also the sub on my set kinda sucks. past a certain point the lows just sound like shit even if i push an eq that could make ishit headphones sound moderately decent

I suppose so. You can find a lot of reviews on youtube. Eclipse Luna is a popular bookshelf speaker. Zeos has also reviewed some Edifiers if I'm not mistaken.
I've mostly read good stuff about them and I'm pretty satisfied with mine (for what they cost)
