Bought a NFB 11.28 with a TCXO as mentioned in the last thread, loving it thus far. Anyone else have a GD?

Also what output is the best? Currently using optical.

Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?

I wish I had gf like that.

non-feedback design is going to measure bad, but measurements are not that important i think. i'm trying to decide myself getting an audio gd or the idsd micro

I do love how they show the process.

I keep hearing this bad measurement bullshit
Yet to me my old NFB 12 and NFB 11 sounded fucking great and even powered 990 pro easy.

yuuri is better

What kind of pad do you guys prefer?
Pleather, velour, leather or hybrids?

Attached: Sheep_Std_Pad_2_2000x.jpg (2000x2000, 373K)

suede

Looking to replace my current headset, I would prefer something wireless. I need a good mic as well, but that part doesn't need to be wireless, or attached.

how good are Soekris DAC/amps?
Modhouse have the entire lineup on sale right now

Velour. I literally can't stand any pleather/leather.

But is she in HAM6? *sips*

well i did wonder if someone had ever done anime of battlefield 2142
guess that answers my question

Sennheiser GAME ZERO
1MORE Spearhead

They obviously sound nice, but I expect better build quality than 100% plastic at $300.

cute drawing of me

Any recommendations for a pair of IEMs to casually listen to music and podcasts? Anything under

If you want a good mic then get one. Samson Go Mic is the cheapest good mic but there are plenty of others.
For a $150 closed back I would look at the Takstar Pro 82, Sony MDR 1A(there is used like new for $150 on amazon), Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro(not warm but well built and support boom mic and super comfy), AKG K553 MK11(theres one on amazon for 160 with a free amp).
Some more expensive step up options would be Nad Viso HP50, Urbanfun One(reviews under rbh hp-2), ath-a990z.
That should be enough to get you started looking stuff up. Pro 82 is the best value, viso HP50 is a good warm headphone. My choice would be find the extra to get the urbanfun and a mic but yeah gl

Poor performers for the money. If you want a good budget dac get modi 3 or topping d30. If you want an even better not budget dac get topping d50 and if you want even better+balanced get smsl su-8

Tin audio t2

Apparently not sold in my country but they look nice

Recommend me a good dac/amp for Fostex TH900? Price max 1000e

Attached: 69f.jpg (600x485, 41K)

Aliexpress ships world wide I believe. They're the only valid choice at that price really. Yincrow x6 is a good $10 earbud. Final audio e2000 is fine too. All way better than anything you can find in retail like all the $30 sony and philips stuff.

Topping D50 and arcam rhead

RME ADI-2 DAC, if you want to spend your budget on something worthwhile.

WA6+Mimby

>LCD3 needs to be burn in at normal listening level for at least 200 hours before sounding “good/right”

How is this acceptable in any way?

What is a dac/amp, and my hd668b needs it?

Read the wiki wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php?title=Headphones
>and my hd668b needs it?
Not really, the money would be better spent on chink earpads if you are still using the stock ones. If you really like headphones as a hobby and plan to purchase more expensive headphones, then a DAC/Amp may be a worthwhile purchase. The HD668B is a really good starter headphone, my pair lasted two years and broke in the male 3.5mm dongle.

Attached: 1528423346601.jpg (433x433, 38K)

Claiming that gear needs "burn-in" before it sounds good is a clever way to make the customer satisfied with a purchase they'd otherwise regret.
It causes a psychological effect wherein the customer imagines differences where none exists because of a combination of two facts.
One: They've been told that these differences exists and will naturally seek them out. When they discover that no changes have actually occurred, they imagine them instead.
Two: Their unconscious desire to validate their purchase forces them to believe that these changes must exists, no matter how irrational it may seem

tl;dr: It's a scam. An exceedingly common one in the headphone world, probably because it's full of ignorants.

I can hear my superlux 668b dying after a year and half of use. What's a budget headphone that won't die on me after 2 years?

I gifted a pair of Takstar Pro82 to my sister for her birthday, they sound pretty fun and are comfy as fuck, I'm thinking of buying a pair for myself now. Can you mod the case to make them house something bigger? The case looks way nicer than what the Takstars deserve.

If you don't mind buying chinkshit, the Bosshifi B8 are made of metal and wood, not a single bit of plastic. They are a bit on the heavy side as a result. Over the $150 mark you can find a lot of very well built headphones, I reccomend the B8s just because they're dirt cheap.

Attached: Bosshifi B8.jpg (4000x3000, 2.71M)

Are the gimbals and frames metal too? They look nice.

Need headphones to use while flying so isolation is important. Are there any options beyond etymotics?

>Are the gimbals and frames metal too?
Yeah, they are better built than my HiFiMAN HE-400i. You can find a lot of glamour shots on Head-fi too.

