well, they gave me two old Dell Optiplex gx280 desktops at work today along with a slightly newer Optiplex and an old IBM typewriter. We're cleaning the office out since our boss just got diagnosed with Alzheimer's so he's retiring. That man helped paid my way through college, real feels bad man. Xp had this terrible fisher pryce skewmorphism look where everything looked like plastic
It was full of security holes and had tonnes of other issues.
The day longhorn vista came out in 2006 it felt like the future even if it was too early.
Most people had single cores and under 1gb of ram and shat on it unfairly as well.

I'm afraid I disagree with you there. I've never seen A Windows 10 computer idle properly. That shit's always busy doing God knows what. Constant disk I/O and CPU usage. Just can't justify it.

That's straight up wrong. I'd format at least twice annually using 98SE back in the day. The ran win2k until XP came out in Sept 2003 with no reinstall at all.
Win2k was stable af.
