What a garbage.

>[the RTX2070] offers less than last generation but at a higher price, the premium being tied to real time raytracing and other hardware-accelerated features. And when those features finally release, there's no clear sense of the quality or resolution compromises necessary to run those features.
SHUT IT DOWN

Jow Forums is dead

WHY DON'T THEY MAKE A NON-RTX VERSION FOR CHEAPER

I'm still rocking my HD 7970 from like 6 years ago.

Because benchmarks were already shown ahead of NDA the other day. At least the 2070 beats the 1080 though. The same cannot be said of the 2080 vs. the 1080 Ti.

>go to my national Craigslist equivalent
>look for GTX 1080 Ti
>first result is this
Why would the 2070 even sell a single unit?

For less that $100 more I can get a new in box 1080Ti locally.

I bought that exact GPU for €550 with 20 months of warranty still left (so it was 4 months "old")

>Buying 1080 Ti $699 when 2070 $499 outperforms it for much lower power consumption

THE STUPIDITY OF 1080 TI CUC_KS, IT BURNS

Attached: 101928.png (678x400, 31K)

>For current GTX 10 series owners, the RTX 2070 is largely a side-grade, offering known performance for possibily worse power efficiency. For those with low-end cards, or 900 series and older products, the $600 budget pulls in a number of other alternatives: the GTX 1080, RX Vega 64, or even the GTX 1070 Ti. In particular, the sub $500 GTX 1080 cards are a major spoiler for the RTX 2070, offering equivalent performance at lower price. A prospective RTX 2070 buyer will have to be honest with themselves on utilizing RTX features when the time comes, and any intentions they might have on upgrading monitors for HDR, higher resolution and/or refresh rate, and variable refresh rate technology.
Truly based!

More like the GPU market is dead. Guess I'll skip another gen and keep my fucking 970, nothing to see here.

>2070 $499

haha no

Anandtech have always been one of the few sensible and honest reviewers. They do not shill on fancy graphics scores like many other sites do. Although tech journos appear to be waking up somewhat.

>Can't even beat Vega 64 in a game that usually favors Nvidia.

I got a 1080ti for $475.

That was a hell of a deal. Anyway my point is that the used market is already filled with 1080ti, and it's just a matter of waiting and bargaining to secure a 2080 level of performance for less the price of a 2070.

Far Cry 5 favors AMD and Vega specifically by a long shot due to native fp16 aka fast math support.

Dont see the problem it's getting 60 fps in most of the games at 4k unlike the 1070. It also bumps up badly coded games like Final Fantasy and GtaV to above 60. Not bad but wont last into next gen obviously.

Basically developers suck at optimization and will duly suck Nvidia cock by handing optimizations over to the Nvidia driver team instead
>MFW DX11 is still not the 'secondary' graphical API choice to code in in 2018.

Attached: 1536893762472.jpg (332x353, 20K)

It doesn't replace the 1070, it replaces the 1080.

Ya been out of the loop so I didn't realize they fucked up the naming convention. I Take back everything I said so.

whats the point of ray tracing, the 2070 can barely handle it in 1080p.

That's called pascal.

>comparing a pre-overclocked card to an overclock one
Looks like you're the only cuck here.

poorfag

Anyone else thinking nvidia rushed out their RTX meme at such high prices with such agressive marketing to get ahead of an impending AMD raytracing GPU reveal?

It's a different form of graphics that is made for photo realism, a good video explaining it would be this

Thanks for the eceleb plug. But why does the 2070 bother with rt cores when not even the 2080 ti has enough to offer a playable experience.

>waaaa why can't first generation technology keep up with my demands!

gotta walk before you can run. you're asking a single GPU to handle real time 100fps when it's predecessors (pixar's work) takes months of 24/7 full loads to make 90 minutes of 24fps

oh, and that's $100,000 in multiple machines doing this, not a single pci-e card in a consumer electronic for under $1000

>herp a derp ur poor

that's not what i meant you dullard, good luck finding a 2070 for $499

even reddit banned this meme for being too shitty

FINE WINE BABY

No such thing as fine wine, Pooga has to use inferior FP16 rendering to catch up to 1080 Ti

>"meanwhile over in my neck of the woods, which is Australia, stay..., I've been told by a few different retailers that we can expect the absolute cheapest models to cost about $950. Ah, so, yeah, that's not great, and they also suggest that most models will be priced closer to $1000, some even creeping over $1000" - Steve Walton on the RTX 2070

Who is this card actually aimed at? Are Nvidia counting on the imminent selling out of 1070ti and 1080 to sell these things?

Far Cry 5 is an AMD sponsored game you retarded AMD nigger.

