MODS!

this is a stupid port. you cant even fit regular SATA in it

>ports_you_never_used.jpg

I've never once used eSATA since it's introduction... I don't even think I have an eSATA cable laying around anywhere.

mfw i never realized it's also a usb port

unironically enjoyed the mag power when I was in highschool

Magsafe1 was pretty cool.
Second is shit, unconnects all the time
USB-C - complete shit.

You could use it as a USB-A port too.

Easily the comfiest port. Warm, soft and the satisfaction of inserting the male port is great. 10/10

Holy fuck i just realized as well. My T420 has one!

I have never in my life gotten an drive to be recognized via ESATA. It's a fucking waste..

Did you ever use it as an eSATA tho?

I like that they have lights. It makes me think about the computers talking to each other in their beep boop computer language

hiv port

>that satisfying click

only when it's your own port that someone else is plugging something into desu.
the this is the objective best port.

yeah i agree but would it be ok if i inserted something inside your port user

The machines that come with this port are very difficult to utilize. They're expensive as shit too.

My laptop doesn't have an optical drive and came with an eSATA DVD burner. I used it frequently till I replaced it with a USB 3.0 Blu-ray drive.

>that unsatisfying feel when the tab breaks and the cable keeps falling out.

This, a lot of ports are missing physicality like that.

Then it just becomes as unsatisfying as an USB port.

SFF-8088 is nice

has a serious design flow where blood comes out of it on a regular basis

I hate usb-c so goddamn much. Literally everything about it is trash.

If you think about it shit always gets inserted through that port from stomach

Your prostate is periodically stimulated with your own feces whether you like it or not

Really makes you thinked

i used to be a usb-c preacher but now that i've seen it in action i've come to realize it's hot garbage. it's only useful as a micro-usb replacement

Not many ports that can self-cleanse and are to a certain extent size adjustable.

i miss him bros

Female IEC ports on old school PSUs

Guess we still have them on UPSs too.

I like plugging them in.

Were they basically like a passthrough?

your the only one. fuck ports that have screws!

Why are the newest ones highly illegal to connect to? You always have to wait a few Gens before you can legally do it, and at that point, they're already old and outdated.

self-cleaning too

too young to have seen them?
yes, they're passthrough, powered while the psu is turned on
the idea was so you could plug a monitor into it, and turn on/off the computer and monitor at the same time
then DPMS came along and now monitors can just turn themselves off/on

Not too young. I just never built my own pc or got into the hardware side of things until the Pentium 4 era and only was interested games until the early 2000's. I'm guessing by then they were more archaic and only used in OEM office machines. As a scale of age I can say my family had several prebuilts going back to the 486/DX2 and my first personal machine was a Netburst Celeron when I was a teen.
