If linux is so good, why doesn't it have a good GUI tool like Sequel Pro

Yeah, it's free too...

Because GUIs are for toddlers most of the time.

>if Linux is so good, why doesn't it have hand-holding retard-tools?
Dunno OP, guess you'll just have to stick with macOS and never grace us with your presence on Linux

not familiar with Sequel pro, but what's the .. point of it? is there anything it does you can't just do with mysql or phpMyAdmin if you need hand-holding?

That's not even worth it's disk space. Basic at best.

If you want to be that edgelord, we can use the text-based interface. But we don't, because that's just retarded and a waste of time.

phpmyadmin works too.

Linux is a kernel...

>a waste of time.
imagine a GUI for Apache

apachegui.net/

shitty web-based useless crap.

Because linux was designed for pure command line, GUIs are useless for serious work in networks, databases and managing data servers. Install webmin+SSH and you can manage linux with Guis

>he doesn't use datagrip
Sequel Pro is literally garbage.
>accidentally click a row and type
>immediately saves even to a prod db

Not different from what the OP is pitching.

It's 2018 and linuxtard are still using this bullcrap justification.

>>immediately saves even to a prod db
What a fucking stupid excuse.
> not having a debug, test and prod db
Great developer right here

LOL... comparing a tool that's venerated and used IRL by real engineers with a bullcrap ugly web UI

About 1/10 of the features, I'm sure it's buggy too, as usual...

Uh...

You can do all of that shit in ~/.ssh/config or ~/.ssh/rc

I switched to linux recently and sequel pro was one of the tools I missed the most. Then I found DBeaver and it's not as pretty but it works with Postgres (and all the rest) and yeah happier with it.

what's wrong with the command line client for the DBMS you're using ?

There are GUI database clients for Linux tho. I use MySQL workbench

Retard.
