Android a shit. The Librem 5 is paving the way for proper GNU/Linux on mobile
phone?
It's Samsung DeX mode, can be done on S8,S8+,Note8,S9,S9+,Note9,Tab S4.
Huawei have something similar called easy projection which more polished, but lack the support.
I have Note8 with the dex pad, AMA.
i remember watching that guy
seemed like a sperg
This looks like a desktop until you open an application.
You can do most things you do on your "PC" on this as well.

but again, can you open a luks container on android?
Phones are botnet
That i do i doubt.
Compiling C++ code, running blender at a useable frame rate with dense geometry etc..
Yes and it will backup the keys for your safety on google servers.
Yes.

That's what I said MOST.
I SSH into desktop to do such stuff.
I understand most people probably would be fine with it until trying to open steam.
But for me, it's quite far to be useable.
Yeah, it's not designed for some people.
But for someone like me most of my usage involve web browsing, word processing, media consumption, reading PDFs, replying to emails/IM/VoIP.
And if you travel a lot, or if your job is far away, carrying a laptop is annoying.
For me Note8 + chromecast + USB-C to HDMI/USB-A adapter +wireless keyboard/mouse+charger, is enough.
Weight less, get the job done, and small.
>chromecast + USB-C to HDMI/USB-A adapter +wireless keyboard/mouse+charger
how is this any less cumbersome than a laptop?
Smaller and lighter, can fit in my jacket.
How do you type on that thing?
Do you find the mode useful for anything?
Did they fix any of the functionality issues?
Can you see continued support for DeX?
Pic related seems better for typing abroad with a trackpad if you have a usb passthrough. Or any bluetooth keyboard thats about this size.
terribly, it's clicky buttons like you find in a mouse but the trackpad gets in the way so you have to hold it like it's being held in the image and use your thumbs to type
With both thumbs, it's quite comfy.
>Do you find the mode useful for anything?
It's useful for me, instead of carrying around a laptop I can use it instead.
It also revived the landscape mode in apps.
And multi window navigation is easy.
>Did they fix any of the functionality issues?
It's better now, but there are apps to fix those issues.
>Can you see continued support for DeX?
Hopefully, but unless apple adopt it I doubt it will.
Huawei is pushing their own version, but the lack of apps that utilize the DeX is troublesome.
The shape of the keys is not good.
