The XR screen is still better because they used that retarded 3x but not scaling on the 8 plus. They rendered at a weird virtual resolution of 2204x1242 (or something like that) and then scaled that down to the actual 1080p screen resolution, screwing up the sharpness of everything.

Obviously because 16:9 is a very bad shape for a phone . The real question is why they used a 1080p screen with weird downsampling for four generations when they could have called up their suppliers and demanded screens with the actual rendering resolution at any time.