970 master race reporting in. I'm currently bathing in money, but it's too much effort to order a new GPU for the return I would get.

2050ti when though?

>choosing the only game that runs better on turing because nvidia finally unfucked async compute

>tfw bought a 1080 at the end of the cycle when it was cheap

Attached: 1520607865580.jpg (205x192, 7K)

are they going to launch a 2060? if they skip the rtx shit on that one maybe it could be 1070 performance at $250 otherwise it won't make any sense

It'll be slower than 1070. The gap between 1070 and 2070 is too small.

>THANK YOU
Has to be bait

I know how that feels, bought a 480-8gb when they first came out for £180 and i haven't really seen anything since that was even remotely worth considering as an upgrade.

Should I just buy a 1080? Will the price keep going down?

No, only up.

>slower than a 1070 but faster than a 1060
If that's true then its sales are going to be ass. It needs to be equal to a 1070 just like the 1060 is equal to a 970 but with a 6gb option.

>Buying 2 year old outdated Pascal

this thing is all over the place WTF is it doing?

2060 with 192-bit 14Gbps GDDR6 memory will have 336GB/s of memory bandwidth, far more than 256GB/s of 1070

Turing easily outperforms Pascal in rasterization

dio canaglia

>Middle of the road card now costs the same as the original titan
Fuck that cunt, I'm buying a second hand Vega 64

If you bought any Pascal cards, kill yourself now

Attached: infiltrator-fps-chart.jpg (1280x680, 82K)

I have a 760 and I'm poor

Well, how about you TO GO FUCKING BACK

What happens if I bought a pascal card a year and a half ago.

Do nothing

But for those that bought this year despite knowing Turing is coming, they have severe buyer's remorse now

>rendering at 40% lower resolution and upscaling
>40% higher performance

hmm
I wonder

Attached: 1530517154073.jpg (1536x2049, 335K)

I'm guessing the drivers are still a bit flaky at this stage.

I hear you. I was in the market for a Vega64 or early reference Vega56 (in the hope for a potential V64 bios flash), but a 1080ti came up for a reasonable price. Only new cards that make sense currently in the Aussie market are either RX570/580, 1070ti or maybe the Vegas when they're in stock. The sub $1000au 1080ti' seems to have dried up.

>gaming
>4K
>Spending $2000 on a GPU+monitor for 60fps
Lmao

>$600
>185w tdp
>paying for new tech that needs developer side compatibility to see advertised performance, worked for sli r-right guys?

Jesus Christ. wasn't far off the mark

>gib sheckles goy

So why push ray-tracing at this early, expensive and not even working stage? They're not even using lube anymore to fuck us over.

I have a GTX1070
i'll pass 1080 proformace for 3x the bucks and 16% more power than my 1070.
Nah.

good luck with sales :)

>reddit banned
punished kav is about to blown them the fuck out

Attached: 1513778109782.png (652x357, 50K)

The 1060 6GB was more on par with the 980Ti

The entire 2xxx line price shifted up a slot, so the 2070 should be compared to the 1080 it replaces. 2080ti = Titan xp. 2060 is going to have to significantly beat the 1070 without dlss upscaling, and good luck with that.

Why lie on the internet?

>980ti

I paid $650 in 2015 for this little Titan X, why won't you give me something worth buying at the same price NVIDIA?

"4k"

No they rushed it out to push all the waiters to buy up the leftover Pascal stock.

better upgrade from a 1080ti to a 2070, sounds good

This sounds on point

youtube.com/watch?v=RAcsxZfROY8

how will nvidia ever recover?
the ray tracing will cripple your gaymes to below 30fps.

They didn't. Twitter did though.

are there even gaymes out with rtx support?

I think at the prices Nvidia wants for Turing it's more than likely they feel like they dodged a bullet.

Turkey and omelet situation. Novidio wanted to make an omelet but it needed a turkey first.

How many games use memetracing? I heard it was like 3. Might be worth it, should I pick one up?

>we should do what reddit does, fellow anons

>STOP OFFENDING US
>REEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee.......

>yotsuba
oof...

Should I wait for else from AMD? Still rocking a R7 260x

Well it might be once Maxwell ages like shit.

>nvidia makes a new card series focusing on allowing ray tracing to become big in the industry instead of forever being stuck to rasterization which has long gone past the point of diminishing returns
>So rasterization performance is similar to the previous gen
>Obviously cards are not meant for people who want better price/performance on previous games but for future products that will make use of DLSS and RTX features, or those that simply want the best of the best regardless of price
So why are retarded normies complaining constantly when this product isn't for them?
