>The explosion injured his thumb and shreds of the battery left his arm scarred. Barrera says they are not major injuries, but they are inconvenient.

>The battery problem is common and Barrera says he's seen it before on the model phone he was working on -- an Iphone 6.

>"More of a common problem then people think. That's why I was kind of shocked that it happened just cause I have done it a hundred times before," says Barrera.

>After the incident, he says he called Apple who told him that the batteries are defective. Barrera advises people to take action if they notice their screen is popping out.

The ABSOLUTE state of iShit.

there's probably a whole 30 people in the place, that must be a record for the year

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I hate Apple.

>bends and peirces lithium ion battery
>wtf man it like blew up in my face
>fucking apple defective batteries
I mean, I hate apple, but look at the way this guy is handling the battery, its like he is going in there with jackhammer.

>LOL GUIZE look the mall doesnt have enough mindless consumer whores

Are you serious?

they're lucky the battery blew up during disassembly and not when it was inside the phone, that's like a grenade going off.

>He's not old enough to remember the iPhone 4 holding it wrong meme.

Do you have the math to back that up?

read what apple removed, and read what google removes

can you see a difference?

apple is by FAR the lesser evil.

Is he using a fucking knife to get the battery out of that?
Jesus, Apple batteries are the fucking easiest to get out. They have two pieces of adhesive that come off easier than Command strips.

>"It was kind of like the blueberry chick from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"
>faggot has never seen a swollen battery before
They pop like fucking balloons if you even slightly cut them.

100 ways to die episode

Phone was swelling, lady didn't care to get it repaired, answered her phone, exploded right next to her ear, went off like a shrapnel grenade killing her.

iTODDLERS BTFO

>applefags defended this

This is why Apple doesn't want customers repairing their own products or taking it to third party shops and instead getting Apple themselves to repair it.

what's more expensive: a grenade or an iphone SE

iPhone. No joke. Military contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder. When holding a grenade in your hand in the army, you have to remind yourself that what you're holding was made by a company that planned to skimp on as much quality as possible to meet the lowest standard of safety required to make it into service.

Same with guns. There's a reason we ended up with the L85Ax in the British army and the Yanks ended up with the M14 (and the M14 does indeed suck. Only fanboys say it doesn't)

>M14
>literally an M1 from WW2 with a new stock and a magwell mod
that's a yikes

Why don't they just start a campaign to retrieve and replace all batteries for free like every non shady electronics company?

>Military contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder.

Haha, bullshit.

Because Apple cultists have proven to Apple themselves that they will take it in the ass and complain, but still buy Apple.

It's a Bong, he's mentally retarded in that area, don't be so hard on him.

politically leaning right people with androids are even worse, they directly support google by buying android products. i dont get why at all.

>It's a Bong, he's mentally retarded in that area, don't be so hard on him.

Both we and the Americans went into Iraq without the right armoured vehicles because both our governments didn't want to spend the money upgrading our vehicles. Most of our early casualties were from IEDs in convoys.

And it should never have fucking happened. Especially with the British. We had 30 years of experience of that time of guerilla campaign in Northern Ireland. We should have been rolling around in Land Rover Tangis at the very least during patrols. They'd have been a lot fucking safer than the snatch Land Rovers.

It wasn't until casualities started mounting up and under armoured vehicles blamed and the public getting into a frenzy that the contracts were put out for newer vehicles. In the early days I remember riding around sitting on my helmet with spare plate carriers mounted to the side of the vehicle. Seen Yanks rolling around in Hummers with flak jackets hung from doors too, for just a little bit of extra protection over the piss poor protection of a thin layer of steel, against sniper and rifle rounds.

Protip: if Apple find a battery is swollen like that during service, they stop the repair because shit like this can happen. It's not a "defective battery", it can happen with any Lithium Ion battery as the chemistry breaks down.

The fact that these clowns are doing this in a strip mall, in front of the customer, with zero safety measures in place makes me hate shitheels like Louis Rossman even more.

He was definitely doing something wrong.
Just look at his technique. The phone is sliding all over the place. He's got one hand on his plush toy while the other is holding some tool in a reverse grip while prying towards him.
The battery was in a volitile state and he wasn't treating it with care. He fucked it up.

>t. Itoddler

Suck your own cock.
I'm not a fan of Apple at all and harp all over their shitty products but at least I don't defend people being retarded and causing their own problems.
That fucker was not using appropriate care in dealing with a swollen battery. Fuck he wasn't using appropriate care in dealing with any Li-ion cell.

