Why did Microsoft abandoned the Windows Vista beta sounds and choose the shitty Windows Vista and 7 sounds you hear today?

I don’t believe those are the actual longhorn sounds.

Why though, did Aero go away? Those glass accents are sexy as fuck, I remember thinking “holy shit” when I first got vista. It was a shitty as fuck OS but damn if it didn’t look great.

I member reading they used some electric guitar music man to make those futurey sounds.
I miss being young

I blame focus group plebeians.

your OS shouldn't make you want to kneel down and face mecca

Kill yourself, nigger.

damn. vista makes me nostalgic for early high school. I remember when it was announced Halo 2 was coming to PC, but only for Vista.

are you talking about Brian Eno?

The first thing I do when getting my hands on any windows install since win 95 as a kid is disabling all windows sounds, even if it's not my PC.

Popsicley, my memory says it was for Vista though.

I use Vista beta sounds mixed in with the Halo theme pack. The Vista beta startup sound is the best one out of all of the other versions.

Because all of these sound like sound effects straight out of a mid to late 90's cheap sci-fi.

Same....

do people actually use system sounds/themes?
it's the first thing i disable due to their high level of annoyance

>auditory feedback

I'm sorry you're autistic, user.

You know its sad when tards are nostalgic over vista

I wouldn't feel nostalgic over Vista/7 if MS made a decent operating system.

Tone down the 'tism please.

>OS so slow that it needs to tell you when ot is ready to use

Yikes.

Early Vista (before the finalized UAC) Microsoft thought their userbase would have a basic enough knowhow to edit & replace stock .wav files

A design philosophy absent from the space since.

Fucking this. It was the most impressive UI improvement I've seen.
Glad they've started to put some things back in Windows 10, but it's still just basic transparency effects.

>clock widget
>clock in the task bar
>two clocks
why do people do this

Incels were threatened by a female singing.

Now Windows 8 to 10 didn't have any startup sound/shutdown.

This.

Not anymore.

It was Robert Fripp

Vista could have been as big as Windows XP. What happened? Let me find the culprit