Damn, amazon is having a oneodio deal right now for $20 so jumped on it quick, but thanks, I'll keep it bookmarked.

i wish they sold a bigger plush of my waifu to do this

Thanks!
I don't know if I can make this into a hobby but I am thinking of buying the philips SHP9500.

Attached: 1537701451794.jpg (856x856, 148K)

I think Oneodio has a cheaper model and a slightly more expensive model, both are the same thing with different pads. If you feel like buying better pads, I'm pretty sure that Brainwavz has their sheepskins leathers for sale right now at 20 bucks.

yeah, i got the cheaper one. I'll probably use the pads i bought for the 668b onto this one if it fits.

I love my NFB-11. I use optical.

Attached: setup.jpg (1280x960, 121K)

>I'll probably use the pads i bought for the 668b onto this one if it fits.
The 668B cups are like 110mm, they will fit. If anything they make the outer lips of the pads looser because of how much you have to pull to put them on.

Does she like it?

Not him, but i believe they are 105mm, measured the cups once because i wanted to mod my second pair of 668b's with a speaker grill.

Ordered M40x. How fucked am I?

I see.
Do you have any recommendations at the same price?

I need high impedance closed headphones what do I get

why

tubes

atticus then

anything else?

She liked them but she is not really into audio, I went for comfort and build quality instead of maximun sound quality because I didn't expect her to appreciate the sound too much.

no. beyer but beyer a shit.

>better than anything you can find in retail
That's what I'm looking for. $50 on aliexpress, is it reliable to spend that much money on a chinese website? What if the package doesn't make it to my place? By the way, I'm guessing the cable on those IEMs is sold separately, what should I be looking for if I were going to buy this pair? Thanks user for the suggestions by the way

desu I didn't pay for it. I told a friend about getting the ATH M50x. He probably thought I said M40x and got me these as birthday gift. If it's free it can't be bad.

>If it's free it can't be bad.
it's bad, sell it.

>If it's free it can't be bad
You can sell them without even opening the package and recoup the loss but it's a gift and not keeping it can make you look like an asshole. I say you keep them for reference and testing with other headphones.

>thought aftermarket stax amps added a lot more headroom
>turns out it's maximum +3dB
Fucking snake oil peddlers

Attached: stax power ratings.png (752x1355, 90K)

>selling a gift
This is a huge upgrade for me. I am not an audiophile. I currently have an HD 202 that has only ear working.

M40x are great protable headphones, but they are not that comfy for a desk use. I thnink comfort even more of a factor than sound quality when you buy headphones for home use. Only problem M40x has sound wise is a midbass hump but it's nothing compared to how bad other average headphones color the sound.

They are trolling you

no we aren't

m50s have a rollercoaster FR and there are better options for 1/3 the price

HD579.

shit, so i'll have to buy new pads?

Fuck you guys. I was so excited to try it but I don't feel good about it anymore. Canpicker says they are fine.

Attached: file.png (786x523, 53K)

>Canpicker says they are fine.
canpicker was taken down from general awhile ago for good reasons

M40x not M50x. M40x have almost perfect frequency response

Attached: m40x.png (784x590, 132K)

don't cherry pick you nigger

Attached: m40.png (687x419, 41K)

>20dB bass roll off

Attached: 1529365710395s.jpg (250x250, 10K)

anything will have a perfectly flat freq response at 10db scale kek

>for good reasons
amazon referal links are a good reason to remove the site from op, but not a good reason to ignore disregard it.

>not a good reason to ignore disregard it.
how about it misleads people into buying headphones like audiotechnicas or mezes

aliexpress has buyer protection, if it doesn't arrive after a certain time you get your money back
cable is included but any mmcx cable will work on them

It's a coupling problem. That's why Harman made their own pinna for GRAS 43.

At 10Hz. It's approx. -6dB at 40Hz which is still not great but you'd be hard-pressed to find better bass extension for a lot more money.

>provides home made flat plate measurements
>calls someone a nigger

Attached: 15248686478950.png (667x670, 648K)

Thanks, I'll take a look.

Attached: 1538988391058.jpg (512x512, 18K)

they show almost the same thing user at different scales. if you can't see that then you can't read measurement graphs as well as you think you can
>you'd be hard-pressed to find better bass extension for a lot more money.
pic related $50. well below 10hz

Attached: fr-black-11.png (614x359, 35K)

that's not a 10 db scale, first of all, and second small details below a decibel hardly matter unless you jerk off to charts

Why do you hate M40x so much? Does your school bully use them?
These flat plate measurmemnts you provide are literally useless because you have no reference.

look how flat it is user! :^)

Kind of invalidates the rest of the measurement too.
