Programming Fonts

Which one do you use and why? I'm using Menlo Regular right now and I can't find another font that looks nearly as pretty.

Hack.

It just works, doesn't require patching to get glyphs you commonly need for things such as powerline, and generally looks good at all sizes.

Monaco

Comic Sans

peak autism

You can easily find powerline patched fonts on github though so it's not too big an issue

Certainly, but it's way easier and better to manage fonts directly through your package manager

Whatever the default is in whichever editor I'm using. I don't have time or the autism needed to care about which font I use.

Buddy you're on Jow Forums what else did you expect?

I tried the /meme/ IBM Plex mono
The italic is neat.
the "r" used to be shit, now fixed
O0 is till shit
Il1 is why I'm looking for something else

Hasklig

Virtually all those fancy programming fonts are next to useless since the support only the bare minimum of special chars and symbols.
>but user, my super hyper duper pro bro font can do the ligatures and shit
fuck off

Can anything get any more /reddit/ than this?

I've been using Source Code Pro for so long I haven't even thought of switching out of it. Not that it's bad or anything.

>import java.x.y.z.yada.yada.x
>import java.x.y.z.yada.yada.y
>import java.x.y.z.yada.yada.z
>...
>public class OodMemeGeneratorFactory()
> private static
holy shit fuck java

Fira Code. Looks great, ligatures are noice, easy to read at tiny sizes too. Win/Win/Win.

terminus

if I had a high dpi monitor I would use Iosevka

just install noto-fonts for fallback

This unironically. Comic Sans makes everything more readable and goes well with the rainbow puke of syntax coloring.

Sorry sweatty, I only use operator mono :)

IBM Plex Mono with Fira Code ligatures
(pls ignore the pajeet-tier code, I slapped this together really fast so that I could move onto more important stuff for this project)

Literally SimSun, the microsoft font for rendering chinese
I'm just trying it out but I am totally in love with how it looks, I just wish semicolons were more obviously semicolons

Jesus christ it's like the menu at a diner.

Envy Code R

IBMPlex Mono Medium

GNU Unifont or Terminus.

Pacting fonts to get glyphs? What are you people talking about

I currently use DejaVu Sans Mono, but in the past I've used Terminus and Input.
I think that might be GNU Unifont.

times new roman

I always liked consolas idk why

comic sans ms

Input
input.fontbureau.com

Looks really good. What editor are you using?

7x14 with some tweaks. if my screen weren't so shitty I'd probably use inconsolata

then why not post the more important stuff? nice ligatures though is that in VSCode or what? Can you do it in vim?

It’s the default font in Sublime which I rather like

Curently using Monoid

larsenwork.com/monoid/

I've tried them all, but this one is the easiest to read, and it's free.

Bitmap fonts ftw: github.com/Tecate/bitmap-fonts

tewi and tobi are my favorite.

beautiful

imagine calling someone names for liking a typeface

Helvetica, the best font

it's not gnu unifont. It's just the fixed font shipped with any X server.

This looks so good. What colorscheme is this?

Source Code Pro

used to have source code pro, but switched to fira code due to awesome ligatures support

whatever is the default I don't care enough to change it

Fantasque Sans Mono
Maybe not the most gorgeous though I personally really like it, but I need display correctly some rare accented characters or diacritics such as ţ, ḑ or ề.

>He doesn't like pretty fonts
Who hurt you?

standard monospaced fonts are more than enough.

what font is that?

Any boomers here using Ubuntu Mono?

Hermit

Where are my inconsolata bros?

>caring about programming FONTS
>not caring about programming SOCKS

they have far more impact on your code

Based

OP are you on Mojave?

Cringy freetard meme.

I've started using M+1m recently and I kind of like it since I'm a sucker for narrow fonts

Everything about this screenshot is terrible

Not him but I got it working within the kitty terminal, then it works in vim, emacs etc

I use the default one on visual studio.
This level of ricing you guys have is too much autism for me. I can't be bothered to waste time on this shit.
