OH NO NO NO
DELID THIS RIGHT NOW

Attached: 1520235224284.jpg (1000x1000, 253K)

Yet intel is still the king of gaming performance.

Attached: 1539634354911.jpg (1200x902, 186K)

I am using a 1700X. Should I upgrade to 2700X? I don't game but I do use CPU heavy applications like compilers as such.

>10 more fps for $300 more

>KEK HOW WILL INTEL EVER RECOVER
By not cutting prices before releasing a new model.
There's no point in buying AMD until they cut prices which they always will.

But it was literally 304.99 on Amazon at the time it was posted.

>Muh 12% more fps for a billion dollars extra

Attached: VdpgvW4[1].jpg (1251x846, 133K)

If it was around 230 then I would buy it.

implying a pro-gamer wouldn't pay a billion to go from 55 to 60 and make that billion back in 15 seconds through frags

Wait

>Cutting prices because you know you can't compete with Intel and Intel rakes in huge margins

AYYMD IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT

AYYMDPOORFAGS CONFIRMED ON SUICIDE WATCH

There were price cuts to Gen 1 Ryzen too, it didn't work since the 8700k sold out quick and fast - it even sold more when its prices stabilized in early 2018.

I doubt truckloads of people are going to fork $500~ for a CPU but the 9700k and 9600k will be a best seller.

Attached: 1539092673255.jpg (625x626, 38K)

If people have 500 bucks to give on a CPU alone they are already going for intel because for whatever reason they need / want it and no price cutting on AMD side will change it.

Same goes for people who are ok with blowing 1.4k or so dollarydoos on a CPU, they will most likely go for a 2950X for the same reason since in their case they would be looking for something with lots of threads and so on.

> still at 350€ here
Feels good to be European.

Is it worth upgrading to a 2700 from an i5 2500k? I've been thinking its about time to look into a new cpu sometime soon

>>>/pcbg/

If you overclock your 2500K you still have at least one or two more years of decent performance coming from it but at same time if you want to futureproof for another couple years and you find it with a good discount go for it.

Thank you user

meanwhile at Intel pricing in Sweden

>5490 SEK (615 USD)

which makes the 9900K only 100 bucks more expensive here :))) good value only 100 bucks for 2 extra core :))

Attached: 2018-10-16 11_49_21.png (858x720, 249K)

AMD could probably slash their CPU prices in half and still turn a profit. Their yields are insane, keeps profitability sky-high.
There's a reason Intel is having shortages and keeps rising their CPU prices with every gen that they add cores. Meanwhile, AMD keep pushing the envelope for more cores, while keeping the $/core roughly steady. Go figure.

No doubt in my mind that Intel's margin is huge still. But the only reason prices are so high right now, is because they refuse to let go of that margin. Even if they did let go, AMD would go right back to undercutting them, since they're pricing their stuff extremely aggressively to gain market share. Mostly because they can afford to.

330€ here. But the 1800X is 230€, which is a steal for an 8c/16t CPU.

based

Still running on a vanilla i5-2500k. Everything works fine. I only play Warframe, Dota, Cs:Go though, Occasional Fallout 4 / Skyrim with Horsedick mods. I wouldn't see a reason to upgrade the CPU for another, maybe two years or so. Maybe overclock it a bit or something if you really feel the need.

Implying that you are a pro gamer. Except from bugG everything else doesn't need a rtx 2080 ti to run 140+ fps

wasn't it "at least one or two years of decent performance" for 5 years now?

Well the x58 boards with xeons are still kicking and that shit is almost 10 years old.

>another thread of straight white males talking shit about Intel

>Implying that you are a pro gamer.
ofc I'm not - at 55 fps. Just wait till I get rid of that lag though

Their 7nm chips are being shown off in January with a probably launch of late Feb or March.
Definitely wait and get one of those.

epic

it was back when we assumed Intel would actually do their jobs.
Now the CPU market has been stagnant for 7 years there's no noticeable or worthwhile gain going from a 2000 series to 9000 series.

Maybe now AMD's a threat again intel is gonna start trying but we won't see the fruits of this competition for another couple years, especially if intel's still stuck on 12/14nm

> implying it would cost the MSRP at US

servethehome.com/intel-is-serving-major-xeon-discounts-to-combat-amd-epyc/
hmmm........

Here in Holland
- 2700X: €320
- 2700: €290
- 2600X: €220
- 2600: €170
Why would I buy a 2700X when a 2600 costs almost half as much?

It's the same way in the states the 2600 is only 150 burgers now (before the government tip)

by it being faster and 15-30% more performance for 150$ extra dollars is worth it for many people.

How are your prices so cucked

Why do Intel drones want an Intel monopoly?

kek that's more expensive than in Argentina and we have a giant overprice on everything

Intel wouldn't supply, so retailers fuck with us.

2600 is an unbeatable value right now, except maybe for first gen Ryzen sales on the 8 core parts.

Which is faster at compiling gentoo, 2600 or 3.8GHz 1700?

>struggling so hard against based Intel they have to price cut to keep their products viable

Toppest of keks m8

Intel are so based they're passing on the savings they're making on the production line to the consumer instead of taking in more profits which they could have done. Absolutely based.

That's Rome. Ryzen 3 almost certainly won't launch until Q2.

Mad yields, son

Show us your 1080ti and 144hz GAYMAN monitor, faggot. Or you're just jerking off you hardware you don't own and can't afford.

