Were you aware of Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2018 release?
Thinkpad have been on the making for 30 years. This is the newest incarnation. It has been designed by no other than Richard Sapper. It has 8th gen. Genuine Intel CPU.
Carbons will be on sale starting from the price range of 1800 dollars. For this price you will also get 256GB SSD inside the machine.
It is very thin and it weighes 1.1 kg. The screen is very sharp. Keyboard is excellent.
The Good -QHD screen -lightweight -keaboard -battery live
The Bad -too expensive compared to what you get in the same price range by the competitors
looks like any other """new""" chinkpad keyboard which is better than most other competitors but terrible compared to old thinkpad keyboard vittu, pekka poopää
Jaxson Reyes
> designed by guy who died 3 years ago
if he was so good why did he die?
Thomas Baker
The 6th gen is from January.
Blake Wood
The 6th gen is trash because it doesn't run Linux properly (new proprietary sleep mode). Sent mine back a few months ago :'(
Daniel Brown
isnt the CPU a bit slow
Samuel Scott
Joe Rogan has one, so memebooks are normie tier now
Nigga, that shit has been out since february. The fuck is wrong with you finns?
Nathan Hall
no but you can buy a faster computer when you need upgrade
John Hall
The only reason people buy thinkpads is for durability and libreboot (for what those are worth). Modern thinkpads come with "theft-prevention" malware.
Jose Moore
>no but you can buy a faster computer when you need upgrade AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Why would I be? It has a shittier keyboard and is like 10 times more expensive than my thinkpad from years ago with no important benefit.
John Sanchez
he was too good for his own good
Cooper Flores
get a job and you'll see it's not enough
Robert Butler
very big boy
Luke Young
Nice ad, shill. Looks like trash.
Blake Sanders
>16:9 display kiddie toy
Jackson Sanchez
>some flimsy excuse for a laptop with 0 upgradable parts and no strength to withstand a bit of abuse, about the furthest away you could get from a business laptop >somehow still wearing the thinkpad brand how did this happen
Do they still go through the same durability testing? IIRC I remember them dropping a 1st gen carbon from a scissor lift when they first announced it, along with a laptop they (supposedly) found at lost & found. Obviously it survived while the other didn't. I wanna see them do that again at the next reveal.
Parker Green
i rather buy a Windows Surface with my own keyboard than meme thin pointless shit overheating no graphics....
Levi Hall
>35-45w >quad core, eight threads >lumping it in the same group as dual core ULVs I have nothing to tell you
Hunter Campbell
perkele
Cameron Roberts
Ram? No. Storage? Yes.
Zachary Jones
I can tell it's sub FHD already
Jace Campbell
>overheating intel cpu with unfixed spectre/meltdown >everything is soldered down like in a fucking macbook >$2500+ for decent specs
Nah fuck that, where's A285?
Adrian Clark
An xps still looks better and is better made
Angel Nelson
>$1800 >256 GB SSD >QHD screen, not 4K what the h*ck
Normies complaining that business laptops don't look like MacBook Airs
Grayson Thompson
Macbooks are business laptops, thinkpads are manchildren toys
Chase Hughes
Actually I believe Lenovo fucked up the A285 as well. Soldered RAM and battery can't come out from the back or bottom so it cannot be upgraded. They didn't even switch back to anniversary keyboard to compensate that. With these things fixed I would buy it.
Xavier Perry
Well at least it isn't flimsy and super expensive.
Gabriel Gonzalez
Lenovo doesn't catter to you.
Carson King
you realize non ULV are fucking ridiculous at this point? ULV is a full 35W, quad with eight threads. What the fuck do you want on a laptop lmao
James Gutierrez
still, how much ram does it come with? 32GB should be plenty for VMs, 16GB minimum
Isaac Rogers
found the homosexual
Noah Bell
>using your personal computer for work
I seriously hope you guys don't do this
Lucas Butler
When are they going to make a fanless thinkpad.
Jacob Young
When computers designed for work won't overheat without one.
Hunter Wood
>2018 >still buying the ULV are bad maymay All modern laptop CPU are ULV.
Henry King
Rogan is a long time tech user, noob. In the 90s he had a T1 line going into his house to play Quake on.
James Allen
>still ULV oof
Nathaniel Moore
but I've had a 6th gen since March?
Robert Gomez
>It has been designed by no other than Richard Sapper Richard Sapper died in 2015
Bentley Jackson
>no but you can buy a faster computer when you need upgrade Fuck yourself
