This shouldn't really matter much, as almost all OEMs stop updating even their Android One devices after two years. You will disagree with whatever model is mentioned, but no one can disagree with drastic improvements to any camera by using Gcam. Want stock Android - choose a device with good custom ROM support and don't buy a new one every two years just for software updates.

You could argue you can get a static IP and all the bull, log in remotely and torrent whatever the fuck you want, but it's nice just downloading a game, an episode or a movie while you're commuting to watch at home when you eat or rest.

Sometimes I torrent movie at work and when I come home just stream it over dlna to tv without even turning computer on.
It is convenient I agree, but phone is just not a good platform for that. Prolonged downloads will make it heat up and drain battery quite a lot. There's also space concerns.
I come from an era of not having a luxury of high bandwidth internet on phones so I'm used to preparing everything in advance. That's why I've never even considered torrenting on phones. But if it works for you - sure, it's great.