Cant wait to replace my 3570k with sumthin in the coming month. That i7 is lookin juicy but might go for the R7 if pricing is retarded

Attached: 1372716461336.png (250x250, 81K)

Must not be much demand there

yep wait, I'm on 1700X as well at 3.8GHz, my cousin has the 2700X it is decent but not game changing. Our motherboards should be good for Zen 2 so let's see what that offers

Fuck you

>tfw Ryzen 1600x stock speeds
>tfw 1050Ti stock speeds
>tfw 144Hz monitor
>tfw entirely happy with running vidya at low/medium at decent framerates

Y'all overreacting, you don't need to have the latest and greatest to have a good time.

I have a Ryzen 1600. Should I upgrade to 2700x?

You could at least upgrade to a 1070ti anonny.

gaymen do. Real men have a fine time with whatever

wait for the 3000 series

For 3x the price and shit availability
>HAVE TO BUY A WCOOLER
>motherboards cost more
>limited stock
>barely 10% better in games
>have to put up with insane temps
>need to have a motherboard with insane vrm driving up the price even more and it sucks 200+ watts from the wall double that of the Ryzen 2700x
Intel giving bulldozer and pentium 4 a run for their money
I haven't seen a CPU this bad since 2012 and the early 00s
They are legitimately fucked from a manufacturing standpoint as well

Agreed, hence the increase in intel damage control threads as of late.

this but I rather get a 1070 ti or vega56 for futute proof my dude, just save a little more money and you're set for years.

Hey, I'm not the one spending all day defending a flailing multinational corporation on the internet over shit I can't even afford.

BUY 9900k and have the best gamur pc for half a year and be stuck with it for next 5 years
OR
BUY 2700x and have 2nd best gamur pc for 1 year while saving money and after 2 years buy cpu that can beat 9900k using saved money

Attached: Kana-chan.png (404x404, 130K)

What for?
This works fine for my purposes. The newest game I plan to use this on is Hitman 2™, so I don't feel very much of a pressure to futureproof.

And shamefully, I admit I mostly play chess on LiChess. Because I'm a 2D pleb.

Not anymore, also not every Indian is a shitstain

No unless your going to get better faster lower latency ram
T. Went from a 1600x to a 2700x
Didn't really notice a difference desu maybe 5-10fps more on avg and better highs mids and lows
Get over 3200 cl14 if u can
It's funny I was actually around then when CPUs on all fronts where fucking horrible never personally owned a bulldozer or p4 new but dicked around with them new they aged like milk
Intel is in much the same situation they where 15 years ago except this time they can't sit back and rely on die shrinks so they are absolutely buggered
What the fuck is their answer to 2019 7nm amd stuff gonna be? It's literally going to be faster cheaper and use half the power/thermals in addition to being more readily in stock
The fuck are they gonna do with 202x 5nm and under when that launches in 2-3 years?
I honestly don't think they will be around in a decade once servers start junking their shit in 2+ years when the next upgrade cycle comes they are fucked
Literally 5 years behind the competition and having manufacturers fatigue the likes I haven't seen since fermi and there's no way they are gonna bounce back
B-but they will have larrabe 3.0 in 2020 with rajahs poopoocuckduri gpu r-right? I'm sure a 14nm gpcpugpu hybrid on xx (14nm) won't be a housefire or prone to throttling

Will Jim Keller even be able to get 10nm or less working? So many questions it's gonna be funny watching them cook up the most insanely dumb benchmarks like principal technologies and faked bench suites for the next 5 years tho.
Funny how the tech press literally popped the i9 9999kkk launch bubble with the world's longest and hardest pin dick I've ever seen.
I haven't seen the tech press this angry at nvidia or Intel since the late 90s and early 00s it just makes it funnier even supposed shills are absolutely shitting on their handlers and praising amd
Things turned around so hard since last year overnight 4c 8t became the new dual core and 8c 16t is now considered mid

>still turn a profit from selling CPUs as cheap as candies
(lol

They don't have a fab, they pay TSMC to do it for them and TSMC doesn't give them discounts so they are undercutting themselves to pay for TSMC's fabrication.

TSMC chips aren't cheap, just ask Apple and Nvidia.

where's that price drop?

What would I even do with all that power?
I watch 1080p videos at 144FPS comfortably already.
I don't even have a 4k monitor that would benefit from this.

>B-but muh epeen

Not when compared with other Indians, obviously.

It's gonna be $200 by the time Black Friday/Cyber Friday rolls around.

Ahhh c'mon man, I really want that 8700K...

First off there's the 25% VAT. Then it's retardedly expensive to hire people due to excessive regulation.
Lastly we've recently had a clueless liberal and a retarded socialist government. The USD should be 6 SEK, but it's 9 or thereabouts.

Only at +60 fps, which most people aren't needing anyway

B-BUT DRUMPF TARRIFS

SVP mon. Real-time video interpolation.
It's pretty sweet, if you set things up correctly and don't mind super-minor artifacts.

well fuck me. Any guides github wikis you know of?

never mind, will read the manual

I just bought it because I'm a normie. It works great for music videos.

You get a (you) for effort.

hi brian, how have you been since you left intel?

Zen is nice for the average normie, but if you want to emulate games you have to go for Intel

AMD sucks. Stop shilling this garbage here

This. Only downside is you need a very high end custom water loop with at least 6 fans in push pull configuration to keep temps under control. Totally worth it to play super mario sunshine at 90 fps instead of 88 though.