>remove lipol protection circutry to cut costs
>no goy! you can't repair it on your own, give it to our minesweeper tech service (100$)

based and redhairpilled

>>remove lipol protection circutry to cut costs
This is not something they have done.
Whether it is on the battery itself or on the mainboard, it is still there. And I bet you don't even know what that circuitry protects against.

After seeing this, I right now went and got my old iPhone 4 with a pregnant battery out of the box I'd planned to forget about it in.
He obviously punctured it for it to explode, but I don't want my house to catch fire - What do?

not an argument

The L85 and M14 both ended up in service for immensely political reasons, not price. It is true that an early factor in M14 development was the hope of reusing some M1 tooling though, and it's been suggested that the L85 was upgraded to the A2 rather than replaced with a more conventional rifle was cost savings though. Still, neither were initially adopted 'because they were cheaper'.

>What do?

Don't charge it and you'll be fine.
Lithium Ion batteries are designed to expand like that to expel energy so they don't have a runaway thermal event, if it's punctured it can short the cells and cause it to happen immediately, like in the OP video.
If the battery is flat (the Apple safety margin is 20% battery level), there's no energy so nothing will happen in terms of thermal event, but there's still a chance of a chemical leak so best to take it into your local Apple Store or electronics recycler.

>This is not something they have done.

This is actually one of the reasons why Apple are so strict around counterfeit batteries, a lot of cheaply made chinese knockoffs don't have the same safety features.

>Don't charge it and you'll be fine.
>Lithium Ion batteries are designed to expand like that to expel energy so they don't have a runaway thermal event
Yeah, but it doesn't convert all of its energy into expanding.
Get rid of the phone.

It's obviously way past warranty, but what sort of other legal regulations are they under to reimburse me in some way for a defective dangerous product?

>what sort of other legal regulations are they under to reimburse me in some way for a defective dangerous product?

None, this is known behaviour of lithium ion batteries, especially as they age.

>Yeah, but it doesn't convert all of its energy into expanding.

The rest would've self-discharged away months ago if it's been sitting in a drawer.

Now that I can definitely see.

Li-ions keep their charge for a long fucking time.

Well, it's known behavior but that behavior is a sign of defect.

>it's always some random repair place and no mention what condition the battery was in

Yeah lets open up repairs even more top kek

>samsung has federally banned phone on all flights
>try and take high ground against apple

>that behavior is a sign of defect

No, it's a safety feature.
Battery didn't catch fire? The safety feature worked as designed.

>Li-ions keep their charge for a long fucking time.

They usually self discharge around 5%/month when completely shut down.

But it was a defect that led to the safety feature working.

Quads are truth. I hate apple but mall repair shops like this are often incompetent.

Is that an Apple Store?

No, it's not.

This is why idiots that import batteries from China, that are fake (and then, when they get caught by the customs doing their job, they say "it's Apple"), should be in jail.

Attached: download.jpg (312x162, 9K)

>import batteries from China, that are fake

Excuse fucking me ?
You buy something, you own it. Period.
Customs can put another stick up their ass, its nobody bussiness what I buy and where when it is legal, and as far I know, bateries are legal.

All iphone batteries are made in china.

Based Sataniaposter

shouldn't have opened it if he doesn't know what he's doing

kek that gay touch

What?
It's the official apple batteries that are exploding, retard

the only thing that breaks down is your grey matter for being a faggot that buys apple shit

>you're opening it wrong

I don’t get it, why doesn’t this faggot just stop repairing apple devices if he hates them that much?

Money you can charge for repairs. Mercedes and BMW are other high end German cars are notoriously difficult to work on, particularly regarding their electronics. But the mechanics make bank doing it.

Would you pass up such good money?

I bet the merchant and his schemes with the chinks are somehow related.

nah, apple should have designed the batteries better. i shouldn't be blown up if i open my iphone and repair it.

i hate apple but I bet the kid was trying to show off for the person standing there so he was eager to open it quick and accidentally stabbed the battery with the pry tool.

So he’s just another money grubbing jew. What’s the difference between him and apple then?

He pays tax.

>drop phone
>it blows up
always feel safe carrying around a bomb in my pocket

He doesn't tell the customer that their shit is totally fucked and to hand out money for a brand new system. The Genius Bar will scream water damage regardless of what's wrong and claim everything is beyond help.

>t. Samsung/Apple battery dev

lmfao

you're using it wrong. the battery is supposed to melt in the phone not explode out

yikes

I live here. The guy in the Cricket booth right next to this posts on Jow Forums. I wonder if he'll make an appearance.

Chinks batteries are safe than appel trash. They buy cheapest cells, they don't have as much ooomf, so they don't explode.

Dunno, I have 8 yo batteries, that are still charged for some reason.

Imagine wasting quads on this

yikes
