it, people with 8700k are running it in 20fps. This engine is a steaming pile of garbage and paradox keeps adding more and more content into this game. Never upgrade your pc for paradox games, even if its just the only thing you play and im not some dirty casual.
I have the same except I modded the side panel so now it has a clear acrylic window, looks great for my RBG gaymur lighting and the airflow is great too.
Jordan Martinez
also has room for cable management in the back and basically it's perfect, not gonna change this case ever.
Jose Diaz
Tell me how you did it. I want to do the same thing to my case.
Is this acceptable airflow? This is the only case I've ever had that doesn't have any spot for a front fan and it weirds me out. I have 2 intake on the side and 1 exhaust out the top and an unused spot for a fan on the back.
Yeah that should be OK. Basically you want more air flowing into the case than out to create positive air pressure inside the case.
Dylan Smith
>that pussy green geforce gtx The only thing I love about amd gpus is how powerful the bright red RADEON feels. Too bad it's the only powerful thing in their gpus lol.
Elijah Barnes
>toy lightsaber
Could you really not have been bothered to throw that away or at least hide it from the camera?
Yes, going from 1080 to 1440 is more noticeable than from 60hz to 75hz, but going from 60 to 144 still feels better. I guess depends what you play, most console games are locked to 60fps anyway so going for 1440p would be better if that's what you play. Imo 1440p75hz is the sweet spot for now.
Caleb Hernandez
Is the top used for water cooled CPU? Unlike fan coolers, water coolers don't allow the CPU air to mix with the case since everything goes directly out. This is good for mid size cases.
I woould say this is more than enough, especially if you're water cooling since the only thing really exhausting heat inside the case is the GPU. Traditionally the ideal airflow is intake from the front and out the back or from the bottom out the top. Two side intakes seems weird to me, see how close your GPU or CPU is to both those intakes because you might want to change them to exhaust.

I have a MSI Z77A-G43 (MS-7758) what would you guys recommend as a good graphics card replacement for my old 680.
