If I had a more proper desk, I'd have the 80s era monitors I moved out of there as well, but with only so much space around, it's better to minimize the number of boxes needed for scaling and scan conversion to share across everything.

it's not that bad.

It's two adjacent keyboards. Redragon Vara and Kumara. I bought the Kumara originally to use with a Raspberry Pi, but on the main system having two keyboards lets me use one with each mouse focus. So I can, for example, use the left mouse/KB to pull up a video or whatever on another screen without taking the right mouse/KB focus off a game or something. Or if I unify the focus then it's just more hand positions available for typing which can be good for ergonomics.

And for gaming at 1280x1024 or whatever your 2006 card could push, they'd do some insane refresh rate. I 'upgraded' to a IBM P275 when the Mitsu's ghosting issue got worse (found it in a skip, so that wasn't surprising) & the image was probably no better, but the flat screen surface was nice.

For real? In my experience they're horrible in that regard. You can't look closely at them or you'll start seeing the red green and blue instead of whatever the pixel was supposed to show. Small text looks like a blurry mess too.

I don't play online, except for Star Citizen.

I'm leery of buying games that are still in alpha. Is it any good?

I basically just preordered the offline game and only could do that by buying a basic package that includes an online starter pack, so I tried it.

It's atrocious how much money is being shoveled into the game on a _daily_ basis, yet it still feels like an alpha. It's at 173 million dollars or something.

I've got an eerie SWTOR vibe about the whole game, as in "development being pumped full of money but the result won't be up to expectations".

It looks like its got a lot of potential, hopefully it pans out for the amount of dough thats being shoved down their throats. I mostly play Elite Dangerous and just recently bought a new HOTAS set up to further the immersion.

It's pretty much guaranteed at this point that some people won't see the expected amount of features, scale or quality, the developers of this game spent a sizable amount of that truckload of money on learning how to code what they promised the first place.

I won't be disappointed because I'm not setting any expectations, I'm just waiting for the game to finish. Until then it's pretty much impossible to play anyway, because you need a beast to get decent FPS, optimization won't be a priority until they finished implementing the content.

Then there's the issue of the release date. CD Projekt Red received a large chunk of Cyberpunk 2077's budget from the polish government for which they had to sign a contract that had a deadline. The game must be released by June 2019. The closer Star Citizen approaches this date, the more likely it is that it will be overshadowed by Cyberpunk 2077 and the launch will be a huge fail.

So they better hurry the fuck up and finish sooner.
